I'm sure everyone knows about these guys by now, but they disgust me so much that I want to see what the opinions of other people are.

In short, this is a "Baptist" church (more like hate group) that seems to worship anything terrible happening in the world right now.

They own websites like www.godhatesfags.com and www.godhatesamerica.com

Most of you know that I'm a Christian, and I hope that you can keep from associating these people from the religion. These people are not Christians. I don't care how many times they use God in their announcements or not. These people are some of the worst bigots I've ever encountered before.

Who the hell do these people think they are. I've seen alot but this group is a new one on me. who gets off on this shit? people lost their livelihood that day. and these bastards come up with this shit? i dont have the words to fully describe my feelings about this right now.
 
And this kind of thing is what gives a bad name to religion, particularly Christianity. All because a few people take themselves far too seriously and place more significance than makes sense on things written by fellow humans, divinely inspired or not.
 
i did some reading on these people. they are 2 steps shy of being a totally inbreed group of bigots. Their "ideals" are some of the most idiotic i have read about. and the zeal they follow them with rivals those of the terrorists. zealous people are one of the few things that frighten me. these people are the picture reason why.

People like these are what give militant anti-religion nutcases, who exist just as much as the religious fanatics, the ammunition they love to hurl at all believers in God, Buddha, Allah, etc. etc.
 
Solution: Religion should be outlawed, banned, and all bibles should be burned.

These guys where at my school the DAY AFTER tragedy struck and 5 students lost their lives. I'm a very peaceful person, but I have never wanted to kill someone so bad in my entire life until I saw "THANK GOD FOR THE SHOOTER, YOU FAGS" on a sign. I came home and cried because humanity has just fallen this far.
 
And they wonder why so many people have lost faith and are non-religious. I see something like that and it makes me really glad I don't subscribe to organized religion.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Hate in the name of God has been around a looooooong time. These people really believe this crap they're spewing. It's so sad.

Don't blame the entirety of humanity for a small (and I mean small) collection of dumbshits who want the rest of humanity to be as miserable as they are.

I could say "if they really believed in God, they'd know there's a place for people who wish ill against others in mankind", but it doesn't do any good. The fact is that they DON'T follow the teachings of Christ, and really should be ashamed of themselves for slandering the rest of us(Christians).
 
Yeah it sucks for us Christians who follow the golden rule and try to live good lives. I guess they never heard of love the sinner not the sin.

So yeah not all Christians believe that crap. Just the more vocal ones that get media attention do. ; ; I do think the way they protest should be considered hate crimes. Protesting at funerals and such is not cool.
 
these guys have been around for a long time actually. their head "pastor" started it in 1955. they just gained notability in recent years.

Why does it bother them so much if two people of the same sex marry each other? It's not like it's affecting their lives that much. Two heterosexuals will have the same happiness and frustrations in a marriage as two homosexuals.

I bet they are sad, miserable people if they can't stop thinking about things that upset them.
 
There are plenty of Christians who believe the same thing they believe -- specifically that acceptance of homosexuality is "bad for America" -- but they're not nearly so rude and disrespectful about how they share that belief. Still, I lump them together when I hear about some anti-bullying measure going down in flames because fundamentalists are convinced it's just an effort to grant special "protection" to gay kids.

They're an ugly black eye for the Christian community, that's for sure.

Yea, that shows those people know nothing about the Bible. Christians are not supposed to pass judgement. Patience is a virtue of the spirit. What they are writing is not giving testimony, at all.

I saw a bumper sticker today that really spoke to me.

It read:


"God wants to grow spiritual fruit, not religious nuts"

I'm not very religious, but i really wanted to ask that guy where he got it so i could get one too.
 
I'm from Topeka, KS, originally, and I grew up with these fuck bags picketing all over the place. Churches, grocery stores, movie theaters, schools, absolutely everywhere. And they'd have little kids (like 5 year olds) holding up signs that read "GOD HATES FAGS". It disgusts me tremendously.

They religiously picketed my best friend's dad's church, St. David's. My best friend and I painted a couple of SAVE THE WHALES signs and we're going to just go randomly stand among them (they totally would have spit on us, if not out right beat our asses), but my Grandma heard about our little plot and took the signs away. v_v

They gained a substantial amount of notoriety for picketing at Matthew Shepard's funeral in 1998, but had been on the Ricki Lake show a few times prior to that, most notably with his estranged, homosexual son.

One reason many Christian religious denominations denounce homosexuality is because two men or two women can't make babies together; marriage is apparently just about procreation and not about love, happiness, trust, or respect.
