What Anime/Manga are you Reading/Watching? Part the Second!

Arakawa Under the Bridge was surprisingly awesome, even though it's only been one episode so far and I should expect some 'shafting' in quality sometime in the series. Check it out if you're bored.

I enjoyed the first episode as well. I like a good "all over the place" anime from time to time and it seems we've been gettin' at least one per season here recently. Lookin' forward to seein' how this one pans out.

Finally managed to watch the OVAs to Seto no Hanayome and I nearly died laughing!

Don't think I have seen them so I'll probably try and get them later tonight. I enjoyed the first season though, very funny. :D

Finished Watching the first 50 episodes of Saiyuki. The story wasn't too bad, and the animation in general did get a little better as the anime progressed, though there were still scenes at the end that left much to be desired. The story though was interesting even if it is kind of cliche. What I did find interesting was how all the bad guys ended up not really being all that bad, once you look at their side of things. I'd like to see the second half of this anime to see what other things go on.

Something that bothered me is that on the back of the dvd cases are screens from the anime and there were a few I never saw in the anime. Like Kougaji with green skin, looking like he was beserking or something. Or a scene with a bunch of tiny monkeys around a few of the main characters. Never saw that happen, or certainly don't remember seeing it. Weird. I kinda wonder if they are perhaps scenes from the next half of the series.

Anyway, I'm broke atm and out of anime. So.. until next time.

Well i'm watching the OVAs of Saint Seiya Lost Canvas, pretty cool to see the previous Sacred War, and actually watch some Gold Saints fight, story is more interesting as it advances. Still too long to go but i'm waiting on the 3 more OVAs released next week. ^.^

Also I picked up the anime X from CLAMP, looks good, might have to look at it maybe next week, too much to do this days >.> <.<

Maybe I should look into the anime I actually saw one of the episodes a year or two ago back home intro was pretty cheesy and all, dunno guess I'm more of a manga person

Does anyone know the storyline sequence for Saiyuki? its kinda confusing to pick up where I left off I think I'm at then end of Saikyuki Reloaded where the blackhaired guy nearly kills Goku and Sanzo chases after him and Goku rages into a yokai (kinda fuzzy since it was years ago from reading) and I cant find anything directly after it... Believe the name of the story at the end of reloaded arc was "Only a worm"

I read some of Saiyuki Gaiden but thats like a prequel to Saiyuki and Saiyuki reloaded and I read just now Saiyuki reload blast but it doesnt show anything from the previous arc assuming they're on the same timeline order.

So is it Saiyuki Gaiden/Ibun > Saiyuki > Saiyuki Reloaded then Saiyuki Reload Blast???

so confused, thanks in advance for helping out

I actually looked them up since i plan on buying the whole series eventually

As far as the anime series goes: Saiyuki > Saiyuki Reload > Saiyuki Reload: Gunlock.

Also from what I've read parts of the anime are taken from the manga, but in a rather out of sequence manner and there's more "filler" material than manga material overall.

One volume away from Finishing Hellsing. Also started reading Spice & Wolf's manga, purchased the 2nd Haruhi Suzumiya hard cover, begun reading Tegami Bachi and Hikaru no Go, etc.

Okay, well I recently added a few new animes to my collection. Kind of older anime's though, mostly.

Saber Marionette J (yes, I now know there's 2 more seasons, plus another series/ova)

Those Who Hunt Elves 1 & 2

The Slayers: Revolution (season 4)

and Clamp double feature on blu-ray. Tsubasa The Movie, and xxxHolic The Movie. I probably wont watch the second movie until after I watch that series though.

I just finished watching Saber Marionette J and it was pretty good. I'll definitely have to watch the follow-up series. There were a few moments while I was watching it that I had to face palm due to the dialogue. The voice actors did a fine enough job with their roles it's just at times some of the lines felt out of place or weird. It was a cute little series about man falling in love with special female machines, but it had plenty of action and comedy as well. Though if you ever watch it you'll probably end up hating the Hanagata character as much as the characters in the anime do. Talk about an annoying character, he's suppose to be there for the comedic effect but god damn is he annoying and so flamingly homosexual. I think if they had killed off his character it would have had very little impact to the story and just made things better.

Finished watching both seasons of Those Who Hunt Elves. Pretty funny comedy, definitely. Fun and like-able characters, check. Story, amusingly acceptable. Ending, utter crap.

Everything was pretty good about this anime except the ending of the second season.. because.. it didn't end. They still had over 1,000 spell fragments to collect which means the story still has a lot to go over before it's completed. *sigh* I really hate that. The first season actually had an okay enough of an ending, it was funny and lead on to the second season. The second season leads on to a nonexistent third season, but of course there are only 2 seasons. Which is a bummer because I'd watch the completion of the series, were it complete.

I also watched the Reservoir Chronicle Tsubasa The Movie, which really wasn't so much of a movie since it panned out just like any other episode of the anime. It also had about the same time length as just an ordinary anime episode. So as far as the length of the movie went, I was fairly disappointed. I was expecting something much more ...movie-like. The story was good and all, but it just didn't seem like much of a movie to me. It definitely had awesome sound quality on Blue-Ray, and I suppose the picture was clearer, but I couldn't really tell.

Next up, need to finish the last little bit of The Slayers season 3 so I can watch season 4.

A slight amendment to a previous statement I said. I have just finished watching the xxx Holic movie and it was actually quite good and interesting. Even though I haven't watched the series yet I definitely found the movie to be intriguing and enjoyable and both the Tsubasa movie and this movie actually worked hand in hand. I didn't know until I watched this movie, but both interlap slightly and it works quite well. So the both of the movies combined are wonderful and enjoyable. Bravo Clamp, Bravo. They have some seriously creative writers.

finished reading Fist of the North Star, good series it should have ended when Ken beat Raoh though, everything post that was good and somewhat interesting just my personal opinion there. I may read the prequel

I started reading some AngelHeart and its a decent series

saw naruto movie 3....its alright coolest part was the fight between naruto and hiruko (first one)

and lol at kakashi being suspected of being gay XD that was a good ending

Just purchased Evangelion 1.11 on Blu Ray seeing as 2.22 was just released in Japan... I wonder how Anno will make the ending of the 4th film go this time around. If I remember correctly, didn't people wish death upon him with End of Evangelion?

Finished up the last installment of Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. I have to say it was a great martial arts anime, action packed and comical. Though I wish they had touched up more on the relationship with Miu and Kenichi, perhaps there's more development on that in the manga, oh well.

I have started watching xxxHolic and so far it's been a pretty interesting anime. I'm still waiting for a discernible plot/story to develop, but I am still only about 10 episodes in so there's room for that to happen. Kind of wondering if I'll get to see the time where the Tsubasa characters intertwine in the world of xxxHolic like they did in Tsubasa. They are suppose to be 'sister' anime series after all.

Other than that I still have to finish watching the 3rd season of The Slayers, which I put on hold about 3 years ago, and watch the 4th season. (and eventually buy and watch the 5th season)

Oh wow...

Finished watching Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22, 2.22 was badass!

Spoiler:
Shinji grew a pair! He's stopped being emo! For how long? That's up to Anno when Evangelion 3.0 comes round, but DAMN!

Nice, guess I have to get 2.22. Been looking forward to it though for some time since I got 1.11 so long ago, or at least it feels like its been months (probably has).

I finished xxxHolic and while I really enjoyed the anime all the way through, it was one of those anime's that doesn't have any completion to the story. Yuko kept going on about how Watanuki (spellings may be wrong) would go through some kind of transformation. What she meant by that I don't exactly know, but it sounded very profound and yet there really wasn't any profound transformation in Watanuki, at least not in the anime. I guess it goes into more detail and story in the manga. *shrug* I dunno.

But it certainly doesn't finish at the conclusion of the anime and I really hate it when an anime does that. xxxHolic was a really brilliant anime other than that major flaw of being incomplete and as far as I know, it only has 24 episodes.

I was also a bit sad that the encounter with the Tsubasa characters only takes place in Tsubasa. That would have been fun to see from the other side of the mirror so to speak.

Began reading a manga called "Psyren" today and wow, it's really interesting. I can't exactly say anything about the premise though, otherwise it'd be spoilers.

Not updated in fawking ages so probably forgotten a few series I have watched recently lol

Watched (in order of being watched):-

Koihime Musou
Shin Koihime Musou
Best Student Council (rewatched for 2nd time)
Angelic Layer
Aria The Animation
Aria The Natural
Aria The Origination (plus OVA's, extras and stuff)

Currently watching/rewatching Clannad since I exchanged my non dubbed DVD's for the new English dub done by Sentai Filmworks/ADV. I think a few of the actors they cast could have been better suited to other characters but that's just my opinion lol. Still enjoying it so far :)
