to those ppl that jacked Vermillion cloak to 3.5M

<^>

Check the prices on Damascene cloths, that might help explain why, if someone is jacking the price on those you can't blame the Clothcrafters

It aint our fault, If I had my way Vermilion cloak would be alot less, but we can not control the fact that the materials cost well over 3 million.

I along with alot of the crafters Im sure have always thought it's complete bullshit that you would even try a synth like that to "Break Even" or even a small loss.....For a NQ cloak I would think it should only be right we make 30-50k or at least break even off of it.

I see poor Svina desperately trying to crank out Sniper +1s and having to sell the NQ at a 50-60k loss now thanks to "some" people...

Vermilion cloak is like 100k profit I think, not that big... BUT what happens if you full fail? That realy fucks you up.

Heh now ya know how I feel :|...nonetheless. They still sell at a hefty profit... unlike amemit mantles or sniper rings. And for the NQ no less...

The HQ for Vermilion cloak AINT worth that much more, it is barely an extra 25% of the RQs cost. That is because people buy it for the refresh effect not the stats it adds. Now a nobles coat vs an aristocrats coat, if you go by te highly outdated jeuno price history there is a 10 million gil difrence.

Whoa, disregard my comments then. 100k profit? Nice, looks like im going to be taking a bunch of gambles in the future

Ill slap myself for posting before researching ^^

I dinged 59 in a coffer party, and (against the recommendations of everyone I know) stopped to get this goddamn thing... And then it goes up in price by 800k. Weeeee~

Actually, verms are really jacked up right now. Total cost for materials is only about 3 mil. The reason they got so high is because there were far less cloaks than buyers. Let's face it, if you paid 3 mil on materials to make a cloak, the last price on the AH is 3.3 mil and there are none for sale, do you sell it for 3.1 mil? Of course not. They're stacking up on the AH right now and you can bet they'll be 3.1 mil again in no time. Also, synthing vermillion cloaks has proven to be bad for my blood pressure.

On another note, nobody synths Noble's tunics for profit as they never sell. People just buy the cloth so they can get one synthed and hope for HQ. Several Noble's have gone up in the past 2 months or so and none have sold at all. When a shining cloth goes up it sells in about an hour. The prices from the tunics that have sold are from a time when the shining cloth was also worth 10 mil, as opposed to the current 5.2. With how rare shining cloths are and how rare HQ synths are for a 87 recipe, you can bet that an Aristocrat's coat is harder to come by than a Kirin's osode. Nobody would want to sell one.

Sorry if I'm off on this, but based on prices as of last Monday when I checked...
Damascene Cloth - 800k each (2.4mil for 3)
Golden Thread - 20k each (40k for 2)
Velvet Cloth - Roughly 2.8k each (5.6k)
Silk Cloth - Roughly 4k each (4k)

It costs MUCH less than 3mil, more like 2.5, to make, people are just being buttholes and charging a 800k-ish synth fee, unless I missed some massive inflation over the week.

I feel ya Davio, as all who know me, I've been trying to snatch me a vermillion cloak for a year now.

Phazen sup man O.o

Almaut and them said you quit (I think it was silverblood don't remember. You coming back to play, heh?

Last damascene cloths I sold were for 930k, so err yea recheck your math. Still they are kinda inflated, for once you're free to blame the crafters :P... least leathermakers are burning money outta their own pockets to make our stuff.

Well it is simple economics. There's no such thing as an unfair price as long as people are willing to pay it.
On the other hand the economics of NM drops is screwed, hence my post a while back about allowing NMs to be forced pop since the demand = greater than possible supply.
As only so many are posible generated a day because there is only 1 NM pop that day(and king arthro is the only sure thing for cloth drop) prices will continue to just shoot up and up because there's no way to relieve the pressure on a high demand market. Seems pretty silly if you ask me. Oh well, I digress...

Heya Sanjo, yeah I'm back for a while, I got my rl in order enough.

As for vermillion cloak, it is a good synth to make money on NQ, but it lacks so much profit in HQ that it evens out. Verm really costs 2.95 to synth when you include all the materials and the AH tax to post. Here's a list of some of the big crafting items for various crafts and the % you make/lose on each.

Vermillion NQ: +11% HQ: +42%
Haubergeon NQ: +7% HQ: +250%
Sniper's NQ: -10% HQ: +700%
Scorpion Harness NQ: +7% HQ: +285%

That's a short list, the numbers aren't perfect but they're really close. Vermillion really isn't that great of a money making synth, and this is the most money they've ever made.
