also in an exp pt a pld/sam with gsword is technically more useful since pld only exists in exp currently to pretend that it's even remotely useful so actually dealing damage would technically help the pt more.

JRS argued with me about Hachiman Domaru being better than a Haub. . . I gave him a shot in a nyzul run and he didnt pay attention to what anyone was tellin him. He would aggro everything in the zone -. - Aside from him already being shit he afk's to get high. Also he claims JRS isn't his main Character. Random I know. But it was random when my brother got that tell from him for just checking his gimp sch.

Two days ago, I was leading a party at the leypoint, and he comes on his sch/nin to harass my party, saying his party went on for 14hours and that he got everyone in his PT 10 levels, then proceeded to call us amateurs, and to "rub" his chocobo's nether regions in our faces.............really felt sorry for that chocobo.........yeah, avoid JRS, he's bad news all around.

True, but my comparison is that while he might be a great DRK, without a subjob he will never be as good as any other DD with a subjob. Gear can only account for so much; Even the best Paladins geared to swing a greatsword won't do it as well as a DRK, or a War, just due to the lack of offensive JAs.

White Mage is similar; It might be able to hit things in a merit party, and put out decent WS numbers, but it is not in the same category as a top-tiered DD with the right gear and sub.

These things all work, and with the right support, they can be downright scary, but conventionally, they will never, ever outperform their respective competition. While a DRK is a capable DD in the right situations, a DRK without a subjob will never outperform their competition.

I'm looking at it in the exceedingly cynical point of view; Looking at cold, hard numbers in terms of experience points in a party. If there's a DRK with no sub seeking, I would take literally any other DD seeking over him, unless I knew him personally, at which point I would try to convince him to use a subjob. And I mean any DD. I'd take BST/NIN over him.

Trying to achieve something difficult is admirable in it's own right, but when you drag 5 random people into your showing off from 1-75 for a nonexistent Title, you're inconveniencing others who are playing the game "right."

I'd expect the same stance to be taken if you had a RDM trying to heal in exp using /SAM, or a BRD/BST, or any other nonsensical combination. DRK/Nothing is actually worse than any of those combinations because you lose out on the base HP and Stats that even "incorrect" subjobs offer.

If you're going to do something as "cool" as level to 75 with no sub, do it solo. I'm all for people challenging themselves, but there's no need to try and force a greater challenge upon other people by handicapping yourself and, in turn, handicapping the party you're in.

I've seen some damn impressive BSTs, there are a few in my linkshell, and those guys are incredible, but those numbers still come from dual axes, which sadly are not a two-handed weapon.

As far as I understand it, a well geared DRK and a well geared BST shouldn't even be a contest. Could be wrong, though, my experiences with them in tandem are very few. Still, I think my point got across.

Nah, was just picking something that never gets merit parties for being a "bad" DD. The list is basically SAM/DRG/WAR/DRK or gtfo, especially in pick-ups. Monks get picked over BST. I think the only thing that's worse off in an exp situation is a PUP.

A while back me and a few friends saw Jade shouting int WG for gil and for people to buy him items, we invited him to the party tele'd his ass then retraced it back to the past.

Every chance we get we invite him and to that to him and now he try's to avoid us, fun.

So although I agree people shouldn't be gimp, I think as long as they try in the party, i'll have fun and be happy.

I think i'm in the realm of trying for example: i have decent gear, some god gear, hq staves, just aquired a Genie weskit so on and so forth.

Someone who isn't trying, brd/bst, No sub job, no food in exp, missing spells, not casting spells, so on and so forth.

So maybe be a little clearer on the later posts. If you comparing people to the leet, well then i'm a gimpy gimparu.

No the OP was about people who don't care about parties. Using the wrong sub/no sub only show's you're trying to powerlevel the job up to 75 and don't care. Which that wastes other peoples time and ruins the game for them.

And Gred anyone who's made a decent merit party(20k+) knows thfs can tear birds apart its the fucks that make 10k/hr merits that don't know.

I wondered if/when I'd see him mentioned here. I just don't read the boards enough or didn't pay attention if he has but this is the first I've seen him mentioned. Sorry to hear I'm not the only one who's ran across this guy.

I first found noticed him when he was leveling sam 50-60 ish in Jueno. He was /shouting for party over and over. I don't recall what the shout was but it was retarded.

So for the next several days, I'd send him tells from myself and all my mules "Fag". Yeah immature and wrong. But the funny part is, he either doesn't know what "/blist add <name>" is or likes the insults. He'd tell back to myself and the mules "STOP CALLING ME THAT".

Immature on my part but I enjoyed it.
