It's a super high-speed, gravity defying racing game, very highly recommended if you like racing games.
You race on shit like pipes (both inside and out) in some courses and the tracks are actually designed 3-dimensionally with loops and twists, it's crazy as fuck and they made the graphics look really plain so they could run a rather absurd 30 cars per race and maintain a nearly unbreakable 60 fps throughout.
edit: yes, you heard me right, a 60 fps N64 game!

What I love about F-Zero X and F-Zero GX (Which I also DEFINATELY recommend buying) is that the Soundtracks are all either Techno or Thrash-Metal. It really captuires the mood and gives an adrenaline rush.
Apparently, there's a Storyline Canon in F-Zero... After the events of F-Zero on SNES but before F-Zero X on N64... there was a "Huge Accident" that many racers were involved in and almost lost their lives... F-Zero X and GX go into detail and give each character a brief backstory...
The races started in our time period as F1, Formula One racing... Then "F-MAX", then "F-Zero" as humans on Earth developed intergalactic travel... According to the anime, the famous "Mute City" (a popular race course throughout the entire franchise) used to be New York City...

Dragon Spirit - TurboGrafx16 - 600 Points
SMB2 is a bit of a black sheep in the Mario family, but I've always been fond of it and will probably get it. I can take or leave the Ecco games, although it's fun to control. Dragon Spirit is a vertical shooter, which could be interesting.

I bought Yoshi when it originally came out on the NES thinking it was an adventure game. I was unhappy that it was a puzzle game but it was still fun. It was so hard to get video game news out here
