Actually I think that's just the beta site that's going up on the 11th. From what I can tell, the closed ALPHA for FFXI users starts on the 11th. I know at least one person who has an Alpha Test code /jealous =/
 
From my understanding, the first beta will be starting on the 11th of this month. Hopefully someone will post with some info for the rest of us.
If anyone needs me, I'll be leveling WHM to 50. ; ;
 
Yea, no pictures, they just added them into the post. I hope they let us keep our characters.

The release of information pertaining to the Alpha Test to sources other than the Tester Site forum is strictly prohibited. Schedules for the public release of information will be announced at a later date. Until then, all information should be treated as confidential.
Rule's being broken all over the place.
But I don't mind. I didn't get an invite this round.
 
Considering the servers are for test only, they will be wiped at the conclusion. We can't keep our characters, even though we MIGHT be able to keep the names, if you were lucky nough to get into the testing. I did myself.... and... for those assholes who DO plan on posting all the info elsewhere, you can die in a tire fire, cause theres a chance you can fuck it up for yourself, but possibly others. D: Just follow the rules D: Keep it tothe alpha forums. THough I'm sure I'm talking to a wall. xD
 
To clarify on my last post. I DID get an invite, but refuse to give any info. As it should be D:

Mostly because it's there, but they can't touch it while others can.

No, it is stated very clearly in the email that the characters used in the beta will not be transferable to the retail version.

This may be a bit premature to ask, but for the folks who got in...

Midgardsormr ended up being the unofficial destination server for the NA FFXI Beta test (and there are still some of those original folks around).

When the time for the official FFXIV release comes, you think you'll end up going with whatever is the "unofficial FFXIV beta player" server, or whatever ends up being the Quetzalcoatl server?

Anyway, I'm sure SE's going to try to implement something to smooth out the population distribution again, like Worldpasses. Here's hoping the Beta test players will give us a heads up about where they'll be heading when the time comes.
