What are _you_ afraid of?

Spiders *shivers* although since I divorced my first husband I can now kill them IF I HAVE TO! The funniest spider incident happened not long after my current husband and I got married. I was going to the bathroom and all the sudden this spider comes down right in front of my face. I immediately started screaming for my husband...who is wondering what the hell happened...did i slip and smash my head on the toilet or what?? lol. He was laughing so hard as he sees me sitting there leaning back as far as I can...screaming for him to "get it! get it! lmao

I actually am VERY creeped out by spiders but only react in extreme ways when startled by them.

My other phobia has to do with straws...especially the kind McDonalds uses...I am seriously struggling with even thinking about them right now..lol I HATE when people squeek there straws in the plastic lids..that is way worse to me than nails on chalkboard. I have this VERY irrational fear of holding a straw..falling and having it poke in my eye..lol

I have overcome a fear of falling and breaking out my teeth (actually did break my front teeth in 5th grade) I used to dream (nightmares really) about falling and breaking my teeth. That finally stopped for some reason.

I used to be afraid of "the thing under the bed" I would always have my bed next to the light switch so that I could get into bed and THEN turn the light out. I finally made myself sit on the bed in the dark until I was no longer afraid.

The general arguements from people NOT affraid of spiders is they keep mosquitos from taking over the world by eating them....

Birds also eats insects.....

Put more birds and leave us alone with those damn spiders!!!!!

In terms of the insects (especially spiders) in general, I do not fear them as I do fear an infestation in my home. When I am outside, I am literally their protector. I always discourage my friends from hurting any insect while outside. This is ironic, because if I see any insect in my home, I am so scared of an infestation to the point that I go insane and kill them as fast as possible....meh

Now here is my real fear: Power outages. I don't fear the dark, but I do fear everything shutting off suddenly. Not only does it startle me, but with all the movies and horror flicks that I have seen to warp my mind, I always feel like I am in danger. Whenever a power outage occurs, I ALWAYS grab the nearest weapon, whether it is a 9-iron, a kitchen knife, or my sweet katana. I'm no Rurouni Kenshin but I can get the job done

(I call it my sweet katana because this one (in particular) is REAL. I mean real, as in made in Japan, not your local Jim Bob factory. I have a good friend who is Japanese but moved here to the U.S. for his dad's job, so he gave me an authentic katana for my 15th birthday after he came back from visiting his grandparents during the summer. This thing is extremely sharp, if any of you have seen a hot knife through butter, this sword went through a mattress the same fashion)

Sorry for the rant about my katana.....

<German Accent> I am a nihilist, I fear nothing. </German Accent>

I'm afraid of:

1)Clowns: How could something be funny when they are so damn creepity?

2)Heights: Which isn't a very good fear to have when you live at the foot of Pikes Peak

3)Ghosts: I don't know why I have this one. I just have a tendency at night to go looking over my shoulder to see if somethings there.

I used to be scared of being in front of a crowd but I made myself get over that by trying out for bunches of plays and stuff in highschool so now I'm mostly over that one.

My fear are all volleyball related, I always freak out when:

1)The possibility of spraining or breaking my ankle. (Just the thought of jumping and landing on a volleyball drives me nuts)

2)The possibility of my knees hurting, learned the hard way to trying to dig the ball diving and landing and rolling the right way. Hitting your knees on the floor at full speed diving hurts like hell.

I used to wear kneepads when I was still learning, but I pretty much don't need them anymore. :D

But Shay, those arn't UNREASONABLE fears. I mean, You could easily get hurt playing volleyball, yet spiders and snakes arn't worth being afraid of, cause they can't really do anything to you.

such a lie... ever see arachnaphobia? i did when i was 9-10 or so, i'm 22 and i still run like a school girl with her panties ablaze when i see a spider

Yeah, and everything in real life is just like the movies right? Give me a break, your average house spider is perfectly 100% harmless.

That little girl from The Ring.

Sometimes if I'm lying in bed, I'll randomly just start thinking about that movie. If it festers long enough, I'll start seeing her little head outlined in various shadows throughout my room.

At this point I'll /sigh, turn on my reading light, throw a cd on, and try to pass out with my eyes open.

I despise my irrationalities.

You can pretty much copy/paste the movie/supernatural character from any stupid ass 'horror' flick I happen to see.

Im scared of Heights
and if i watch a scary movie im scared for weeks i scare really easy

@_@ This isn't really fear..more of a pet peeve and annoyance

People who do not wash their hands after using the restroom..or worse..people not flushing the toilet..dear god!

What makes you in the rush to not go flush or wash your hands? Is your food goina get cold if you dont eat it for a simple 5 minutes? Seriously, I don't even wanna touch your hands if you can't wash! I can hear people not wash/flush and I just wanna scream at them and tell them to do it! for a 14 year old..I seriously dont wanna parent around a 40 year old on simple bathroom stuff...

I can't even touch the door handle without something covering it..so I use a paper towel and open the door and throw it away.

BTW: Spiders were the biggist mistake ever made in the world

yes.

Growing old alone :|
i agree im 15 and i fear i will grow old alone too
AND umm im afraid of the dark and everything dark it self

First off. I can't be afraid of spiders, because I can take a spider.
I have nothing to fear, not even fear it'self. There is one thing I am afraid of, and that is simply dying alone. Corny as it is. It's a big deal to me.

I've seen ghosts, I've interacted with them, and I've over come them. Not a big deal. Meaning I used to be afraid, but now they are just there. Most cannot hurt you, so it's better not to worry about it. When ever I sense that a ghost can hurt me I think, if it can hurt me, I will hurt it back. Simple as that

To all who are afraid of the dark, I've seen afew posts. Just to scare you, it's better to not know what's there, then to know what is  Think on that!

...
