Video card help

Okay. I am going to Best Buy today to get a video card so I can play FF XI at home and not at Marajades house. I was wondering if you guys knew what was the kind of video card I would need so that I don't get ripped off and would it be wise to install it myself or get them to do it for me. So if you guys can please post your imput.

If i can't get it today I have to wait till monday and i don't think i can wait because i am going to kill so please if you know anything that can help me i will be thank full. I played already and i don't want to quit

If it's for a desktop an NVIDIA card seems to be supported more for FFXI I'd say a decent 256mb VID is good enough,.. the fps for this game doesn't go above 30 so as far as video processing goes it's not much over head... I'd say whatevers in you're budget,... no need to buy the best VID out unless you're going to use it for another FPS heavy game

Isn't the Insprion a laptop series? I'm just asking because I had an Inspiron 8200 and that was a laptop, and I'm not sure how easily you could upgrade a laptop.

Yes the video card is replaceable BUT WITH what?,... most of proprietary latpops such as dell don't have much choice into what vid cards will fit or even function with the machine,... you're best bet is to get in contact with them and see if it's upgradable & if it is... look for the replacement online as it maybe alot cheaper than getting it from them
