I recently hit the 50's, but ever since I hit 49, I simply couldnt get a pt. Reason? I have two. Either Not a lot of players have jobs at this lv (which I think is right) or people just dont want BLU, period.

At 49, I decided I would run to Gustav and try to soro (actually duo with NPC fellow) some BST pets, which I often did a lot in the past. But the pets become much stronger, like normally spawned mobs, now. So I ended up dying (lol) wasted NPC and EXP ring. The pets were T-VT leeches.

So, where can I effectively solo?

Hmm, 49 may have been a bit too low for the Goblin's Leeches in Gustav. I remember doing those a couple levels higher than 49 for decent exp. They are level 53-55, so you wanna start on them at like 51-52, I'd say. Sadly, Goblin's Leeches were about the last pet mobs I found to solo for awesome exp. After them, the pets really jumped up in strength, it seemed. Almost normal mob strength, like you said. After that... I didn't really solo much I don't think. Once Lesser Colibris became DC, I soloed some of those, but that's a long ways off for you.

What the hell? The leeches are 53-55 and you can't kill them as a 49? You just have to go balls to the wall on them and they'll die. The only times I've ever died soloing gobbie pets are when the goblin turned right after I pulled the bat (from being impatient).

I wouldn't wait till the bats are 1-2 levels above you. That kind of defeats the purpose.

dont act so surprised, lol, they will hit you at 49 for 100+ damage a hit, and that leaves, what, room for maybe 6-7 hits, not to mention their double attack. Yeah, I probably couldve finished it had I went "balls to the wall" but I wasnt ready for it to be as hard as it was because of previous BST pets. Guess I just happened to be unlucky, huh.

I dunno. I never had problems with gobbie pets until I got to the Bibiki Bay rabbits. Those things are made of pure EVIL lmao.

I know, but not pt'ing or exp'ing with ring active does waste it :p

LMAO. Yeah you were there with me on those too.

49 should be fine for Leeches with NIN sub. I'd recommend this spell set:

Refueling
Sickle Slash
Jet Stream
Head Butt
Bludgeon
Uppercut
Wild Carrot
Mandibular Bite
Awful Eye
Sprout Smack
Poison Breath

With /NIN you really shouldn't need Cocoon or Metallic Body and you want to blitz them. Pull with a Chakram or Jet Stream, then go Head Butt/Sprout Smack/Head Butt/DD spell/Head Butt/repeat as necessary. Re-Utsusemi after a Head Butt when you have 1 shadow left and keep Refueling up at all times.
