What was your "Gateway" Anime?

Thanks to this thread i am now downloading 6.69GB of samurai pizza cats, thanks bastards D:
 
I remember seeing Aeon Flux as a young kid on MTV or maybe it was comedy central...Cowboy Bebop and DBZ reinforced it. Though I never really liked DBZ, I watched it for some reason.
 
If anyone has a non-real player torrent of samurai pizza cats would they please PM it to me? i know posting that stuff is against the rules, i'm not sure if asking for it is.

nope, and as we all know Real player is the crap produced when fail eats too much shame. also it blurs and has a very small screen size for it not to look like shit.
 
I'm pretty sure you could find a codec that allows you to view .rm files in other players.

Cowboy Bebop, FMA, DBZ, Inuyasha, etc were my few firsts, along with Bleach later on, and a handful of others.
 
Mine wasn't even "Anime" but a movie based on "Manga".

I believe those, plus Robot Carnival, were what started it for me, too.
Possibly DBZ first, but I remember staying up late one night to watch all three of those in one sitting, as they were airing on CartoonNetwork. I think I was... also 7? Maybe 8 or so.

All I remember is that I adored all of them, and that Twilight of the Cockroaches made me cry. XD

My first favorite was (and is so far) Cowboy Bebop, of course.
Although currently Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is competing for the number one seat.
 
I believe the first anime I have have seen was way back when Toonami first started up. The shows that were on then I guess got me hooked. XD
 
Not really that big of an anime fan, but I watched pretty much everything on Adult Swim growing up. Wolf's Rain, Trigun, FLCL, Case Closed, Cowboy Bebop, etc.

On a side note, I like to think of myself as a tough guy, but good Anime Soundtracks like "Gravity" by Maaya Sakamoto or "Green Bird" from Cowboy Bebop being great examples, really bring out the little bitch in me :/
