What job do you get rusty at quickest?

I played RDM yesterday doing some CoP/Sea stuff and I played like a piece of shit. Not played RDM for a while and I just felt slow at doing all the basics. People died because of me, timing was crap and decision making was garbage. Gonna give RDM a miss.

BLM and WAR seems a lot easier to get back on the saddle quickly. NIN kinda somewhere in between.

I don't get rusty, I'm just too awesome.
 
I find that rdm is definately one of those jobs that you can't just jump into without a brain and have the capability to perform at top notch. But it usually doesn't take me that long to get into again..half an hour tops.
 
i was definately rusty when coming back on to play on my RDM. took me an hour to get all my macros and configuration the way i wanted. but then again, i only had about a 3-4month break :/
 
Definitely red mage for me, too. I've recently started to level it again (so close to 75 on it), and my first couple of parties, I REALLY felt like a n00b. After several months away from the job, my reflexes were just ... shot to Hell.

Especially with the faster-paced style of Aht Urhgan areas, I felt a little overwhelmed.

I can say, however, that your timing, reaction speed, and judgement/senses DO "come back to you" fairly rapidly. Then again ... they go away again rapidly, too, as I found out in a party on the second day.

A job like red mage is definitely a "use it or degrade" kind of thing. I typically pick black mage back up a lot more quickly after long absences. Then again, 90% of my time is spent on black mage...



Do any "career" red mages find their instincts faltering like that, I wonder?
 
I've found that when I would take long breaks from WHM I would "lose my touch", so to speak. My reaction time for cures, and my ability to recognize status ailments when way down.

Felt like I was a Dunes noob all over again. D: Just gotta get through it and get your rhythm for the job back.
 
i dont lose touch on any of them. my thoughts of this game are like riding a bike, once you learn you never really forget. i was gone for nearly a year and i was right where i was respawnce wise when i came back from when i stoped playing.

Somewhat, I took a 3 month break a while back after having played RDM for a good year and a half... And when i came back for the first few hours i was playing RDM i just could not navigate my macros with the speed i normally can. It was pretty abysmal by my standards, though at least it wasn't as bad as those RDMs who don't have a brain.

I'm in agreement that your reflexes and your know-how come back pretty quickly, though. After those few hours i got back to how i played before with some fair ease and it was all rhythmic again.
 
After not exping RDM for some time (about 8 months) ... yeah, definetely got rusty. But it's not my fault Rappa died, I swear! >.>

I'd have to go with Whm being a close second, followed by ... THF in the DD department. But most DDs aren't -too- hard to get back into, I don't think...
 
Red Mage sucked getting back into after a 7month break. I couldn't keep my refresh/haste cycles, and forget about main healing in cannon parties. It took me a few days of real hard exping to get back into the swing of things.

I get rusty on NIN when I dont play it.
 
If i play another mmo for too long sometimes i gotta practice with nin abit before its safe to really do anything with it lol
