FFCC:MLAK is OK so far.
It basically teaches you how a Kingdom should be run. You have to Hire and Sanction adventurers to go on adventurers to other areas. You don't see them battle, but the next morning, in the morning report, you actually read the battle spam like in FFXI.
Player1 engages the Goblin A.
Goblin A inflicts 5 DMG on Player1.
Player2 casts Cura II on Player1.
Gained 5 Gil.
Stuff like that.
You basically tell you What Area / Zone you want them to explore, and what their main objective should be. Loot Treasure Chests? Kill the Boss? Gather Rare Equips? And you post it on a Bulletin Board, calling it a Behest from the King.
It costs Gil to sanction adventures to carry out a Behest. And sadly, even though you're a king, you're pretty broke. That's why you have to collect Tithes (Taxes) from your citizens each day.
The Tithes pay for the Behests.
You earn Gil and EXP to expand the Kingdom, and the cycle continues.
... It's OK so far. There are some minigames you have to take part in. Like playing Hide-and-Go-Seek with Moogles... And chasing down a foul-mouthed Penguin named "Pavlov" who calls you named like "You big Unrefined Poop".
I'm waiting for the story to pick up.
