Just went on an anime shopping spree. :D (gotta love getting your income tax back)

Now I have 4 new things on my list to watch:

Chrono Crusade
Negima!? Spring and Summer specials (OVAs)
D.N.Angel
Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple (season 1, part 1, 13 eps)

I think I'm gonna start with Chrono Crusade. :3

Yeah, I just can't do Manga. I'm completely happy with how the story ended in the anime it's just that it's one of those series I look at and wonder why One Piece is almost at 400 while Air Gear, a far better show, sits at 25 and an OVA.

Anyway if you know more to the story could you tell me somethin', this is the only thing I wanted to know that never grew to fruition...

Spoiler:
Does Ikki and Ringo finally end up lovers?

Well the story kinda goes super weird for them, but so far, no they aren't.

Well that sucks. Glad I'm happy with the anime endin' then.

I wouldn't say that, the manga is definitely very interesting, I was disappointed that the anime didn't continue actually.

Just finished that a week ago, and I thought it was pretty neat. And I have always liked Hilary Haag's voice in the characters she has done in other animes, so her playing as the lead character was a good thing^^. The series starts off pretty normal, but then it gets pretty dark in the latter stages but I'm sure you'll like it.

As for myself, I havn't watched anything in the past week since I have been playing Resident Evil 5 for the most part :p

Still to watch:-
Clannad pt1/2
Rumbling Hearts
Fruits Basket

and been despatched but not here yet..
Lucky Star volume 6 of 6
Negima!? volume 2 of 2
My-Otome (all volumes, <3 Rightstuf bargains)
My-Otome Zwei
Moonphase

It's piling up again, so better get back to watching I guess^^

Well.. I finished up Chrono Crusade. *sigh* Stayed up all night in order to finish it too. It was really good, but so sad too. ; ; I hate crying.

Next up the first half of Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple. The Funimation preview I kept seeing for it made it seem like an anime I'd really enjoy. Lots of martial arts action, comedy and boobs. Winning combination right thar.

I wouldn't say that, the manga is definitely very interesting, I was disappointed that the anime didn't continue actually.

I was really only interested in it because of the comedy, which doesn't reflect well on paper to me. The only type of Manga I read tend to be more serious, like Romance type stuff, which I'll curse Suzuka for until the day I die.

Its a movie, just watched it but I will put it here:

Mind Game

From the Studio that did Tekkon Kinkreet I believe, also the director that did Cat Soup I think.

It is honestly one of the most creative things I've seen out of anime for the first time in a while.

I finished watching the first half of Kenichi The Mightiest Diciple last night and wow, it was frick'en awesome! It's exactly as good as I was hoping it might be if not better than I expected. It is soo damn funny, but actually the way it goes about martial arts is, silliness aside, is quite practical and somewhat realistic. The fights are both awesome, funny, intense and light-hearted all in one. I got several laughs out of every episode I watched.

The only thing that started to bug me toward the end was how some episodes will start out with like.. 8-10 (probably only 5-7) minutes of footage from the previous episode before the actual current episode begins. I mean, I know this is a way of catching up the viewer and all, but jesus.. some of these feel like they take 15 minutes to watch even though I know that's not the case.

Aside from that, I can't wait for the second half of the series to hit stores. It's totally worth it.

Tonight I watched the Negima!? Spring and Summer specials. They were nice, cute, funny stories with lots of implied sexuality. Such naughty junior high school girls. It's so wrong. lol.. but you know how them Japanese are.

Skip Beat! is what I've been watching lately. Waiting for more episodes to come out.^^
I've also been reading the manga, but I don't wanna get ahead of the latest released episode or I know I won't enjoy the anime as much.<.<;

Started watching D.N.Angel. Dunno how I feel about this one just yet. I'm 4 episodes in and so far it doesn't seem bad, but there's really no real super draw to it. The intro in the first episode was kind of cool, but that's about it so far.

I'll give it some more time. Maybe it's just the fact that after watching Kenichi, D.N.Angel just doesn't quite stack up.

Also, lately I'm able easily identify the voice actors in my anime.. lol. It's pretty much the males, lately it seems like Greg Ayres is in everything I've been watching (voice of Negi Springfield and many many other characters). Vic Mignogna's also got a pretty unmistakable voice, considering I love FMA I am kind of disappointed that seems to be the only voice he has. I noticed his voice right away in D.N.Angel. Along with Greg Ayres's voice. The other voices I can easily identify when heard are Christopher Sabat (crapton of DBZ characters and millions of other anime characters, notable for doing Vegeta and Piccolo's voices and Alex Louis Armstrong in FMA) as well as Steven Blum (who doesn't know who he is? Practically always is Wolverine in any newer X-Men game or cartoon, as well as his notable roles in animes like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo). Out of those 4 guys, Christopher Sabat has to be my favorite. Normally you hear him doing a voice that's very similar to his normal speaking voice but perhaps a bit more gruff. Though he's incredibly talented for guy VA since he actually has a wide range of voices and styles that he can use. For the longest time I thought he only did the voice for Piccolo and Vegeta in the DBZ dubs, but he actually also did the voices for Yamcha, Mr. Popo, Shenron, Ox-King, Korin, Kami, Zarbon, Jiece, Recoome, Burter, Raditz, Nappa, and Turtle.

As for the lady voice actors, well.. I can identify voices as far as "I've heard her before in xxx anime" but I just can't match their real names to the voices.

Funny fun fact I ran into. If anyone's heard Greg Ayres's real voice it's hard to imagine the fact that he's really a 40-something year old man. XD

I <3 listening to audio commentaries.

Yeah, most of what I have from ADV or Funi has the same group of people who seem to do everything. I can always identify Vic Mignogna and Greg Ayres since there doesn't seem to be anyone who sounds similar to them. Lucy Christian (Full Metal Panic-Kaname, Negima-Asuna etc etc) and Hilary Haag (Chrono Crusade - Rosette, Full Metal Panic - Tessa) I believe do the voices of Rika and Risa in DNAngel. I always spot their's and Monica Rial's shrill and squeky voice in anything lol.
My favorite voice actresses though have to be Brittney Karbowski (Himeko in PaniPoni Dash, Aoba in Jinki:Extend) and Cynthia Martinez (Sora in KaleidoStar and Kanna in Air). I can always identify their characters also as I just generally like their voices :p.

DNAngel in itself was ok I thought, but not much more than that. I'd watch it again someday but it's certainly not at the top of my league table in my head. Like you said Ecks, it just seems to lack something to draw you in and I thought it just kept the same pace throughout.

I am close to finishing Fruits Basket myself (on episode 20 I think), which is a good anime but I feel that it's lacking in some kind of cliffhanger or a moment that would be somewhat contraversial. It's been going at the same pace for 20 episodes and i'm just itching for something to "happen" lol. All that seems to be happening is new members of the family cursed by the Zodiac are being introduced one by one and giving them an episode or 2 to go over their side stories. The series has good comedy but I would have hoped for a little more action^^.

Probably gonna watch Negima!? part 2/2 after Fruits Basket since it arrived early from Rightstuf.com (thank you so so much :p )

Currently watching: Anything I can to distract me.

Given that I have ~500 gigs of anime, (not including DVDs or VHS, which is another significant chunk) that's quite a bit. o_o

Based on the comments written by the folks here, I've been watching Air Gear, and I must admit it is quite entertaining. Kind of a silly concept for a show but it's a fun one to watch, at least.

The manga gets well past ridiculous. Very good art though. Not bad for a guy who got his start doing porn comics.

Ahh, well in reference to Friut's basket. You're about to get to the much darker part of the anime. I really enjoyed Fruits Basket, it does start out and pretty much stays with the light-hearted romantic comedy until the end. Lots of character introductions and development and then boom. You should like it.

This is truth, in regards to Fruits Basket, and I agree wholeheartedly, it was really enjoyable.

Good thing I'm not a manga-kinda-guy!

But I think you'd appreciate having Obama mind-swapped with a teenage Japanese girl on motorized rollerblades.

Yes, this really happens.
