Vick Reinstated by the NFL

Well if he can't sign with anyone in the NFL I'm sure he'd be a welcome player on ANY arena football team. God knows I think he'd fit in more there anyway. I also agree with Cletus but I doubt he'd make that move. I'm sure his parole wouldn't allow it, but you never know with celebrities. However, the NFL isn't out of the picture yet, Baltimore hasn't back off him but are more assessing than takin' action at the moment.

Young is not even close to the athlete Vick was. All the evidence you should need is there are actually people considering changing Vick's position and thinking he could make the move.

Regardless of your opinion on Vick's dog fighting and how much slack you cut him, if any... Dog fighting simply is part of some peoples culture in the south.

I dont feel sorry for the guy at all. But, he served time and it should be over now. I am not up for treating a celebrity better or worse just because he is a "somebody". You would have served time, got out of jail and went back into looking for a job without an extra penalty. It seems stupid to suspend him further.

On the Pete Rose topic someone brought up!! Commissioner PEDSeilig is actually thinking that option over!! Nice.

I hear that. With all the PED tied players gettin' a chance to go now's the time for Pete Rose. Seems silly that someone can drug themselves and make it but a gambler is still up for trial. The man was good at the game and deserves to be in the HoF more than the *'s.

This is from Pete Rose's page on Wiki:

On July 27, 2009, the New York Daily News reported that Commissioner Selig has seriously considered lifting Rose's lifetime suspension from baseball.[19] The next day, Bud Selig shot down these rumors and Rose will infact remain suspended, indefinitely.

And this is from Bud Seligs page on Wiki:

After a dramatic conclusion of the 2001 World Series, less than 48 hours later, Selig held a vote on contracting two teams, reportedly the Minnesota Twins and Montreal Expos.[12] This action led to Selig (along with former Expos owner Jeffrey Loria) being charged with racketeering and conspiring with Loria to deliberately defraud the Expos minority owners. If found guilty the league could have been liable for $300 million in punitive damages. Selig was eager to settle the case because the judge had previously ruled that the Expos could not be moved or contracted until the case was over. The case eventually went to arbitration and was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

Sounds to me that Bud Selig is the piece of shit here, not Pete Rose and its a shame that old Charlie Hustle is going to have to wait until Selig retires before he has a shot at getting into the Hall of Fame.

Sorry, not trying to derail this Michael Vick thread but it just irks me to see that he's getting a second chance when a guy like Pete Rose clearly deserves one too.

Selig is mad because Rose lied to him. Well no shit he lied. Everyone lies lol. Two, people hate him because he broke the unbreakable rule, but wtf, does anyone actually believe all these players that were taking steroids will be left out forever? Hell no. If a roided player makes it in, you HAVE to let the all time leader in hits get in. Updated on this story, it seems Selig says no way for the HoF as long as he's commish.

Back to Vick. If you look at him from a purely QB stand point, he sucks. In terms of impact he had on his team and wins, he was quite good when not injured, and discounting his last season.

I say that if this can happen, Pete Rose should be allowed into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Bingo. Some might say it's apples and oranges, but I cry bullshit.

As usual, Raesvelg made the most sense with "Vick should consider himself fortunate he's even allowed to play again".

Asking what Vick accomplished. Well one thing he did for his team was something no other team was able to do. Walk into Lambeau field in the post season under 20 degrees and beat the Pack.

Vick Signs 2 yr deal with the eagles! O.o Huge shock to me. Mcnabb must be Pissed

Yea i was kinda surprised about this myself

Mcnabb seemed fine at the press conference, a lot different from what he sounded like when Kolb was signed.

Also..from what I heard, Feeley was told his job was safe as the no.2 QB and teams don't usually carry 3-4 QB's. I'm guessing Kolb goes bye bye, A.J. Feeley is the no.2 and Vick will be used as the "third" QB, but in reality play a lot more at a skill position.

But mike has proven he can run the ball as well as throw it. are we so certain that Philly wants him for a QB?

Vick would be no more than a mediocre back.

The fact that he can run at all makes him better than most of the QBs in the league, but he isn't professional RB/WR level on his own.

Vick's an Eagle, hide your beagle.

What Vick did... it was illegal
None the less he is an eagle
Keep playing McNabb when he still sucks...
Next year Vick will join the Bucs'

Poetry is fun

I hope Vick ends up on the Dolphins at some point, if not staying with Philly.

Beastly wildcat offense, the original wildcat QB
