I'm using /RNG through the 20's and I'm told that from 30 onwards you'll want to stick firmly in the /war, /thf, /nin camps, depending on situations.
The /rng subjob gives you an ACC bonus, plus if you're hurting for TP, you can use Sharpshot to get some good Ranged attack TP. The +ACC also means you can think about stacking more +STR gear and food, rather than looking for +ACC. This honeymoon only lasts for the 20-30 stretch, but as soon as you hit 30, your choices narrow.
Keep in mind that until 60 /THF is a really good way to steal hate and get killed. Or at least take some damage you might not otherwise be taking, using more MP and slowing down your WHM, and thus slowing exp. If you have Big Number Syndrome, /THF is your baby.
WAR offers you the best bonuses you can pay out over time. Last Resort, then when it wears, Berserk. You get Double Attack at 50, that kind of thing. It'll help you avoid Big Number Syndrome (BNS) if you play it that way.
There was a pretty indepth study of DRK subjobs at Allakhazam.
I'm fairly certain it covers every subjob barring the ToAU ones.
Speaking of which, soloing to 20 DRK with /BLU was awesome.
