Hello guys.

I finally got a new PC with a pretty nice video card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143049

Currently I am using a LCD monitor which has DVI input, but i seemed to have lost the DVI cable for the monitor. The good news is that the video comes with 2 VGA to DVI adapter. So my question is, can I use those 2 adapters and treat the VGA cable as a DVI cable? will the performance be affected?

Thanks a lot in advance.

wow, that question i'm afraid is a bit out of my league...

They won't affect performance at all. The adapters just convert a signal that's already been created - performance is in creating that signal in the first place. =)

The signal will probably lose some quality being converted to analogue and then back to digital again, though. It will work, but don't count on the picture being as sharp as with a real DVI cable.

Thx a lot Tag =D i will try that out.

I am excited to try FF on my new pc coz last night I ran the FFbench mark and scored for 5000+ with my old video card.

Hopefully my wireless network is getting a hardware upgrade at the end of this month so that it wont be my bottleneck, otherwise i'd need to switch back to cable.

What Tag said, I use a VGA moniter and used the DVI>VGA converter to run on VGA rather than what your trying to do, Your quality might be better, but in the end its ending up on your moniter as a VGA signal.
