Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat

It'll need some good reviews to interest me. Street Fighter 2 was awesome back in the SNES days but since then it hasn't been relevant really. With Virtua Fighter out, Tekken 5 on PSN, and Tekken 6 coming and Soul Calibur coming, is Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat still really relevant? All these games can really offer over their last gen counterparts is online, which for fighting games we need something better than broadband IMO.

I dont think it will be in 3D. Street Fighter makes a habit of revamping their old sprites, and making the 2D ones as clear and crisp as possible, with a lot of detail. Its something that makes SF unique

Five bucks says it'll be 3D, cell shaded and have some crazy big/open maps for you to run around and tear stuff up.

please be 2D please be 2D please be 2D

I wish they'd make Capcom vs SNK 3 after this, too.

Or Capcom vs anything, for that matter. Those games were the bomb.

Totally picking this up. Out of all the fighting games, Street Fighter has to be my favorite.

I was hyped with the trailer because it showed CAPCOM finally is getting 3D fighting. They need to make it like Tobal 2 or BA Toshinden were for a 3D game with a 2D feel. Those games have the perfect blend. The characters look good, but they can make them look better (I mean more like the Akiman/Bengus/Odon designs).

I'm really looking forward to this game. ^^

Uh...? Street Fighter III is by and large still considered one of the best designed fighting games of all time, it was just released during the surge of 3D fighters as well as right on the tail end of the decline of the arcade, and its home version releases were very limited.

isn't street fighter a sega product? :P which would lead me to believe that it'll be on Nintendo's system.. but hmm

Uh... no? Way off base here...

Street fighter been on every platform. It was on Sega and SNES... really dunno how you could play SF2 on basic gensis controller tho XD. Based on the pic... Seems Ryu having trouble with the Dark Hadou again. Evil Ryu go!!! SF3 style is really great.. i wonder if you'll be able to use any super now instead of just picking one for this series. Can't really judge anything off that sneak peak trailer. It looked like it was going for an 'area' theme but somehow i doubt the final product will try to be like tekken, sc, etc. Also on the picture, i didn't see any SF3 originals: Elena, Remy, Q, Urien, etc. Seems they're basing it off of Street Fighter Zero/Alpha series :( Like this street fighter is gonna be 'after II but before III'

I really hope they do away with parrying. In 3rd Strike, say you've got Ryu versus Remy. Generally speaking, this match is going to go poorly for Remy anyway, but if Ryu is really good at parrying it absolutely destroys any chance Remy has to win. But Sean and Dudley, and to a lesser extent Chun-Li, can rape parry turtlers. So maybe not elimination of the mechanic, but some more balancing in regards to it.

Perhaps have a parry consume part of the super bar, so it makes it a strategic move to be pulled out to turn the tide of battle, rather than a sort of cure-all for enemy attacks. More like KoF's "Roll at the very last second" and Dream Cancels.
