.hack//Roots

Love this show. Much better than the fucking game which tried to pick its story up.

How long did you play one of the three before you took it back to Blockbuster O.o

-_- I own all three in the GU series and played them all, and as far as the original .hack goes I was never able to finish that one (was on the 3rd disc before I stopped). Not to go off topic from this thread too much. But GU was a definate improvement from the original .hack game series.

The anime .hack//Roots is pretty awesome too, definately a nice backstory to GU. Personally I'm not finished with //Roots because I still need to find the last dvd somewhere, assuming it' been released by now, because my Best Buy seems to not be ordering the series anymore.. which pisses me off. They have dvd 1 through 5 then boom, nothing. Grrrr. I really would like to finish this series.

I finished watching Cowboy Bebop (Remix) last week.
((I don't get why they labeled it 'Remix' when it was the same thing. Maybe they pumped up the musical scores a bit. I couldn't tell, just had it playing on the stereo tv in my bedroom.))

Finally bought the series after wanting to own it for a long time. I've already watched nearly all the episodes back when they used to air it regularly on Adult Swim, but owning it unedited is a lovely thing. I guess this might technically be considered my 3rd time watching it. <3 Cowboy Bebop. Kinda makes me wish they followed up on the series and that Spike is still alive. Movie was nice and all, but a new CB series would be awesome to see.

Just finished Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and to be honest, I'm not sure what I think about it. I've never really been that big of a fan of the mech genre. They all seem to have the same storyline. Humanity is in trouble, hero finds an ultra-powered near-invincible mech, hero defeats villians, roll credits.

That being said, it was entertaining, and did pass the time at work, lol. She didn't hurt either:

That's not exactly untrue, Lucki, but honestly, very few anime I've watched are actually all that "original." They each change the characters, the "special powers" and stuff, but the general plotline is very similar. The thing that hooks me about the shows is how the characters are developed. You can generally predict what is going to happen, but it's rare that I'm not able to do that with anything fiction. And yes, XD Yoko is hawt-o.

I only had one minor complaint about TTGL...

Spoiler:
And that's the ending made me practically clinically depressed ; ; I didn't want Nia to dissapear ; ;

I recently started some new anime series and so far I'm really liking Persona: Trinity Soul.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Have to say, was a decent anime with a lot of wtf parts.

Reading currently- Yotsuba&

<.< >.>

Been thinking about Buying "Welcome to the NHK"

It seemed interesting. Anyone ever hear about that one?

Just finished rewatching GitS:SAC tonight, gonna start SAC2 tomorrow night. Seen em both before, but its such a good series, it worth the rewatch.

It was a while ago but the newest Anime I've watched outside of Fumoffu was This Ugly Yet Beautiful World. I was strangely pleased with the ending; or to be more correct, pleased the creator didn't have it go the same route as one of his previous works. Only 13 episodes but even then it doesn't feel like they rushed toward the ending - much.

I need to go find the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, along with half the anime listed here sometime. Ouran Host Club is a good watch as well.

Man the first few episodes, and by few I mean 6-7, of SAC2 make me want to blow my face off. To bad they're necessary.

You know, i kinda feel the same way. Well, except the first episode that episode is sweet. "We don't fear death" "Die Then." And then his head explodes... god times. Otherwise yeah, i'm upto 6 right now and they haven't really felt like the gits episodes as far as the first SAC goes.

"Trial", the first time around, almost made me stop watching. I mean, I know it's necessary and all but I just didn't see a good come back to the series after that. Crazy Japanese pulled one out of the deep depths of their bowels though. I also think the opening song is pure win. Definitely the best of any anime, imo.

Yeah, Inner Universe and Rise are both kick ass songs (SAC 1 and 2 OP) and are sung by Origa whos a Russian singer but also has some songs in japanese. I have her discography and I think she has a great voice. None of her other songs are really "rocking" (best way to put it i guess) like the gits openings, but still good none the less. Also the GitS:SSS opening is also by her called "player" and its also very bad ass. I agree its up there in being one of if not my favorite opening song.

I'd like to know who did the programming for those songs. That's some top notch Trance.

It's done by Yoko Kanno. She did the GitS OST too. She also did the opening for RahXephon (vocals by Sakamoto Maaya) which is beast song as well.
