Make the white black, or something much darker and win... otherwise it wastes energy (/em digs up the old news about google wasting energy because its all white), and it hurts the eyes...

I think the "too whites" have it right. Also, it is hard to see the delineation between each topic.

If I'm not mistaken, a while back we could change our colour scheme here, couldn't we? Perhaps the new design would be nice if we could change the colour and style to accomodate the people who like certain colours better?
