Why does the Log In button does not work for me?

Is anyone else stuck there? Maybe it's my version number, maybe it didn't update properly. What's it for everyone else? I am at my wits' end.

I'm having problems now too. Not with the log in button though. I was just playing the beta not 10 min ago and it was working fine. We logged out of my gf's account to make my character, and when i go to boot the game it will be at the check version screen for a sec, then give an error message that's this ~> □□□□□□□□□□□□□XIV□□□□□□□□□□□□□□. Wtf is that? I changed my resolution and such to make the game run a little smoother, but that's it. Does it have to be on the default settings?

The FFXIV Beta launcher uses an Internet Explorer window for the username/password entry. Your IE settings may be interfering with the way the page operates. You might want to try fiddling around with the settings to see if it'll work. Perhaps you have scripts disabled?

They are so stupid for even using that. I had so much stuff blocked on IE but I fixed it now. If I get viruses, I'ma fuck SE up.

See Nyosan's post. Set IE's stuff to default. Accept All Cookies. Set security settings as low as they can go. Blammo.

Yeah. You have to actually use IE and change the settings there. It doesn't matter what your primary browser is. Open IE and change the settings.

Yep, the launcher uses IE regardless of what one's primary browser is. Hopefully this is something that is only for the beta. I'm sure they can integrate it into the client; they did it for the POL viewer after all.
