What Anime/Manga are you Reading/Watching? Part the Second!

I haven't gotten to the following yet, I've just been so busy I've hardly had time to watch and I've been focusing on the continuing series that I enjoy over new stuff:

Kiznaiver
Big Order
Kuromukuro
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
Terra Formars season 2
Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta?
Koutetsujou no Kabaneri

Oh man, well let me tell you that all of those so far have been really good. Except maybe Terra Formars season 2. It's not bad, and I feel like it will still be decent, but it's definitely not quite as gritty and brutal as season 1 plus they are adding some minor cartoony comical quirks to characters at times that doesn't fit at all with the seriousness of the anime. That said, what's going on in the anime has managed to keep my interests.

I haven't dropped Endride just yet because it's not nearly as terrible as Cerberus, and I can handle it's level of generic-ness knowing that I still have a ton of other great anime this season. I don't completely dislike the characters in the show or the plot.

Sinbad is good, though I never expected it to be bad in the first place because I absolutely loved the Magi series, and I had already watched the Sinbad ova episodes. Which kind of unfortunately, is exactly the same thing that the anime series is showing so far. The only good thing is that they seem to be speeding up the release of these first few episodes, which is great since I've already seen everything that's been shown so far because it was covered in the ovas. Presumably, I'll have seen about the next 3 or so episodes of the anime as well since it is the same exact story as the ova. Next he'll be headed to the dungeon in the snow covered lands, meeting the blue haired tribal dude that uses a spear. Conquering that dungeon while dealing with mercenaries hired by the Partavian army being led by Drakon. Waiting for some new stuff.

That's good to hear, I loved Magi, and I'd love to see it keep going, but I haven't had time to watch the Sinbad series yet.

I've watched most of the other shows that I hadn't seen yet. Kiznaiver is very interesting, but I'm not quite sold on it yet just for a lack of direction that the show is taking. It seems like so far everything is just a one-shot and there doesn't seem to be a point to the show yet. I'm looking forward to seeing it develop, I just don't see an underlying plot yet. I haven't seen Kuromukuro yet, but I've been saving it up, as the idea is interesting.

MY favorite so far this season has definitely been My Hero Academia. Who didn't want to be some kind of superhero growing up (or while in their 30's....), and the main character is fairly identifiable, if a little weak-willed, as the protagonist tends to be. But, that's what leads him to demonstrate that he's going to be a true hero; that even though he had no powers, he was still helping others, even at the sacrifice of himself.

Also, I saw that there will be a continuation of the Arslan series, which I'm definitely looking forward to. It was a more unique series from a great studio, so I can't wait until they can continue the story.

Oh nice, I had hoped they would continue Arslan since I enjoyed that as well. Would like to see a few other shows continue as well tbh, like Akatsuki no Yona, and Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers.

I am really liking My Hero Academia as well for pretty much the same reasons. Plus I like a good super hero show just as much as fantasy.

I do agree about Kiznaiver. Though I feel there is an underlying reason for the whole thing, and I feel like we're going to find out soon.

Kuromukuro has been pretty cool to watch, I don't know if you'll like the female MC but I don't mind her, and hopefully she'll grow a bit more as the show continues. You'll see what I mean.

Big Order, big fan. Mindfuckery is practically a given.

Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? - Enjoying for the comedy and "plot", specially after that last episode.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu - So many twists, quite suspenseful in a way trying to figure out what/who/why the MC keeps resetting (dying). It's good, and idk, I like the MC and support characters. (even the bad ones)

Also started watching Mayoiga, which has been pretty interesting in it's own way. It's like a paranormal, mystery, mindtrip anime. A large group of mostly complete strangers gather for a trip to Nanaki Village, said to be a hidden village, in order to start their lives over. Well they find it, and freaky stuff starts happening. Like seriously, I think it definitely hooked me in at Ep 5, but I was enjoying the variety of character types that were brought together in the trip after watching the first episode. These characters all have issues, but that's why they wanted to run away from their old lives to begin with.

As far as Sinbad goes, after the next episode they will be caught back up with where the ovas left off. If you didn't watch the ovas, then that's cool, just start from the beginning of this series and you're good.

Hmm, well I finally got around to watching both seasons of Aldnoah Zero. It was a good series but honestly I'm really glad it had a second season, if it had just ended with the first season I would have ended up hating it due to the way it ended. Absolutely one of the biggest FU endings I've ever seen as of late (in the 1st season). Given how I read people here saying it was full of twists and stuff I honestly expected more of the series, the only twist for me was that fucked up ending.

Thankfully there was a second season that fixed that stupid ending and made the series turn out better. I didn't mind Slaine, until he went completely stupid in that last episode of season 1, after that I just wanted him to fucking die for being so stupid.

So this season is wrapping up, and I've dropped a few more shows just due to lack of interest and lack of time.

Assassination classroom season 2: I was surprised they actually did end the show, I figured they'd just have the story keep going and never really end it.
The Asterisk War season 2: it was fun, and I'm curious if they will keep going as the story is obviously not over yet.
Big Order: very interesting
Bungo Stray Dogs: very entertaining, I'm looking forward to season 2 in the fall. I definitely enjoy the characters in this one
Hundred: not a huge amount of fan service for a harem, which I enjoyed. Overall pretty enjoyable, the main character wasn't a completely clueless moron, which was refreshing
Kabaneri of the iron fortress: I haven't watched the last several episodes, partially from lack of time, so I'm not sure if I will finish this up
Kiznaiver: another that I haven't finished for lack of time, and the lack of cohesive plot is making me iffy on whether I'll get back to it or not
Kuromukuro: Never got to it
Magi: adventures of Sinbad: Never got to it
My Hero Academia: Best anime of the season by far. I can't wait for season 2 and I love that they confirmed there'd be a second season at the end so I didn't have to wonder/hope
Re:Zero: I'm pretty far behind, I'm curious where it's going to go, so I'm going to try to get caught up
Terra Formars season 2: never got to it

Since the summer season should start up soon, I'm interested in the following:

Arslan Senki: Fuujin Ranbu
Berserk Nanatsu no Taizai - loved the first show, can't wait for more
Hitori no Shita: the outcast
Nejimaki seirei senki: tenkyou no alderamin
Qualidea code
Shokugeki no Soma season 2 - Easily the most anticipated for me, I loved the first season and I've been reading the manga since the anime stopped
Tales of Zestria the X
Taboo Tattoo

So, question, been recently getting into One Punch Man and I've been trying to figure out why there are two versions of it. One poorly drawn and one better drawn.

The original was the very poorly drawn one, I believe and it did well enough they have someone else who's doing the art or just actually spending some time/money to make it look good.

I'm just keeping up with Love Live and Re:Zero this season. Also I guess it's not technically anime, but Lightning Fantasy goes hard for a puppet show and I would highly recommend everyone check out the first episode.

So, question, been recently getting into One Punch Man and I've been trying to figure out why there are two versions of it. One poorly drawn and one better drawn.

I didn't realize there were 2 OPM anime at all. I mean, I know there's the one that came out last year, plus there have been some OVA episodes that have followed since it aired. Is there an older version?

And back from the dead, well not really. But anywho I'm here, and we're already halfway-ish through this season.

Anime that I'm keeping up with this season:

91 Days - Really interesting period piece drama, basically set back in the time of mobsters. Though I haven't quite figured out if the setting is fictional or realistically based. Either way, it's been a great story about one boys revenge.

Planetarian - Another drama (and sci-fi), only appears to have been 5 episodes long but it was good. Dystopian future setting where the world (or at least wherever this story takes place). It was short but I found it enjoyable, actually wish there were a little more but it ended well enough.

Dragon Ball Super - "Black" Goku story arc with Future Trunks returning. (Akira Toriyama needs to stop changing character's hair colors lol)

Mob Psycho 100 - From the creators of OPM, this story is more paranormal/supernatural than OPM's super hero story, but so far, just as funny and again we have a main character who's ridiculously overpowered, but Mob is different than Saitama as he's a school age kid and well, just watch this anime. It's pretty neat so far.

Kuromukuro - Still ongoing, still awesome. Mecha, sci-fi, and a touch of fantasy and drama.

Hitori no Shita: The Outcast - Seems Chinese themed, may even be a Chinese anime.. though I haven't bothered to fact check that. Supernatural/Superpower/fighting anime and uh, while I don't know the whole plot yet, it's proved to be interesting so far. Fun characters, and that metal opening is awesome.

Qualidea Code - Action/Magic/Supernatural. The world has been attacked by beings (I forgot the name of them) and some kids were apparently put into cold stasis right after that happened. Some plot has yet to be explained as for why they were put into stasis though, but after being awoken, humanity managed to fight off the invaders but they still come back to attack. The kids develop powers based off of whatever their dream world was when they were asleep, and that is apparently how they get powers, the stronger the dream the stronger the powers were when they awaken. Eh, or at least that's how it was explained in the last ep I watched. Either way, it's been entertaining, though I feel like the characters themselves, mostly, need more development.

Rewrite! - Action/Comedy/Romance/School/Supernatural. I can't really explain why I like this one, but it showed a looooot of potential in the first few episodes, and just about every episode has been fun to watch. It has a cutesy art style but damn, don't let that fool you as it has gotten bloody and dark several times. I'm interested in seeing where this story goes.

Fukigen na Mononokean (The Morose Mononokean) - Comedy/Shonen/Supernatural. This anime seems to be about a boy who discovers he can see yokai one day, then is "hired" by another boy who's job is to exercise yokai and help them into the underworld. So far it's been a decently little story, which slowly is hinting at a deeper plot.

Orange - Drama/Romance/School/Sci-Fi. This story has been really good to watch, really good animation, though there isn't really much fantastical going on. It's pretty much a drama story about friendship and relationships, with a little sci-fi twist to it. Feels train to feelsville, basically.

Arslan Senki: Fuujin Ranbu (The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm) - Second season of the show. Love it! Great characters, great everything, in my opinion. Great show. Action/Adventure/Drama/Fantasy.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu - Another fucking fantastic show that I can't get enough of. I swear to god, I would literally go insane if I had to deal with the shit this MC deals with. (and well, he did kinda lose his sanity for a little while, so.. yeah) FUCKING Drama out the ass/Fantasy/Action.

D. Gray-man Hallow - Continuation of D. Gray-man after a fucklong ass time of the orignal series being completed. What has it been? Like 10 years or something? Either way, this continuation reminds me that I really really really should go back and watch the rest of the original, lol.. back when I had been watching the show it was from buying the Funimation dubs. Which stopped halfway through because that's all they had copyright to do... which left about 60 or so more episodes to watch. Bleh, I'll do it someday.

Taboo Tattoo - Really enjoying this Action/Comedy/Martial Arts anime. Kind of also would include super powers into the mix of things this anime does, since the tattoos give you super powers. Yeah. Good animation, fun show.

Masou Dakuen HxH - Action/Comedy/ECCHI/Fantasy/Harem/Romance/School/Sci-Fi, yes... ALL of those. But mostly ecchi. This fulfills the drought of ecchi anime lately and then some, as the MC's powers have him in a supporting role where the girls do the majority of the ass kicking, yet he powers them up by sexually arousing them. Yes, that's right. And that's the show folks. Silly, but entertaining enough, boob jiggle that makes DOA jealous.

Servamp - Action/Comedy/Shoujo. Thankfully, it's nowhere near as intolerable as Dramatical Murder was, this anime is basically about vampires and their servants. So far it's been a fun and amusing show to watch.

Sousei no Onmyouji (Twin Star Exorcists) - Action/Fantasy/Shounen/Supernatural/Romance. Good little show so far, character development has been good, characters are all interesting as well as the animation.

Berserk - So happy this came back. The nearly full cgi can be off putting at first, but I've gotten used to it now (except for the lack if nipples on nude females). Much awesome, Go Guts Go!

Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin - Action/Adventure/Fantasy/Military. Really enjoyable show about basically one really lazy guy who is a super genius tactician, and though he really doesn't want anything to do with the military he ends up in it and.. well just watch the show. It's good. :)

I never realize how much shit I'm watching until I write it all down. Jeebus.

Also Naruto, because fucking end already. They are at least, or were, back on track with the show and off fillers.

I love Re: Zero, but at the same time I'm really annoyed with the main character because some of what he does is completely idiotic, or he thinks of the worst way to handle a situation. I can understand the stress he'd deal with going through the show, but he's really lacking in some common sense sometimes.

I sadly have not had time for the second season of Arslan, I loved the first season, and I've been saving the second, I just haven't had time to watch.

Definitely agree with Taboo Tattoo and Tenkyou no Alderamin

Ohh ohhh ohhhhh! Nanatsu no Tiaza (The Seven Deadly Sins) second season just started woooooo!!!

Also, not sure what happened to Magi: Sinbad no Boken. I mean, I was watching it, but I haven't seen new episodes for in it weeks.

I think it was only an 13 episode run. I had up to episode 7 by one sub group, and then I couldn't find any more so I changed to a different group and got the rest.

I'm definitely pumped for more seven deadly sins, and apparently in the fall season there's going to be another sword art online arc.

Ah, about Sinbad, guess you're right. I saw all 13 episodes, it just didn't have an ending at all so I expected it to be a longer series. That really blows, but they will likely have another season. I'm thinking they will want to finish it up before possibly continuing with a new Magi series to pick up where that left off. (One can only hope)

Not sure why, but my app, Aniconnex (don't DL it off Google Play store as they had to remove streaming anime from that version, gotta go to their site now) is not quite working like it used to, though it still works great as far as a free anime streaming service with high quality. So I can't really complain too much. Not to mention it has a huuuuuge backlog of anime available as well as currently airing shows.

Just the other day I watched Kingsglaive:FFXV on there and man that was an awesome movie. Actually has me more interested in XV now, because quite frankly I'm still on the fence about that game. Not huge on action combat in my rpgs. Call me old fashion but I just enjoy the days of turn based combat and being able to think a bit more about what you wanted to do before you did it. Games now are too reactionary for my tastes, I mean, that's fine for an action game but rpgs shouldn't be that way imo. *shrug* Kind of off topic, hah sorry.

As far as a new SAO goes, well.. from what I remember being told the next "game" they get into isn't anything like the fantasy ones they were playing, or even GGO. It sounded like a boring premise to me, but who knows, could be good.

New season has started, this is honestly looking like it's going to be a pretty light season for me, but that also works out in that I haven't had time to watch everything I wanted over the last few seasons, so I can get caught up on things that I've been saving. The only shows I'm interested in this season are:

Bloodivores
Bungou stray dogs season 2
Luger Code 1951
Shuumatsu no Izetta
Cheating Craft - I'm really curious where this is going to go, the entire first episode was nothing but backstory explaining the world

There's quite a bit to watch this season, and I'm watching a few of the ones you listed as well Baja. And am interested in checking out Luger Code 1951 once it airs.

Bloodivores, Bungo Stray Dogs season 2, Izetta the Last Witch and Cheating Craft.

Though, while Cheating Craft I thought might be interesting, after watching the first episode I wasn't really that interested, I'll hope the second episode is better, if not, then I may drop it.

Other anime to watch:

Drifters! - Actually has some really awesome animation. Fantasy/historical Japanese setting. From what I gather, badasses from Japan (and possibly all over historical battles in our world) who meet their end in battle, instead of just dying they are "spirited away" in a matter.. and basically end up in some other fantasy-esque world, with elvish characters and whatnot, that don't speak the same language. The ones that get transported to the new world are known as Drifters in that world. It looks like it's going to be pretty awesome. Fights are really detailed and bloody, which I like, from what was shown in the first episode. I'm hooked and I want to see more.

Bubuki Buranki: Hoshi no Kyojin - Second Season of Bubuki Buranki, seems like they are widening the story, which is actually good considering the first season story was somewhat narrow to just the "Main Characters"/good guys group A and the "Bad Guys" group B and a few other secondary characters. First episode was enjoyable.

Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project) - It's a magical girl anime, yes, but.. I get the very distinct feeling that this anime is going to get very dark very quickly. I am reminded of Madoka Magica, which was really good, and also not your typical magical girl series. (which is what made it so awesome imo) By the very end of the second episode we witness what I hope expect to be nearly the beginning of how things can be dark in this anime.

ViVid Strike! - I uh, actually am having trouble remembering what this one was about, so I need to watch the second episode to remind myself, that said I believe it was pretty decent. Labled as an Action/Sci-Fi anime.

Occultic;Nine - Mystery/Sci-Fi anime. I haven't watched this yet, but it being labled as such has definitely peaked my interest and I will be checking out the first episode soon enough.

Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru - Interesting premise for this Fantasy anime. All of the characters are actually weapons given human form, who were once wielded by their various historical masters. Now they go back in time to fight some kind of demonic force that threatens to corrupt/change/distort history for their evil purposes. Not really a fan of the all male (or at least it appears that way) cast, but like I said the premise is interesting enough and since they are almost all different types of weapons they have different types of personalities and personal styles. Amusing characters to say the least, and the anime doesn't shy away from blood.

Soul Buster - I actually just see this on my app and well this is what I see: It's an Action/Samurai catagorized anime, and there's a Samurai chick looking badass on the picture. I'll be checking it out. lol I didn't originally see this one in the line up, but it has now peeked my interest.

Trickster: Edogawa Ranpo "Shounen Tanteidan" yori - Seems rather interesting on the first episode. It's labeled as a Mystery anime, but after watching the first episode I believe Supernatural/Super Power also applies to some degree. There seems to be a lot going on here, and several different characters. From what I have gleaned (and it's probably right there in the extended title) is that there's this organization called the Boys Detective Club (I think, iirc, still gotta watch the second episode) and they are tracking a criminal named Many Faces or something like that, each memeber of the Club seems to have some kind of various talent or ability that sets them apart from normal people. And then there's this kid that doesn't know much about himself, wants to die, but can't, and has some other power aside from not dying where he can blast holes in front/around himself (in a circle around himself) that he can't quite control yet at the start of the series. Animation's good, and I liked the first episode.

Anjin 2nd Season - Anjin is back, yay. I ended up really liking this series and I'm glad it's continuing (as it needed to).

Brave Witches - Seems to be a spin off series of Strike Witches! Or more correctly, another story set in the same world and around/after the same time period as the origin series.

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince: Mirai no Tsubasa - Mecha/Sci-Fi/School/Action. Seems like your typical Mecha anime with brightly colored characters and mech designs of a more Sci-Fi nature and less realistic. First episode wasn't bad, introduction to the world and main characters to some degree.

Also still watching a few ongoing shows:

Dragon Ball Super
Sousei no Onmyouji (Twin Star Exorcists)
Naruto Shippuuden - ALMOST DOOOOOOONNEEEE. I feel they may stretch the show out to at least 2-3 more episodes, and probably will. There really is only enough left in the story to make up about 1 1/2 episodes (technically they could put it all in 1, but we know how they love to stretch shit out)

Very almost tempted to check out:
Nanbaka - Appears to be a very colorful Action/Comedy/Drama of some kind.

(and only because of the absurdity of it)
Keijo!!!!!!!! (Hip Whip Girl) - I mean, wtf. lol from what I gather this anime is about girls who fight in a swimming pool type of arena in swimsuits using their butts and tits (but most butts) to attack each other. It's the silliest wtf thing I've heard of.

Also wth happened to my Seven Deadly Sins?!?!?!

I just realized I haven't seen the second season continue in a while. It just stopped. o_o

Grrrrr I wants more!

-Update-

After being reminded about this and upset that I hadn't actually seen anything new, I checked my app.

And realized that I had missed the 4th episode, but also, it's only had 4 episodes since it started airing August 29th! Ugh. So slow. x_x

I just realized the second season of Arslan also seems to have been haulted as I haven't seen anything new from it in some time. Now I'm going to investigate.

And after checking, I was right. Apparently it just... stopped, after the 8th episode. Which was back at the end of August. I'm sad.

As a follow up to my big post, I watched Ep 2 of ViVid Strike and now I definitely remember what it was about. It's kind of a martial arts with sci-fi/fantasy thrown in slightly, though it's only as far as the actual combat/fights go. Ep 2 actually had some magical girl transformation scenes in it which I was totally not expecting from this anime. Still, a decent anime, with cutesy, butt kicking girls.

the seven deadly sins was just a 4-part OVA, the second season is supposed to come out next month.

I'll have to check out some of the shows that you've mentioned, the descriptions that I saw earlier weren't all that interesting so I hadn't checked on them.

I am also really interested in Luger 1951, it just hasn't come out yet so I haven't had a chance to check it out.
