2 reasons Sculli.

First, I would want to leave rather sizable gifts to some people. That and I want the stuff gone so my temptation to come back would be less. Certain things like my set of "Alanon Brand" of HQ staves would be bequethed to someone.

Also, I kind of curious what my accumulated "worth" is. I mentioned in LS chat last week, that I want to accumulate 99,999,999 gil, buy one of those dumbass roses out of someones bazaar, then delete. Im not sure I'd quite hit 99,999,999, but Im pretty sure that if I sold EVERYTHING that it would get me close enough that a few good crafting session would get me there....

When I left my old server, I wanted to leave a "legacy" to one of my WHM friends who had never had ubar-gear before, so I let my RL friends strip my account, sell everything, then use the gil to buy her a Noble's Tunic.

It pleases me that, in that way, I can have passed on something really nice to one of my friends.

That, and it amazed me that I even HAD enough gil to buy a noble's tunic straight-up just by selling all my stuff, lol. I think everyone has that curiosity as to how much they actually have in assets. :nyam:

please post your party DD numbers to back up your claims. What do you sub? What food do you eat? What is your high weapon skill damage? what gear?

Me, I've tried /DRK /WAR and /NIN in parties, with Haubergeon, sniper rings, chiefkabobs, sushi, life belt, every piece of gear I could to squeeze every bit of DD out of this job, the results...... not even close to any other melee as far as DOT goes. We are only as strong as our pets, and we all know jug pets suck on anything above Decent.

If your lucky enough to find an area with a party with even to decent match charmables, you will fair well, but even then there are big problems, with the update, even more

Maybe you have partied BST sucessfully, but every experience I've ever had has been crap

Check out allakhazam's DD figures on there BST board. One BST compares his DOT against several other jobs.... we are last. I'll link it when I get home. This isn't a guessing game and it isn't you being a more loyal BST than me, it's accepting the realities of the job and I love it for being more than a simple DD. I love BST, it's my favorite job ever. You can do things no other jobs can, but we are not party DD characters like DRG, DRK, WAR, THF, SAM or MNK. We weren't designed to, we were designed to rely on our pets, to get us exp. It's why there wasn't a leave function and a big exp penalty for pets.

Calm down and chill out. Don't know why you mentioned DRG, I like DRG's plenty fine. Please refrain from petty name calling too.

I'll have 84 or 85STR at 56. And whatever STR Sole Sushi might give. And 250 attack. Most DDs of that level, unless Elvaan, tend to float around the low 70s range in STR. I'll have 250 attack, most DDs I've partied with at 54/55 Are at high 230s at best. Oh f-!k, if we suck at DD, what's the rest of the game?

Why make new or tougher mobs when you can just pick off people's jobs one after the other....making us weaker so they don't have to put in any actual time they would have to pay people for? Gonna say, what they did to BSTs hurts them, but doesn't kill them completely. If you truly love the job you will find a place that will suit your level. Or you can even take up duoing, which many people did even before this patch. In every place I xped up to 74, the pets have been relatively close to eachother...all the time. So just keep looking. Don't give up, it can still be done.

And some are right, remember the days of 1-35.

lol, you don't get it. If you just want to party BST, that is fine, noone says you can't, and those stats are impressive. My best guess is you sacrificed accuracy to get the huge attack stats, cause believe it or not, BST has low base strength for a melee. I don't know why you even care about the nerf since you just want to party anyways.

The fact is, without gear and/or sub, we have no attack traits or abilities, we have low base strength, we get no accuracy +, we are a WAR, without double attack, lower strength, lower vitality, no berserk no agressor, no warcry, etc. we have an A- in axe, that is only viable weapon we have until level 75 and Spiral hell, that we don't dare duel wield for a party cause then we sacrifice attack enhancements gained from other subjobs.

Our only strength is finding a decent or even match pet to use in party. and if we do we may have to worry about it agroing or linking after leave. Dieing and replacing if that happens.

Despite what you guys or SE says, it is clearly obvious this is not a party job. We are the sum of our pets, just try soloing an EP without them and you'll understand.

Insult me, say what you guys want, it doesn't change the fact that this job has been ruined by a rediculous update that didn't need to happen

I've really enjoyed levelling BST (only 38 so far...) and know a few really friendly BSTs, but I have a feeling that this nerf is intentionally aimed at BSTs, because of the way a lot of BSTs behave.

Take a look at any BST forum and count the number of posts on BSTs boasting about the number of players they MPK... It isn't the odd post, it's a LOT of posts, and a lot of BSTs supporting MPKing, and it would have been naive to think that SE could have ignored it forever...

I haven't got to the point where the change will affect my playstyle yet (all of the changes actually help me at my level), but i'll keep playing it for the moment...

I don't think the nerf is going to hurt me as much as most, considering I've gone from 12 to 37 in a static duo with Neyla and will probably do that to 75, BUT...

It could be worse. At least we still have the job. Those poor Animal Handlers from Star Wars Galaxies got royally fucked over. Their job was completely eliminated.

The nerf sucks either way. The "no aggro until it gets home" solution would've worked wonders.

Avoid the Citadel and anywhere with bombs for a while, or at least be cautious. AoE MPK still works and I've read on different boards that it's going to be utilized like never before.
