not really, shellbuster is kinda best club there is for the dmg and lvl requirement.
Then I really don't think he should of skilled up his club at all, if clubs suck this much in terms of choice then I don't see the point of leveling it at all.

Actually Blu's get to use that new club from Kimara which isnt the best thing in the world, but not horrible in the off hand either.

Maybe because he wanted to?

BLU with Club is like BST with scythe. That is, they get no good weapons nor weaponskills for the weapon and why they even get it is all but a wonder.

Maybe because he wanted to?

Please of god please don't drag the "I can do what I want in parties" argument into this. People have as much entitlement to what they do in the party as they do amount of space they take up of the party.

Are you kidding me? That club is meant for mages, and there are way better swords that are easier to get as well, go find another excuse.

As much as it pains me to say it, it's pretty decent for Blue Mage, If.. and only if, Physical Blue Magics accuracy is based only on the weapon type in the main hand. I'm not entirely sure if it is or not, but if it isn't, the Conserve MP+7 could be pretty handy for BLU on a slot thats only usefulness for BLU is ultimately to increase stats. But remember, this is if the sub weapon has no bearring on Blue Magic, aside from an increase in stats. It's also 27/217. Thats almost Misericorde-like damage ratio. Far better than a lot of clubs. Did you ever call Thieves gimp for using Misericorde's before the changes to some daggers?

I think you have a hard time reading blue MAGE.
Please, what the hell are you gonna benefit from elemental magic +7? Does the conserve MP +7 even work if you don't have the job trait? There are better weapons out there that are much easier to get than this crappy mage rod. Quit being a gimp.

Offhanding a club would kill your DoT, all for a 7% chance to save a meager amount of MP, unless you're tossing out the extremely costly spells. Would you not get better results using a Leech Scimitar instead?

And yeah Kage, Conserve MP works without having the actual trait. But BLU can easily get the 25% from popping on the right spells, and it just seems theres better stuff they could offhand. Could be wrong, just speaking from assumption.

I doubt that the conserve MP would trump the extra damage from a better sword, whether what you say is true or not.

Hmm you really dont know much about blue mage do you. We can make conserve MP trait. We also have spells that's dmg is based on Hp. So unless you know what your talking about . Worry more about leveling your job to 75.

Leech requires the mob to have MP, though. I agree, against something that does, Leech would ultimately be better.

Funny thing about that. Magic Fruit, a Blue Mage spell, gains a slight benefit from Healing Magic skill. I wouldn't be suprised if any of the elemental damage blue magic spells had the same thing with Elemental Skill.

A Blue Mage isn't always going to be meleeing. HNMs, for example. If it's true(about subweapon,) Seveneyes would be much better than a sword in those cases. I'm not saying it's the end solution for all Blue Mages to have as a subweapon, just don't discredit it because it's a club. Let's not forget it's DPS of 7.47. Sea Robber Cudgel is 7.41 and Purgatory Mace is 7.59. So it's far from awful.

If you're not meleeing though and the stats from subweapon are *not* factored in for accuracy etc but only for stat mods, then you wouldn't need skilled up club anyway to get that to work.

I've never argued that skilling up club in a party is a good thing. If you've read what I quoted, I'm arguing that Seveneyes isn't awful for a Blue Mage.

But...Don't you have to have an elemental magic skill in the first place for the +7 to work? Unless you were to have a sub that had elemental magic skill, it would seem useless.

I'm doing this on the basis that the BLU would be meleeing, in which case I think this club would not be that great. HNMs is a completely different story.

I don't think you would need to. Just like traits, it should work with, or without a subjob that grants it to you. Easy way to find out is throw on a Healing Torque and cast Magic Fruit with a subjob that isn't White or Red Mage. Plus, you could always merit it once as a magic skill and get 2 skill permanently across all jobs.

A majority of their damage is going to come from Blue Magic anyway. Similiar to a Dark Knight using axe/axe for big weaponskills at the expense of DoT. They both have B- in club and axe respectively. If subweapon doesn't affect blue magic, dropping 3 DPS(3.5 if you have HQ Adaman Kilij variants) for Conserve MP+7 could be worthwhile.

Ah, sorry, my bad for misunderstanding what you were getting at. And yes, I agree with your conclusion.

Eh...Even if what you say is true, I still think a sword would be better off hand. Seveneyes isn't a terrible weapon but I still think that there are other swords with great stats too.

And in all honestly, how many people have a seveneyes anyway?
