Why did you pick your name? And wth does it mean?

i have a mithra named Ants because my name is Anthony and i always us that, but i usually keep mentor on so it looks like MANts so people dont bother me with "youre cute" tells
 
My nick is and will always be:

NEGRISSIMO (spanish anagram of NEGRO+MOSSIMO) In college I always wore black Mossimo clothes.

I always name myself that in every game i play or messageboard i go. So, when I got this game and I went to input my VERY RARE name... guess what?

It says that my name is already registered, BS! I KNOW for a fact that I'm the only one in this game (or the world) who will ever use that created name. It's a combination 2 words and in SPANISH, please!

I had to put NEGORISSIMO because of SE's BS. Let my name be a symbol for all of us that had to put up with that crap at one time or another.

name I always used in RPGs but it was taken so I added the L

I was going through the random name generator and could not decide on a name. I then decided I'm gonna roll the generator 3 X and settle on the 3RD name and Skreb was born. Some people think my rl name is Berks because that is what Skreb is back wards , I thought that was kinda funny,for the record my real name is Gabe:biggrin:

Name of one of the characters I made up for something else a long time ago. The other ones; Cthandra, is the name of one of my mules, and Draiyman is the name of my main WoW character.
 
I had a bunch I wanted to use, but they were all taken. Then I messed around with the name generator for a while but all those either sucked or were also taken.

Three hours later >< I decided to go with my middle name.
 
i put my RL name into an Elvish name generator and out popped Oropher.
 
Stine - my rl nickname. My name is Christine. So it's pronounced Steen.

My name is Gil in Elvish.
I guess that's a sign I'm going to be rich.

Gevlorien, was the first character for me and my brother both. We sat together and threw sounds and syllables together to come up with what we thought sounded Elvaan.. kinda stuck with us.. Once we became comfortable with the game, Gev was thrown into mule status, and Darthyoda along with Tarn was born.

other mule is Darthyodadasmule.. how's that for originality?
 
Hmmm all the characters I have played in FFXI?

Dungwader - I thought it was funny and have used it for years before playing FFXI - besides perfect for Galka.
Kurgon - Highlander 1
Katinka - Well she was a Mithra so I had to fit cat in there somehow.
Kutsu - Friends cat
Kozet - Another friends cat
Bartlei - I was watching The Simpsons
Yaka - Just struck me as a decent name
Mercambus - just made it up
Trescent - Made that name up while playing an Iskar in EQ2 and carried over
Lameria - another EQ2 name that made it's way over here.
there have been more but I am drawing a blank.

I start over way too much... /boggle

hehe... I picked Darlene & Lakenya from a baby book. I just liked the sound of it... when I pick a name, it just sticks. I cant remember what the mean atm... just thought they were nice names.

I tried to level both for a while, but then just got much farther with Darlene, so I sold everything on Lakenya and left her as a mule.
 
wow you guys have alot of cool histories for your names, in my case, i just had to think up a name, and i ended up liking Knightblade...so i sticked with it ;D

Kyela : Elven for love, my old D2 char was Kyela Kusanar (love's twilight)
Falarin : my book.. original name design was like Falarum ? I don't recall.. another Dragonlance guy.
Daphni : I was watching some horrible mobie and I saw the name Daphnee ... I hate the spelling but I -love- Daphni.. so I made her a char in my book :3
Talis : lead role in my book.. I thought "pretty... pretty hmm... whats pretty.. a necklace.. talisman... Talis.. oh I like"
Tsuvasi : most awesome villain in my book Tsuvati.. but I wanted a kitty and Solari (Tsu's sis) didnt sound right so I went with Tsuvasi.. rawr
Aliah : char from my book.. I honestly dunno how

Well the game I played right before this was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and my Jedi in that was named after Beka Valentine from the show Andromeda. I got very attached to her and decided she needed to live on in my next game :).
 
Tyrath...demon name, figured it would go with being a Dark knight ;x
 
Kotsu - A name that sounds Japanese, but isn't really a Japanese name. It does flow with my desire to main Samurai though.

Kuzoukuu - A name I've used over the internet with gaming now for like 8 years or so, since RPing on AOL when I was a lonely dork. Thank god football broke that.

Nikushimi - My Mule. The word literally means: Hatred. I dunno why I picked that one. I could have used Seichi which means Holy Land or something like that. Eh'...
