Hehe.. i would have to say I have two good instances of doing something stupid. One was completely funny and the other I still feel kinda bad about.
1. Way back when i was working on Warrior, i was around lvl 27ish and pretty new to the areas around Jeuno. It was my first ever attempt at starting a party. I got all the positions filled, dont remember what exactly th pt consisted of, but i had atleast 2 healers, I think a Rdm and Whm, whom were JP players. Needless to say I was happy to have them along, but translation were .. rough..
I decided to take them out to Battila Downs and try to find a bunker to fight in with a zone in it (since i had been in some pts that had done pretty good doing that). Unfortunately all the ones with zones were taken, and the pt was getting anxious to gain some exp. So I took them to the next bunker i saw, didnt have a zone, so i knew if we got in trouble we'd be screwed. We actually did pretty good for a while pulling gobs and an occasional tiger. The puller died a few times because he would wander too far out and get bind cast on him, and we'd see his hp dropping, by the time we got to him he'd be dead.
He got raised and we continued, but as soon as it turned nightime, a ghost spawned right smack dab in the middle of our camp, in the middle of all of us.. we immediately ran for our lives. It killed the puller in seconds cause he voked first for whatever reason. I voked it, and told everyone esle to zone, trying as best i could to use the autotranslator to get my point across. However one of the JP mages casted something on it and it went after him almost immediatly after I voked it. Needless to say I couldnt do anything for close to 20 seconds. The mage ran like heck but alas he went down, i stayed by the ghost so i would draw aggro since the Whm was still alive and running. I provoked as soon as i could and ran, I didnt make it. The Whm was the only one who did live, the other two had died from misc mobs while they were running. *sigh* It wasnt one of my better days. Needless to say the party broke up after that. I still havent attempted to start a party because of that experience. I just join pts and/or take leadership after the former leader has had to leave.
2. I was taking the ship between Selbina and Mahura several times to catch a crab for a quest in Windhurst. One of those times I ran up to the deck, only to see a Sea Horror in my path. I was using my lvl 40 War/Mnk combo at the time, since it was my highest lvl job, and it still is so far. At first I didnt realize it was a Sea Horror.. i had thought i saw the words Sea Monk.. I had fought those before and won. I whipped out my Greatsword and charged toward it, hit it once, it spen around and hit me for 200+ dmg.. I then realized how large it was.. and thought "Oh shit..."
I was able to withstand a few more hits before going down. Which was okay, I could live with that, i had given myself a good amount of cushioning exp so I wouldnt delevel. However, this is where it got funny as hell. I whip my camera around and see the door to the deck open, it was another M Elvaan character, he was in subligar and still had his "Noob"questionmark up. He runs over to me and sends me a tell.

Without missing a beat, and i mean as soon as I had hit enter to send the message, the Sea Horror whips around and pimp slaps him one time. Down the poor noob went. I couldnt help but laugh my ass off. We both spent the rest of the 9 minutes laying on the deck of the boat with the Sear Horror laughing at us. We got raised as soon as we reached Mahura, poor guy.
