I think Wak should've told the exp pty that he already told his LS about it and they were on their way or at least notified them about what was going on at least, rather than just acting blindly.
The lack of communication was really what made the situation bad.
I agree ... I do appreciate the forthrightness of Anaeran, and consider him and the rest of the linkshell to be blameless.
As for Wackmidget, however, apologies are still due for leading the party on. He intentionally kept the party in the dark about things, rather than just coming clean about the fact that he was intending to have his linkshell come for the NM. To deceive by omission is still an attempt at deception.
His motives may be more clear, now, but he should have owned up about it. The fact is, he was still trying to pull the wool over his party's eyes, to keep them from taking the NM before his linkshell could get to it. He basically
lied. It's not any different from someone /shouting about how they just killed Leaping Lizzy, to try to trick competition into leaving, or someone putting an ordinary scorpion claw up in their bazaar for millions. It may be a less extreme example of this kind of thing, but the principle is still the same. It was deception, for gain.
The more honorable course of action, in my opinion, would simply have been to let the linkshell know that his party was intending to kill it, and to apologize for getting their hopes up. The five other members of this party had far more "entitlement" to the NM, as they were actually
there, than did a single party member's linkshell, most of whom were at least minutes away from the zone. Having a desire to forward one's own linkshell is understandable, but not by leading other people on who are under the impression that you're on
their side.
