This topic proves most endgame shells have the same rules, I've tried to explain this to a friend, but I guess it doesnt get through. This person has stopped me from just straight up quitting 4 times now! =P
Yes, I'm with BoL, (the Big Bad Wolf) have been for around 6 months and I dont really know you, but I hate seeing another Veteran Player leave. Especially because of stress from the game, quit on your on accord because your tired of the game, not because people are assholes and dont give you a chance.

Anyhow, that's just my opinion.

I think this topic just proves that most players in endgame shells need to form new shells when their current one can't meet their needs :|

It just takes a few people to work together and start a shell that turns into something really good if you put the work into it. There is nothing stopping you from making a new endgame LS and making it work on your terms and fair for everyone involved.
 
Yeah, but then there will always be the bad eggs, which will ironically be 1 certain members RL friend, or someone they go way back with. Then, the drama starts again, Greed will take place, members will turn and lose faith in eachother. At that point it'll turn into the typical Endgame Shell.
From there your back at square one, and you make a new topic starting a new shell, and it'll repeat a neverending cycle. People just need to find a shell thats right for them, if they desire endgame, they'll stick it out no matter what.

I dunno if that makes sense to anyone, it sure as hell didnt make much to me. Some people will make a shell, it'll go great for around 3-4 months, but it all turns out the same in the end. Maybe we all need some sort of evolution! =P

Anyhow, dont mind me, I'm still half a sleep and on pain pills.

A typical endgame group in any game deals with drama on a constant basis, the difference between a good one and a terrible one is that the leaders correct issues and have a following that will accept them. From your comments you seem to be unhappy and accepting this because it's just how "endgame" works, which doesn't have to be the case if you put in the effort to fix the situation.
 
I'm not accepting it, I'm just posting my opinion, because 1 person cant change something themself, maybe not even 10 people can.

A group of ten 65+ can do a lot in this game to earn money or progress through content... can you do it all? No, but you can cover a lot of ground and grow with good word of mouth and recruiting methods. Myself, and a few others said fuck this JPN HNMLS bullshit and did just that. You can too!

And this isn't really off-topic since one solution to his problem is to find a new LS he likes or simply form a new one with some friends.

PS: I don't know the OP but if he does quit, I'll come out and say it... Can I have some of your stuff?

That's a faulty assumption of all hardcore players. All the people in my endgame ls know this is only a game and RL comes first. Thanks for generalizing us though.
 
Dont Leave Vandy your too sweet and kool to leave i remember when we were in a social ls together and you left and from there you never talked to us again >< but your still a good person

I'd say Kyr hit the nail on the head... If you don't have the time, then FFXI endgame is not for you... or any other MMORPG's endgame. The people who have the time are going to get miffed at the one person who doesn't show up to 80% of planned events, and uses RL as an excuse, however true it may be.

But endgame is not all the content there is to FFXI. There's levels 1-74 on other jobs, a gajillion quests, people to talk to and help out... Y'know, the stuff you used to be doing.

If the unachivable endgame is all you want to do in this game, then you're probably better off quitting, or as Kyr said, finding a social LS that does the occasional HNM/god. If you wanna take a look around, and see all there is to do in the game... Don't leave unless you have other reasons.
 
Theres a difference between not being able to make NM times, and coming in, chatting, then saying "Removing Pearl, private time ^^"

You think it won't happen again when you join HNMPT? Kurei might let people slack, but if you don't do anything again, you think he'll let you stay?
 
LS are like clubs within the game, there are social, HNM, Dynamis, Sky, Limbus shells. You decide what fits in your schedule and what you want to do with your time that you have in game. You don't join a dynamis shell and use it as social. If you do would you call those members boring because they only come in the ls for dynamis time? Each ls has its goals and schedules, if you join them you are saying you have the time and the same goals as them.

I'm sorry you are having problems finding a ls that works for you Vand, but perhaps you arent looking for the right kind for you. Before joining a ls you should ask what thier goals, requirements and schedule is like and see if that will fit in to what you want to achieve out of the game. If you don't like sky, want to hunt HNMs on occasion but mostly just want to chat with friends, look for a social ls that occasionally goes after NMs. Once you find your neche I think you will be much happier.
