Virtual Console: Wii-kly Update

What's going to suck about Secret of Mana on VC, is no taking advantage of internet play =/

That game is awesome with 3 players, and net play could only make it better.

I concur wholeheartedly. ; ;

Eh, who knows, maybe they'll throw us a bone.

And I'll keep praying for an SD3 VC release...

Nintendo's press release only lists one game for VC this week.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire - Super NES - 800 Points

I've never played this series. Any good?

That and Beyond Oasis - Sega Genesis - 800 Points apparently. A good game, but I'm still holding on to my points. D:
Edit: Or was that last week? Weird, it was on the top of the list...

I can't stand Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I only played one game of the series, and only for 1-2 rounds multiplayer. (I think it was 8 or 9)
From what I remember, it's kinda like Risk, but in feudal China. Or some approximation. And there's little cutscenes during (almost?) every turn. It was redonkulous boring for multiplayer, and I can't imagine the single player being much better.
This is probably not the best review, but someone here has to have played it and liked it. lol
And at least I *think* this is the right series I'm talking about.

Today's releases are going to make a lot of Fox McCloud people very happy...

Star Fox 64 - N64 - 1,000 Points
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - NES - 600 Points
Dragon's Curse - TurboGrafx16 - 600 Points

I'm hoping tht 600-point price on TMNT is a mistake (I'll have to check later). An extra buck is a bit much for an NES game as frustrating as that.

For reals. That game used to make me so angry when I was a kid.

I've never heard of Dragon's Curse, anybody know if it's any good?

Awww yeeah, ninja turtles. Never could beat that game but I still loved it. Always got stuck on world 4. There was a point in the game where I couldn't figure out how go on. I just kept running around the world map basically getting nowhere. I need to get my Wii hooked up online real soon.

Fuck you, Nintendo... ; ;
(And Konami too...)

lol, that used to give me nghtmares. I sucked so bad at that.

That, and wasting missles while driving the Turtle-mobile and then not having enough for the barriers. Lame.

I liked TMNT 3: Manhattan Project.

I know that the Angry Video Game Nerd has been posted here before, but talk of the uber-annoyingness of the first TMNT game warrants a mention of this:

It's the first review I ever saw of his, and it's one (unlike Simon's Quest) that I happen to agree with. Impossible-to-avoid electrified water tunnels + completely RIDICULOUS enemy swarms + incredulously difficult jumps = "ARGGGH!" Also, two of the turtles were completely worthless, because they had shit-for-range in terms of weaponry.

I mean, if you lost Donatello and Michelangelo, you might as well frickin' hit reset right then.

EDIT: Goddamn you, Skaw. I was going to switch my avatar to that. Now I'm stuck with obsolete-Carl. T_T

My first rule of any TMNT game: Always play as Donatello. I still fire up the old black-and-white Game Boy turtle game every so often; it's just a fun little beat-'em-up.

Speaking of, it looks like we may be getting the NES Ninja Gaiden on VC sometime soon. Here's hoping.

Im kinda pissed- I got 2 Wiis @ home and mine cant connect to the internet ._. and i want to download these games so badly ;-;- it did conect once, but now it doesnt, i cant even find the signal of my router that is less than2 feet away from and and if i conect it directly it doesnt recognize shit ._.
