So I got my new video card installed.

*_* Oh dear jesus I'm in love <3.

It's a Radeon 9250. Good price is why I bought it.

I was curious as toa few things, first off with FFXI:

What do I need to do to put it on the highest settings possible, uncompressed and stuff? Whats the best resolution?

Next:

OpenGL or Direct3D? Which is better? My card has both and I dunno which to pick, what settings to use etc. @_@

Help meh out!

Eh, don't look at me. :X

Anything higher than my card makes this game look awesome.. Even the PS2 graphics. XD

Depends on what the game you play supports.

Yep. Which in these days, is 99% of the time Direct 3D. You do not need to choose, software chooses for you.

As for settings,
Start > Programs > PlayOnline > FINAL FANTASY XI > FINAL FANTASY XI Config

I know -where- the settings are, however, -what- should I set them on? I think I've got it down right....

Enable MIP Mapping is checked.

Overlay Graphics Resolution - 1024x768

Background Resolution - 1024x1024

Texture Compression - Uncompressed

On-screen Maps - Uncompressed

Checked Enable Bump Mapping.

Enviromental Animation - Smooth

That look right for a good looking setting?

This has nothing to do with the video card but i noticed if you turn the gamma down to about 1/4 on all three colors, it helps make the graphics look somewhat smoother. But its a small change.
