What is the appeal of Warhammer?

As far as the original question of this thread... I have been interested ever since I heard they were making a warhammer MMO. My friends and I, during our college years, played a few rounds of Warhammer RPG for shits n giggles. Also, my friend Stephen got into the closed beta, he says that while the game interface is exactly like WoW, he's having a great time with it so far.

Ever since my interest in FFXI has fizzled, I haven't been able to find a game to replace it. I think Warhammer will be the one to do just that... (either that or Diablo III or Aion XD).

I wish people would stop sayin' this. I figure most of them have never played an MMO prior to WoW, FFXI aside it's one in a million with its crafty Macro system, but it's still annoyin'. A better phrase is this, "It has the same U.I. as about 90% of the CPU RPG/MMO genre." The U.I was used long before WoW and will be used long after Warhammer is gone.

he used that as an example for me because he thought that I had played WoW before. I had not, but I still know the gist of the UI. Anyway, its merely an analogy and, whether you like it or not, WoW is well known and popular. So if someone says "the UI is like WoW" MOST people would, in turn, know what to expect from Warhammer's UI.

Still keeping White Lion as my main though XD Yay get to play the beta again in a few days :3

I am thinking dark elf sorceress or witch elf for destruction. And then I also want to make either a witch hunter or a white lion.. not sure XD

I thought that to get into the open beta you just had to sign up and download the game from the site?
 
Nope. Mythic decided to skew the definition of "Open Beta" to "Bought Beta." Not like it matters, their Open Beta is just a week long stress test. You're locked at level 20, so it's not like you can level up any.

That and the fact that your "open beta" toon won't even transfer to your actual account.
 
Slight update, beta codes for Bestbuy.com customers were just sent out and I'm in queue for the beta client download :)

That rarely ever happens in the first place.

However, a pre-order beta code gives you access to the head start, I think it opens up the game 3 days ahead of the 18th (the day servers go live).

Mad Dog Pass, order side right now I believe is where most of us are heading.
 
I'll probably be sticking with barak varr server in Open beta. If that changes I'll post it here for shits n giggles.
 
This beta download is too big for its own good.

What masteries is everyone planning on shooting for with their classes?
