Put the old one back up and go back to not caring about this place please... It's much better that way.
Whereas the old style had quite literally 0.5 seconds of loading time, this style takes at least 5 seconds to load anything I see. This is while I am at work on a T1 line.
If you don't want to update 2 skins, don't just put the old one back up and don't update it. I don't need to see our piece of shit affiliates. I don't need a bar graph showing how long someone has been a member, the Join date was good enough.
If you want to do something useful that isn't gonna make you catch a bunch of shit from the people that use this site, ban Neolinks IP range, put the other style back in place, and make someone who gives a damn about qcdn a co-admin.
I still miss Sculli.

It doesn't take 5 seconds for me. There could be a delay because of other people being on your t1 server. Seriously the only time I have had problems with this format is when I am having connection issues with my router. I have been using it since Nox made this.
What's funny is people are bitching about change yet this template has been a choice for at least 2 months. You know what I kind of like it. Whoever is saying the text is hard to read needs their eyes checked.
Just for emphasis THE OLD TEMPLATE IS TEMPORARILY DOWN. Hell if Reeve doesn't get the thing back up I am sure Cmdr, or Eleib will.

And for the record, Romp? I have perfect vision. There's nothing at all wrong with my eyes. And the criss crossing bullshit in the background bothers my eyes when I'm trying to read. Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean people it does bother "need to get their eyes checked."

That's really my major complaint with the forced skin. Since I've built my new PC, that's the resolution I've been running at, as well. The old layout made allowances for whatever resolution you happened to be using ... anything I wanted to see would make use of all the monitor real estate I had to offer.
Now, I'm forced to the skin's margins, and am left with two glaringly empty, obese, blue columns at the end ... where no text is allowed to venture. Other than that, I really couldn't care less. Sure, I'd rather go with what I'm used to, but I could learn to live with it.
To everyone else, I'd only recommend calming down a bit. It's already been stated that this is only a temporary move, and as far as unexpected board changes go, at least it's relatively mild. Nobody's forcing through a paradigm shift in our entire communal philosophy here, ala Flameboard removal.
It's just how things look. Everything'll be back ta' normalz soon. That is, if we can really rely on Reeve not to mysteriously disappear for another five weeks, and leave things as they are ... there's that to be worried about, too.

Well, when I first tried this style 2 months ago, it did the same thing. The laoding time is about 10x that of the other style on my work comp, my home comp, and my parents comp. I tried it out when Nox first made it, just like you. It's the same on all the computers I tried it on.
You say this has been a choice for 2 months, but now it's not a choice, it's mandatory until Reeve wants to put some work into this site.
And as for the text being hard to read, I don't have a problem, because my eyes suck, and I can't tell it's criss crossed background till I look closely. I'd venture to guess that the better your eyes are, the more of a headache you'll get while reading.

I've been using the "new" style for a while, personal preference I guess. The admins finally come back and do something then everyone bitches about something temporary (old style temporarily taken down) when something incredibly useful happened too (promoted mods to admins, account approval). Well, hopefully they'll stick around this time or at least give the new admins enough info to where they can run the place on their own.
Oh, and this style loads just as fast for me as the old one did and I'm on a dinosaur laptop. Same on my newer pc too so *shrugs*

I didn't like it when it came out. I still really don't, but there's no sense in complaining about it. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and wait for the old look to come back.
In the mean time, can someone fix the little "go to last post" button that is usually next to the "time of last post." Do you know what I mean? It's still there, but it's invisible, and very difficult to click.

That's weird because I don't have that much of a problem loading the site. Either I have less junk on my computer, or theres more people in your WAN than mine.
We now have 3 admin at least one of them will be doing work hell Elei has been on all day from what I have seen. I bet he's working on something.
I have good eyes no problem reading without the pattern in the background. After awhile I got use to the checker patten, and just looked at the text. Honestly I even forgot about the pattern until it was brought up here. The box size must have change when the resolution is higher because the ones on mine are tiny. Hell barely noticeable for the most part except for the empty spaces where there isn't text.
