Weaponskill Changes - Post what you notice

Totally spaced on the fact that Absorb-Dex is actually useful now. Awesome.

Didn't have a chance to snapshot it last night, but I got my Martial Bhuj last night.

1797 Steel Cyclone at 100% TP on a double attack sure makes me sing happy days.

I do feel they did go a bit overboard though. I love using G Axe on my Warrior, but having so much acc and atk without wearing any gear is a little much. What they should have done was do 2dex=1acc for 2hd weapons and 1hd weapons get 1dex=1acc this giving a balance to both 2hd and 1 hnd. While yes, 2hd weapons should have better atk it should have worse acc then 1hd weapons.

I don't even have words for how stupid this comment is...

Quick question, since I haven't been following anything recently due to work schedule. What are the best 3 grips that have come out and how do you use them?

There are a few pro-choice grips that I'll mention.

Platinum Grip +1:
+3 ACC
Stun proc (often)

Mythril Grip +1:
+2ACC, +2STR, +2 VIT

Claymore Grip:
Crit +2%

Staff Strap:
DA +2%
You equip them in the "Sub" slot where an offhand weapon would go while holding a 2hander. They remove TP if removed or switched.

Big thing stuck out in this as well, no BRD or COR in the party. Pretty amazing that you got these numbers with that, as my WS I posted last night was also without a BRD. I'm very interested in your exp/hour relative to the previous cannon setups.
You mentioned for Mamools you'll have to consider /nin, also be interested in the relative differences found between /war and /nin, as well as overall party effectiveness with the use of those subs.
Also previously there was always an acc cap pre-food as well (I found it to be around 45-50 acc on WAR) before acc began to lose effectiveness. I'm wondering if this acc cap has been tossed aside for two-handed weapons, it sure seems that way otherwise the DEX=ACC wouldn't be as noticeable.
And finally (My mind has been on overdrive thinking), I'd like to see a Mamook Party with the CRIT+2 Grip, Using Trollbane with a High dex build, and an Amood during First quarter moon phase. The double-attack proc is pretty sick with Amood, and the crits to make up for the lower damage could really be pretty impressive

As far as exp/hour goes, we were chaining them fine. It was lower since we were exping there without sanction since the AC was gone at the time. Could have used a more dedicated puller for the party, we had one of the sams pulling which was kind of silly. The nin should of pulled, since he was essentially worthless besides an initial voke. Don't know if sam cannons will really become any sort of norm, but it was fun either way. Definitely a nice option if you dont have a bard.

As far as the gigas bracelets go, I use alkys on my WS setup. My WS acc was a hell of alot better than before, and all like three or four of my misses combined in two parties would pretty much be attributed to ACC cap. The thing is, I really cant reduce my acc really any more. I was pretty much going with the bare minimum while still using good attack pieces, and my acc was still capped. Ill try and play around with swapping what few pieces I can though.

Still alot of testing to do, and just as a side note, while exping on Deco's, I got consistently the same numbers. Not sure if I was reaching any cap, but my attack was in the 940's for a large part of the exp pt (drk roll + minuet x2+attack food...and still capped acc), and I hit alot of 1914 dmg gekkos. Definitely gives us a new view on the game mechanics.

Edit: COR btw is fucking bad ass, those DRK rolls were awsome. Seemed like the WAR roll was pretty rediculous too, tons of DA's, most noticeably on WSs.

I dunno how you guys think this is stupid.

Last I checked 2 handers generally have A+ skillz, and most of them don't have acc problem if they put in enough effort in it. Now ppl sporting Ruby rings and what was considered gimpy gear can actutally perform quite well. You don't even need a sniper, you can just get a spinel ring and get prolly better result. When meelees don't have any accuracy problem, how is it not overpowered? 2 handers can keep their extra attack as i understand they need it. But that much free accuracy? that's over the top.

1 handers generally has A-, and 1 dex = 1 acc seems about right to balance the gap a little bit. When you got out Doted, out spiked dmg, out ACCURACY, something is not right.

Seriously though, it's ignorant to think that suddenly 1handed weapons are going to be obsolete.

Monks. Ninjas. Warriors (DW)

Just because the 2hand update targeted 2h weapons so much, and gave such a powerful boost in both accuracy and attack, doesn't suddenly mean 2 handers are going to out DoT, outdamage, and out spike anymore than it use to.

It only means that now suddenly, 2handers in merit parties, on HNM's and the like, are more effective than before. Suddenly it's a viable option now to get some of the slower hitters, because the damage output will be similar.

Gimp ass gear is still going to be gimp ass gear. That hasn't changed.

1 handers hit a lot faster and more often. A little less acc makes sense =P

Yeah my /nin setup gets 100% faster than my /drg setup, barring DA'd Jumps. I'm very interested to see how the sponge parse goes tonight as we'll have one of each sub - will the DoT from dual axe still be better than GA?

Next test will be /nin with GA vs dual axe... the way things have changed, GA may very well outperform. In TP gear as /nin, with Meaternaught, I think I have ~430atk base. In the same gear with GA I now have 470, and enough natural acc to open the option of meat for another 100 or so.

The thing is though, accuracy was never an issue, it was just damage that was the problem. Lion is correct, a lot of the jobs that can use two handed weapons have access to A+ skills and already have a decent advantage over the dual wielders in that respect. That's doesn't include the fact that a lot of those jobs also have +acc job traits or abilities, DRK being the only one without off the top of my head. Not only do they get a huge bonus to damage from this update, but they also get accuracy which allows them to add on attack food for another significant boost to attack.

Don't get me wrong, I am loving the idea that I can finally whip out a great axe and not actually have people think I am insane, but at the same time when I play THF or NIN, I would like to be able to compete in the same realm of damage. If I am forced to use Sushi while other melee are using meat without a problem, it sucks. Worse yet, if there is a BRD, I need Acc songs and I am going to be a hinderance to those who do not.

And Tyrath, no it doesn't. Overall, the jobs should be about equal in their capacity to gain TP and when a 2 hander misses a single hit, it does slow down the WS that fight. But a dual wielder misses multiple times over the span of several fights delaying each individual WS a couple of seconds. It's basically lose 5 seconds one fight or miss 1 second for 5 fights (TP is basically linear with time).

sky prevented me from hopping on my drg yesterday. anyone with a 66 job wanna exp tonight?

Are you joking me? Even with this huge dmg/acc boost to 2hand users I still doubt we will match a decently geared war or mnk. But you want to give them more acc....did I miss something?

I dont even know why acc is being brought up in the first place, if you'll notice, everyone is meriting on VT now. Mammool, sea puks, trolls, even the lolmire. If your not capping at 95% on most any job its sad, even using meat.

Show me a parse where you can get 95% eating meat on troll, birds, mamools without the use of madgridal. I just saw my drk friend parsed 93% on bird camp with only +20ish acc on him eating meat while me as thf with capped merits parsed 83% on bird camp. And I had +55 acc from gear, hell I even had ambush merited.

With no axe merits, 37acc (explicit - not counting DEX) in TP gear, and Bergressor, I am still averaging 86-90% with sushi using dual axes. With meat that would probably drop to 76-80%. This is as reported by DvsParse and mostly on mamools and trolls.

I'm not sure what you're using to nail 95% with meat but I'd really like some of it.
