I believe that PWN actually comes from a mispell in a warcraft game. Where when you won, instead of what should have come up "own" it actually came up as "pwn" so I belive that's the orgin of that word if it helps.

"w" is actually how the Japanese say "LoL" their word for Laugh starts with a W... hence "w"... we just kinda picked it up.

actualy, i believe its older than Warcraft, since i remember Seeing it while playing Starcraft before warcraft was all that popular online, so it may have originated there. Or it could simply have shown up at the same time as "Leet" on CounterStrike.
