Why is the PS3 a fail?

Never thought you'd shoot yourself in the head Tagrineth. With so many eyes how can i resist ?

Except that I honestly took you to fucking school in that thread because you were cleanly wrong on many points, and yet insisted you were right even when I linked sources that proved you wrong.

That is a lie, you never posted any links in that 4 page thread not once.

Here is the schooling:

You can't magically add an HDMI cable port to a system that doesn't have one.

Xbox 360 isn't getting an HDMI cable.

The update is to unlock 1080p over Component cables, for which there was no specification until recently, so it couldn't possibly have been included in the original release.

Impossible without the proper hardware. It's happennig though.

Here's one source of information taken from the TGS.

Another leak (Microsoft isn't being too loud about this)

http://www.gamersgizmos.org/entry/hd...60-imminently/

What makes this conversion possible is the fact all of the 360's display drivers are driven by the Xenos, which is said to be identical to the Radeon X1000 serise GPU. As explained here.

Our good friends at Lik Shang are already spilling the beans about it.

There is also another "aftermarket" HDMI cable schedualed for release on December 1st 2006. (The Game Stop Universal premium HDMI cable) Said to retail for $99.00. I've read less about this one, but from what i did read, i'm under the impression that it will work for other systems other than the 360. I can't imagine it will endorse quality along side it's ability to adapt.

Moving on.

Whatever, though. You're fucking thick headed anyway, so, whatever. Don't care.

Another one of you're wasteful fillers.

Edit: you even insisted you were right when you posted links proving yourself wrong. LOL

I'd ask you to show me these links, but there are none. I tried to help you and i failed.

Edit 2:

"The PS3 and the 360 have GPUs that are almost an even match. 360's GPU is faster under heavy scenes and is can handle shaders alot better. 360 is as they say, capable of better graphics."

Finally you get something right about console GPUs. ^-^b

Finally ? 1st page on that same thread i wrote:

Seeking more power, Microsoft went with ATI this time for the XboX 360, which is going up against the "Nvidia RSX for the PS3" (So i have read).

It has been written that the RSX is Equivalent to 2 Nvidia 6800 on SLI. Which has been said to be inferior to the ATI Xenos in the XboX360.

*"the RSX can process 24 pixels with its 24 pipelines while an Xbox 360 powered with ATI's Xenos, R500 chip can do double that, 48 pixels per clock."*

Now having an awsome GPU dosn't mean you're bound to see better graphics on it. Sony seems to have better designers working for them already.

"If" the 360 really is capable prouducing better graphics than the PS3, then it is only a matter of time before the 360 does the PS3 wrong.

When the PS3 is released, only then will we be able to pop it open and check out the true specs. I think Game developers will do that as soon as they can, and when they do, that is when the shit hits the fan.

You cannot continue to haunt me, this is a pure example of true and false, time itself has exposed you're true face.

Whatever, I just don't have the motivation to show you where you proved yourself wrong. I don't even care if you think I'm some dumbass that doesn't know his head from his toes, and if you want to blackball me from an endgame linkshell (lol) when I don't even have one and really have lost a lot of interest in acquiring one... nor do I have the time to devote to an endgame linkshell (I haven't even been able to attend Dynamis in a couple months)... go ahead, whatever.

I'm through arguing consoles / hardware on this board, you're no fun to argue against.

Edit: And by the way, the 360 HDMI thing, your links were all aftermarket crap, not Microsoft. Sure you can make a cable which converts an analogue output (LOL) to HDMI, but what the fuck does that accomplish? Ask yourself that. Until much more recently than that thread, there was absolutely nothing official about an HDMI-compatible 360, just a lot of speculation. We've "known" about the 360 update for a few months, sure, but back when that thread was running it was rampant speculation and you fucking know it.

Edit 2: I hate myself. LOL. I had to counter it. Well, consider that my last retort on any console matter on this board.

Dont know if anyone has posted this or not, BUT, some information has just been discovered on the 360 elite. Their "HDMI" isnt HD at all, its runs at 1.2... where the PS3 runs at 1.3. FYI: 1.2=Component Video. (Red Blue Green) fucking LMAO! Want info, check the officail xbox site under specs.

Edit: And the PS3 is fail?

you are wrong.. my god dont post if you dont understand something.. fire please come fix this lol. HDMI1.2 is HD, the issue is audio. HDMI 1.3 is supported by an EXTREEM small group of HD tvs atm(and through downloaded upgrades on those tvs as fire pointed out to me)New tvs are coming out soon supporting 1.3HDMI with a retail over $4000... so you tell me if 1.2HDMI or 1.3HDMI matters to you? do you have one of these extreemly pricey tvs? for the game aspect, 1.2HDMI is for the avg HD customer(which atm is small %), its HD quality visuals that support 1080p perfect, with slightly less audio support then 1.3HDMI. which if you play like i do... loud and in surround sound.. i dont notice a difference in my PS3 and X360 atm even with VGA cables only on my 360 atm(btw VGA supports 1080p also:p) so if you feel true HD is something which a small percentage of the HD market customer can take advantage of(being 1.3HDMI)then... ok to you lol...

Your are a fucking idiot. I didn't even read past the first line of your wall of text. So fuck that.

And you dumbass... You proved my point that 1.2 is different then 1.3. It was pointless for them to even include HDMI. When they can run the 2.1 when they can run it fine on HD component. And dont give me that "THERES NO BIG DIFFERENCE" shit.

The difference is in audio, not video. Component video and HDMI video are still different. HDMI video output is superior to Component video output, period.

That's all he was pointing out. Your post said that the HDMI would offer no improvement, but that is patently false.

thank you tag, HDMI video quality is still superior to VGA. Even if the HDMI quality is 1.2HDMI. The difference worth mentioning is the audio. AND 1.#HDMI is stiiiiill not supported by HDTVs yet buddy;;; sorry. the updates downloadable are just coming close to it, but still not there. But dude thank you for assuring me you are a fool :p

I CAN TYPE IN CAPS TO SIMULATE I AM YELLING ALSO!! HARHAR! fool :p

Edit: and thats not all you were saying, your Edit "and PS3 is a fail?" sends the message that you feel 360 is a fail for adding 1.2HDMI...

I say the "elite" is fail for not adding FULL HD. as on their wedsite they state that they have the highest quality HD.

dude its highest HD visual quality your TV can get, the audio is slacking slightly. does that make the elite a fail um no...

on a side note, i play my games in 720p. my opinion it looks better then 1080p.. seems to be alot of ppls opinion also. 1080p just maybe is not ready for games yet.

Does it make it FULL HD? Im not downing on the new "Elite" im just saying its kind of lame that they a promoting it as "Top quality HD" although... promoting the PS3 as a Blu-ray that plays games is bad also. I might pick up the Elite because it looks fly, but not for the HDMI, i like my PS3 better.

1080p only looks better if you have a TV big enough to support it. Otherwise its just too much for a smaller TV
32" and smaller are better to use 720p, where 40" and bigger should try to get 1080p wherever possible.

Mara i have 65" 1080p , but i still use 720p. i dunno i like it lol. And Keylon now we are being more realistic^^ and i can understand your argument now.

Edit: also they are upgrading the Elites HDMI port to 1.3 later.

That is something i agree with. Blu-Ray seems to be on the ball though. but some of them really suck.

lol, later. Its like Nintendo re-releasing it with HD and a worthless DVD player.

I read that the human eye can't detect the difference unless it's a 52" or larger TV :P

1.2 is better than RGB connections, I just don't like the Microsoft mentality of "good enough." DVD9 is "good enough," RGB cables are "good enough," ext, ext, ext. What's the point of moving forward if you don't take the risk to embrace the new technology? No standard hard drive, no standard hd drive, no wi-fi? For 130 dollars the elite is miles behind the PS3. If high def doesn't matter to Xbox it would have been better off scaling back the resolution to standard, slashing the price and fixing the horrendous death rate.

I really don't like that new sku nor do I like the concept that a new console will be coming out every year just like a new car comes out every year (Microsoft's analogy, not mine). If I wanted to upgrade every year I'd be a PC gamer.

Here's a suggestion Microsoft... make a console with HD DVD and up to date HDMI. Now you can play Metal Gear Solid 4 and your fanboys can joyride around the internet laughing at PS3. It'll drive your price up to.. I don't know, $600? Maybe some people would rather pay 600 dollars for a really good system with everything they'll need for 10 years rather than 470 for a really unstable one that will be phased out in 3? It's not like the mandatory $120 fix-my-broken Xbox 360 fee doesn't bring it near the 600 mark already?.

10 years? 4 years from now, the next generation will be starting. My prediction is Nintendo kicking it off.

Maybe if the life span of the current consoles was 10 years, Microsoft would have put more effort in to it.

4 years? O.o it would prolly be more than that.. though then again.. it does seem technology is improving faster and faster so maybe you are right.. I dunno.. I'd say around 7ish seems more likely.
