Well my Chocobo is an Adult now...

Hmm, my first choco ended up yellow, I'ma hold off raising another til people figure out how to actually get the other colors.

Some people have, go to Sandy to talk with the NPC raiser there, he tells you to find an item your chocobo hid, so you go back the nation you raised choco in, and take it on 1 of the 3 walks, short, regular, or long, or w/e theyre called.
Often you can either pick 2 choices, one to search for the item, or continue watching over your chocobo, the chocobo can catch you if you're searching for it though, so it's random, and may not even find it if you search successfully. When you find it bring to the NPC in Sandy for your whistle.

My little girl grows up tomorrow :) /excitement. She has blue and silver tips I wonder what she's going to be like...

I raised her apparently to dig well though v.v; didn't find that out until like yesterday /sigh
 
My friend got a black one, so the colors are in.
He went to Sandoria to get the whistle to call him, but there is a quest: he needs to find an item that his chocobo hid. Anyone figure this out??
 
Yikes~ignore my previous post.. I didn't realize someone had posted the answer to finding the item the chocobo hid. You guys rock! So much information & so quickly. My chocobo grew to adulthood at day 29. He's yellow. Don't suppose anyone will want to mate with ordinary yellow bird w/all Poor stats & no skills. ;p
 
I had to restart my chocobo ; ; she's only 7 days =(
 
My choco grew up and turned yellow :(

I was hoping for a black but oh well he is my baby after all so I will not cast him away just for the colour of his skin :cool:

When a guide is available I will try to get a black one that goes well with my silver armour:spiteful:

Your chocobo seems to have an overbite.

Have you tried Caedarva Mire yet? I'm doubtful since you can't use it in Xarcabard or Glacier, which means they basically cockblocked chocobo use in areas you can't use them in anyway.

all my stats are poor, and it doesn't run as fast as a normal chocobo does
 
Anyone timed how long they remain out for yet? Or if it varies? Several people need to run tests and find out, I would, but she is still an adolecent.

With "Endurance at A bit Deficient" it lasted for 25 minutes. It also has "a bit deficient Strength and runs quite a bit slower than normal Chocobo's. Tested it against a rented and I would say 1/3 the speed...

Also you can continue to raise it past adulthood... So dont worry about your stats for now, They will get where you want them eventually.

I got a Full Black chocobo and I used the egg from the Chocobo on the Loose quest from Brutus.
Wife used the same egg and plans and she has a Yellow Chocobo.

Leads me to believe its random....
Also color is dependant on the father. So If you want a guarenteed color, just find a male that color and breed.

How do you know all colors are dependent on the father? Looking over the honeymoon plans, you can chose to raise the chance that your chick will inherit the plans from eithe rfather or mother, which leads me to believe that they will either inherit the father's or the mother's stats.

They'll most likely inherit both, just more from one of them.
