What's for dinner?

There's some meals that I'll never pass over. That's sirloin medium rare with cheese and onions, poppy seed chicken (it's in a sour cream/cream of chicken soup sauce with ritz crackers backed on top), my mom's chili (it's a really sweet chili), chicken picatta, chicken parmavagina, and chicken paprakosh with dumplings.

As you can see from this post Romper finds breaded chicken vagina delectable.

You guys are crazy, how can you not like onions?

Not only are they tasty, they are also healthy.

For one, they contain anti-oxidants such as Quercatin, which are good in order to prevent tumors, and most importantly, prostate cancer for us males. It also acts as anti-inflammatory. Onions are good to prevent or combat the following conditions: cancer, prostatitis, heart diseases, cataracts, allergies, inflammations, respiratory diseases such as asthma. It can also work as anti-depressant. Additionally, as onion is rich with chromium, its also helpful in case you need to take insulin, as it helps the cell's respond to the insulin. Lack of chromium is a common problem in many countries, as refined sugar and lack of exercise depletes the body of chromium. Thus, onions can also help to prevent diabetes, and make diabetics lives easier.

Regular consumption of onion has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure, which is why its good to eat in order to prevent heart diseases or stroke. Likely because of its chromium, sulfur and Vitamin B6. Studies show that people who frequently eat onions and broccoli run a 20% decreased risk of heart diseases or heart attacks. Studies also show that it may be especially useful for women who have increased risk of suffering from osteoporosis while going through menopause, by destroying the osteoclasts, thus preventing them from breaking down the bone.

Due to the inflammatory properties of onion, they also make you healthier by killing bacterias. So eating them during common cold-periods prevent you from catching a cold. I believe one of the reasons I'm rarely sick, not even when my entire family is sick with the flu, is because I eat onions as a snack.

You can tout all of the health benefits you want, something no one even questioned by the way, they still taste awful.

I know no one questioned it :p But some people might not know of the health benefits :p

I don't know about you Baj, but caramelized onions on a juicy New York Steak tastes just like it smells.... DELICIOUS!

I like onions, if they're fried, or red, or both. But onions are a topping, a condiment at best(and even then very sparingly), I definately wouldn't eat them plain by themselves, that's just disgusting. Know what's even more disgusting though? Raw garlic cloves. I tried one of those the other day and I was sorry for it for a good two hours.

if you've ever gone to outback steakhouse you will disagree with this

I think if it was possible to live off bloomin onions, I would. Those are quite possibly the most delicious appetizer ever created. Of course, if I see nearly any other form of onion touching my food I bitch and moan and pick every bit out and toss it in the trash.

And for the OP's question: Sandwiches. Preferably chicken. With lots of tomatoes and honey mustard.

QFT. I went on a little field trip to a resturant and learned how to make those in the 8th grade and they were so good that I still remember it.

Lately I can't get enough mushrooms ^^;; I've been putting mushrooms in everything. Luckily my roomie indulges me and often cooks for me, and he tosses mushrooms into spaghetti, chicken teriyaki, stir-fry, into steak marinades, and pot roast. Tonight we had homemade chicken teriyaki with skinless chicken breasts, steamed broccoli, whole-grain rice, and mushrooms.... They say teriyaki is fattening though?

only reason I don't pick them out of my food anymore is because of health benefits...otherwise i'd exterminate every last one off of the planet.

and when I consume them I don't bite them just swallow...feels like I'm munching on a limb of something alive...

I don't like my food crunchy and juicy, also a reason why I don't like fried chicken too much or fried stuff with lots of grease.

Onions? Oh friggin mmmmmm.

A nice ripe, juicy, fragrant red onion sliced up in rings, raw with some ranch dressing is sooooo tasty!

I'm glad SOMEONE agree on the deliciousness of onions >.>

onions and cucumber drenched in vinegar, always give you stomach ache afterwards but nice if I get a craving >.>;

note I do not go out for 24 hours after eating this as my breath is so rancid.

A pepperoni and onion pizza is like the only meal I would not eat onions. Plus the smell is horrendous.

I suppose you would be a vehemenent suppoter of onions.

After all that, I shall clarify my statement. It's not the taste of onions that I don't like. They actually have very little taste of their own. Onions irritate your taste buds, allowing you to absorb more flavor from the rest of your food.

That's all fine and dandy.

But when I bite into a raw onion, the texture of it just makes me feel like I'm eating bugs. The texture is the reason I don't eat them. If they are thouroughly cooked, I can deal with it. If they crunch, it makes me want to vomit.

As far as how healthy they are... If eating shit was the key to living forever, I'd never know cause I still wouldn't eat the nasty shit.
