Why is the PS3 a fail?

Takes one to know one, I guess.

Wait, I shouln't have answered that, LOL ;)

Except I'm not a fanboy :P I'm not going around saying PS3 is the best system and the others suck or that the 360 is the best or that Wii's the best :P I recognize each has fun stuff to them and I realize each has some problems. There's a reason I haven't bought one yet and haven't settled on one (and it's not because I don't have the money, because I do have enough now XD).

The fanboy comment was referring to Anttaru and I was joking about myself identifying him as a fanboy, thus... nevermind, lol. You'd better get it by now.

ah, I took it wrong then O.o *shrugs* I'm defensive

Bitch slapped? HI ANTTARU, re-read what I said, I didn't say it's uncompressed, I said it isn't as compressed as it could potentially be.

Too much compression is not a good thing y'know. Sure it can be compressed more, but all that would do is lower the quality of textures, and distort sound.

You know about as well as I do how compressed Resistance is (ie neither of us has a remote fucking clue, when you get right down to it),

I remember reading Resistance is a raw 20 gigs. Raw as in before it's been compressed.

but I'd bet real money that Resistance could be compressed into a smaller size. At a bare minimum I'm sure that 15GB could be shaved down to 12GB, possibly 10GB. I doubt it could be realistically fit onto a single DVD9 but two would be entirely within reason.

I wouldn't bet against you on that one. But keep in mind to compress the game any further would mean sacrificing quality. Of coarse there is the other alternative, which means cutting out levels and other things that make the game.

And again, PS3fanboysir, I wasn't suggesting it should be released on DVD9s, just that it could if need be. Don't read into it more than what I said, because all I said was it'd be feasible. Cry moar that Blu-ray isn't a necessity.

That is correct, but there is no if.

Resistance is a true PS3 exclusive. Everything that is happening in the PS3 with that game can only be done in the PS3.

The reality of "If" ?...If Resistance were to be ported to the 360 or Wii (Being reason as to why Resistance would have been put on DVD9s) the quality would suffer from the compression.

Other issues are, It would also choak the living shit out of the Wii and 360 and they would freeze because it could not even begin to understand nor ever handle the how the game is made. I know that sounds a bit off topic, but that is the world of Resistance on DVD9 while in the real world PS3's main course is BluRay

Also, Fire, note that I never said blu-ray's storage increase is useless, just that it isn't necessary and DVD9 does still have some life left.

DVD9 has life left indeed. PS2 and XboX360 are still using them.

As for what you say about Blu Ray's storage not being necessary. That's what Microsoft wants the world to believe. Don't worry, i'll try to fix you right now.

*DVD9 is less advanced (Which you know, but just say it with me)

*If games are going to be larger, Blu Ray is literally better for the enviroment. (Seeing on how single Disc's will be used per prouduct rather than making disc sets)

*Any game that requires a Harddrive to be played, can also be played off of a single Blu-Ray disc, (Just a reminder FFXI is a measly 7 GB, it's on HDD only because it needs to be updated all the time. Even DVD9 would hold it down). If the HDD game is above 50gigs then the game is way ahead of it's time. the Blu Ray will hold several titles as opposed to 1 title though. FOR CHEAP !

*If only Microsoft knew, they would have intergrated HD DVD right into the console, and if they lowered their pride X1000, they would have intergrated Blu Ray which is better than HD DVD.

*If Blu Ray fails in the movie world. It makes no difference as to what Blu Ray is doing for games.

*One who rents movies will grin at the Blu Ray section in the video store if they have a PS3 at home. I hear even Animated presentations are breath taking on Blu Ray. To enjoy the lesser movie experience on the 360, you will have to pay extra for that, which would make the 360 exceed the PS3 in price.

*Calling people who support Sony "fanboy" is part of Microsofts mastery. Like the bard who played for the mice as the mice followed the bard, Microsoft is making many believe Sony hates us or something.

*What reason do people hate Sony again ? No rumble ? They copy Wii mote nunchuck stick ? Made grown men cry at E3 with arrogance ? Or was it amature video made by Anti Sony critics found on the internet do a number on what the youth think about the PS3 ? Actions speak louder than words, and the fury here is an offspring of envy.

*Multiplatform games between PS3 and 360, has us all waiting for Microsoft to evolve. Some will see this scenario as a hold up.
This is commonly seen as, "360 cannot do the things PS3 can do, and the PS3 can do everything the 360 can with ease". To say no to that, is to say the XboX is just as advanced as PS3.

*PS2 games outselling 360 games, is good for Sony, (Just saying how PS2 is still being advertized and still going strong)

*360 does have more games to choose from at this point in time. PS3 is still a baby and most likely never catch up in numbers. But the PS3 will break the 360's ass when these games start to roll out plus the FREE online service.

*360 has a better GPU, So much power for so little data. The more that GPU gets pushed, the smaller those 360 games will be. Let's face it making a game to fit on 2 DVD's is bad for 360's image.

*PS3 will have the games with the best graphics. Some less outstanding than others for sure. Just like how some PS2 games look better than some 360 games.

*PS3 offers more controll function. (Don't get me wrong, i love XboX controllers except that stupid D-pad it has)

*What would Microsoft truly have without Halo ?

*Microsoft wants Sony's exclusives. Sony wants nothing from Microsoft.

*HD DVD expansion on the 360 is designed to cover up Microsofts mistakes from those who think Blu Ray is only for watching movies.

Isn't this still going on somewhere else? Because I think I am having Deja-Vu.

Too much compression is not a good thing y'know. Sure it can be compressed more, but all that would do is lower the quality of textures, and distort sound.

It depends on how the compression is done. Lossless audio compression can easily cut down the size of the audio by around 40%, and other data like text can be generated via very simple algorithms to save a lot of space. Textures could be generated procedurally, which should be EZ LIEK CAKE for the Cell processor lolz amirite! And that would save a TON of space without sacrificing any quality. Even without procedural textures, texture compression artefacts aren't terribly noticeable as long as they don't severely over compress. Level data can be compressed losslessly depending on how it's stored too, there's always room to improve.

I remember reading Resistance is a raw 20 gigs. Raw as in before it's been compressed.

I know what raw means, but THANKS FOR THE HOT TIP

If Resistance is raw 20GB and on disc it's 15GB, that's actually pretty piddly compression. Most random data can be shrunk much smaller than that via free, public lossless compression formats... and that's before getting into specifics like how much of that is audio, how much is texturing, etc.

I wouldn't bet against you on that one. But keep in mind to compress the game any further would mean sacrificing quality. Of coarse there is the other alternative, which means cutting out levels and other things that make the game.

It wouldn't necessarily mean cutting quality to a noticeable degree. Lossless audio compression can be very effective, and if you use even a minor degree of lossy compression you can cut the space taken by audio drastically without sacrificing much quality.

Uncompressed textures are nice but realistically speaking they're a waste of space, because even lossless texture compression can be pretty powerful. Look at PNG, it achieves comparable compression rates to mid-high quality JPEGs and it's totally lossless.

Other issues are, It would also choak the living shit out of the Wii and 360 and they would freeze because it could not even begin to understand nor ever handle the how the game is made.

Er, that's right, PS3 is GOD, lolz. I have no doubt that 360 could handle Resistance just fine with only minor reduction in the visuals. Most notably the extraneous (though cool) special effects like the glass breaking, which is awesome but doesn't do a damn thing as far as actual gameplay is concerned.

PS3 does have a lot of potential, beyond what 360 can achieve, but if you think Resistance, a first generation - RELEASE - PS3 game is so advanced that it'd make 360 "not even begin to understand..." (rofl), then you're deluding yourself, as usual.

*DVD9 is less advanced (Which you know, but just say it with me)

I'm not disputing this and never have. There IS such a thing, however, as overextending.

*If games are going to be larger, Blu Ray is literally better for the enviroment. (Seeing on how single Disc's will be used per prouduct rather than making disc sets)

Kay, sure. I'm not trying to argue that Blu-ray is a bad thing, just that DVD9 does still have some life left, and that the shift to Blu-ray was pre-emptive.

FOR CHEAP !

FFXI is effing huge, as is WoW, and both fit within 9GB. I don't see what your point is here though, since you pointed out yourself that at least one really big game would fit just fine on a DVD9 as-is right now.

*If only Microsoft knew, they would have intergrated HD DVD right into the console, and if they lowered their pride X1000, they would have intergrated Blu Ray which is better than HD DVD.

At the time when 360 was released, blu-ray was not available and would have been incredibly infeasible. Hell, even with the PS3's release almost a year later, the blu-ray's inclusion is biting the system in the ass just as much as it's helping it. The biggest problems with production stemmed from the lack of blu-ray diodes, and it's one of the most expensive parts in the system by far... in a $600 system that lost $250 per sale when it was launched. That's OBSCENE. When 360 was released, even HD-DVD was still too new to be feasible without taking a colossal loss on the system's hardware.

*If Blu Ray fails in the movie world. It makes no difference as to what Blu Ray is doing for games.

Another non-point.

*One who rents movies will grin at the Blu Ray section in the video store if they have a PS3 at home. I hear even Animated presentations are breath taking on Blu Ray. I thought we were talking about games...

And no, it wouldn't exceed the PS3's price, it would match it.

*Calling people who support Sony "fanboy" is part of Microsofts mastery. Like the bard who played for the mice as the mice followed the bard, Microsoft is making many believe Sony hates us or something.

So wait, you think Microsoft invented the term "fanboy"? LMFAO, has Sony blinded you tards that much?

Nice, keep up the psychoanalytical undertones just like the last couple times we argued.

Lemme give you a hint: most of the people who are trying to explain to you fuckwads that the PS3 might have some kind of problem, or might not be the best console ever, are frustrated by how obstinate you idiots are, mostly pulling bullshit out of your asses (to your credit, you haven't actually done that yet wrt PS3, though Mara and Fire have both done so several times - you've just made some questionable logical points) to defend the uber-console when it's doing really quite poorly in the market, and there MUST be a reason for it. Wouldn't you agree on that? Being outsold by Game Boy Advance in February and being the 3rd worst selling console that month, only beating the out-of-production GameCube and Xbox... and you don't see a problem with that?

*Multiplatform games between PS3 and 360, has us all waiting for Microsoft to evolve. Some will see this scenario as a hold up.
This is commonly seen as, "360 cannot do the things PS3 can do, and the PS3 can do everything the 360 can with ease". To say no to that, is to say the XboX is just as advanced as PS3.

Hold on, back up. No, this is not a "If not X, then Y" situation. You're saying that if I disagree with you on your little quote-encased line there, I'm absolutely saying the 360 is just as advanced... no, that's completely false.

Hardware is just that, hardware. It has limitations all over the place. 360's graphics processor can do things PS3's can't, and vice-versa. We've argued about graphics before, so you should at least know enough to know that much. Unless you go pure software - 100% Cell - there ARE things 360 can do just as well, if not better than PS3.

There are just more things PS3 can do better than 360.

*PS2 games outselling 360 games, is good for Sony, (Just saying how PS2 is still being advertized and still going strong)

And Game Boy Advance outselling PS3 is good for Sony too, right?

*360 does have more games to choose from at this point in time. PS3 is still a baby and most likely never catch up in numbers. But the PS3 will break the 360's ass when these games start to roll out plus the FREE online service.

It's absolutes like this that make us giggle. PS3 WILL BREAK THE 360's ASS! lol. Many of PS3's hueg exclusives have already jumped ship or stopped being exclusive. FF13 will probably stay exclusive but with MGS4 you never know, since MGS1 and 2 both wound up on other systems. God of War 3 will probably be awesome, sure. But 360 at this point has just as many big-name exclusives... and let's not even talk about Wii.

*360 has a better GPU, So much power for so little data. The more that GPU gets pushed, the smaller those 360 games will be. Let's face it making a game to fit on 2 DVD's is bad for 360's image.

Holy shit, wait, STOP THE PRESSES

OMG YOU THINK XBOX IS JUST AS ADVANCED AS PS3

Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

*PS3 will have the games with the best graphics. Some less outstanding than others for sure. Just like how some PS2 games look better than some 360 games.

Since when has that mattered? It never has. Historically, the console with the best graphics has never won a console generation. NEVER. NOT ONE TIME. NOT ONCE. SNES came close but TIED with Genesis.

So fucking what if PS3 games have the best graphics? Wii has clearly the worst graphics of the three, and is outstripping both 360 and PS3 combined. Whoopity fucking doo, yes, you have the best graphics.

*PS3 offers more controll function. (Don't get me wrong, i love XboX controllers except that stupid D-pad it has)

Arguable. The SIXAXIS tilt sensor is pretty limited, and from my play time with MotorStorm it's very over sensitive. Most of the people who would try it at the Circuit City I used to work at, out would oversteer like crazy, even after 5-10 minutes of "getting used to it". Now of course after playing with it for an hour or two you'll get used to its sensitivity, and that's entirely up to the game's own settings and how the game reads the tilt...

But SIXAXIS has this other problem of neutral being perfectly level. I don't even hold controllers level - I like to hold my controllers up vertically most of the time, which would not work with any PS3 game that used the tilt functions. Some of my Wii games give me minor cramps in my arms after a while but the Wiimote feels a lot more "natural" than the SIXAXIS, at least in motorstorm and NBA '07 (the only two games I've put any real time into).

And then the 360 pad has a built-in port for a headset, which is much more convenient than plugging a headset into the console itself. It's also more comfortable to hold. =)

*What would Microsoft truly have without Halo ?

Halo doesn't even exist on the 360 yet and it's doing pretty well, I'd say.

*Microsoft wants Sony's exclusives. Sony wants nothing from Microsoft.

I'm sure Sony wants Microsoft to stop taking its exclusives. Sony's in a bad enough state though that I'm sure they don't want to look greedy.

*HD DVD expansion on the 360 is designed to cover up Microsofts mistakes from those who think Blu Ray is only for watching movies.

I don't understand this point at all. The HD-DVD addon for 360 is purely for watching movies. How does that have anything to do with "mistakes" or relating to blu-ray doing something besides play back movies?

Resistance had no need to be compressed further. The feature they could have added as an improvement would have been to stream like Gears of War did, making it look similarly as good. (they're doing that for Ratchet and Clank) The issue is that unlike Gears of War, Resistance is 30 levels long, so for this to have happened they'd have needed to use dual layer blu-ray, which wasn't ready yet.

Then again, if they'd cut the game in half and allowed for the streaming textures, it would probably have been more well received as it's the PS3's flagship title at the moment and should have been boasting the PS3's advantage over the competitors.

It wouldn't necessarily mean cutting quality to a noticeable degree. Lossless audio compression can be very effective, and if you use even a minor degree of lossy compression you can cut the space taken by audio drastically without sacrificing much quality.

There was space to waste. There's no point losing any quality when your disc still could fit Gears of War in the free space.

Kay, sure. I'm not trying to argue that Blu-ray is a bad thing, just that DVD9 does still have some life left, and that the shift to Blu-ray was pre-emptive.

Well depends really. The base specs of a console never change throughout a generation, that's the point of owning a console instead of a PC. They can add HDMI functionality, they can add a hard drive, they can add HD-DVD, Blu-Ray or anything else but all Xbox games must be designed with the knowledge that the core must play it. So the question becomes, if the PS3 is 12-18 months ahead of its time, and the initial price chokes its sales today, where does it compare to the 360 next year?

Does Microsoft phase out the core model, nix the gaming requirements, force all core owners to buy a hard drive and leverage the DVD9 with games dependent on the hard drive? Does the 360 allow games to be printed on HD DVD?(not bloody likely) Or does Microsoft wait until PS3 starts to show its long term advantage over the 360 and then continue their short console life cycle with the next Xbox, cut support of the 360 and rush to 8th gen while PS3 is halfway into its 7th gen?

FFXI is effing huge, as is WoW, and both fit within 9GB. I don't see what your point is here though, since you pointed out yourself that at least one really big game would fit just fine on a DVD9 as-is right now.

How old is FF11? It was a PS2 game and not terribly late in the console's life cycle. You think the 360 or PS3 MMORPGs are fitting on a DVD9?

At the time when 360 was released, blu-ray was not available and would have been incredibly infeasible. Hell, even with the PS3's release almost a year later, the blu-ray's inclusion is biting the system in the ass just as much as it's helping it. That's OBSCENE. When 360 was released, even HD-DVD was still too new to be feasible without taking a colossal loss on the system's hardware.

360 launched early to beat the PS3. As a result they gained the biggest market share(of next gen, still a tiny market compared to 6th gen). They gained a lot of development support by being out there first and having third parties make for them exclusively by default. They built up a large library of games to compete with PS3's launch.

The downside is they have without a doubt the worst fail rate of game console ever made. They launched without HDMI support as they didn't wait for the technology to be standardized. They launched without a standardized harddrive which was in their last generation. They have a disc format that will be obsolete for high def gaming well before the game cycle is over and before 2 years they already made a secondary model which is alienating many of their early adoptors, not to mention the 180 dollar ri-fucking-dickulous charge for the 120 gig hard drive and a price point on their new model that's a 20 dollar bill short of a PS3 that has everything they should have waited for.

And no, it wouldn't exceed the PS3's price, it would match it.

Elite X-box and HD DVD is 680 and lacks wireless internet. Want to make things optional? That's fine. Don't' charge 100 dollars for the wireless adapter. Don't charge 180 dollars for a hard drive. Give us a cheap base price and then give us a comparable value for the whole package. Also stop charging for Xbox live or start adding dedicated servers like Playstation network for online multiplayer. All that "gold" is charging you for is the additional matchmaking service which is without a doubt the least expensive function of their network. Resistance plays lagless with dedicated servers... no host advantage, no worrying about which continent your opponents are, nothing.

So wait, you think Microsoft invented the term "fanboy"? LMFAO, has Sony blinded you tards that much?

I think people like you are pretty forceful of pushing your opinions as if it was facts. There's only 1 console that's going to make the other consoles look like shit and that's the Nintendo DS, which is absolutely owning all the charts on every continent. PS3 and Xbox 360 are both bottomfeeding at this point and neither are next gen isn't going to burst out with new sales until GTA4 comes out... at which point with the PS3's imminent price drop to 500 it'll look pretty fucking compelling against the 360's elite.

A lot of information has been thrown out there and the majority of bullshit is coming from 360 fans. Somehow you guys managed to declare the biggest launch in history a flop, claim the Xbox 360's fail rate of 2-4% is accurate, speak about MSG4 and FF13 as if they'd already been declared ports based on fan speculation and in general started constant flaming of the PS3 as if its existence when you don't want it somehow in the slightest way affects your life.

You don't like the PS3?

Here's a piece of advice... shut the fuck up and don't buy one. Don't like the PS3? Why don't you stay away from the PS3 board, stick with your 360, doesn't bother me. I shouldn't have to trudge through PS3 haters on every fucking playstation 3 board all across the internet because you can't just shut the fuck up and enjoy your 360.

Don't care about blu-ray? Good FOR YOU. Maybe you should go to highdefdigest and start trolling their board, explaining how DVD is so much better. It's all so fucking asinine and pointless and immature. They're game consoles, they aren't life choices. I'm sure it gets your tiny dick hard to think about how you're getting some exclusive FPS on 360 and I don't get it with a PS3. Well maybe you should do what the other 90% of the 360 fans do and just talk about your games and stop being an embarrassment to your community.

By the way, within a year we'll have at least ONE game that gets the benefit of blu-ray. I mean... if they did try and port it, what would it look like?

for me both 360 and PS3 seem to be having the same amount of games I'd wanna play :P (at least within a year's time) That being

PS3
===
FFXIII
FFXIII: Versus
Resistance: Fall of Man
Little Big Planet
LAIR
Warhawk
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Metal Gear Solid 4

360
===
Dead Rising
Halo 3
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Lost Planet
Overlord
Fable 2
Mass Effect

Multiplatform
=============
GTA IV (PS3 and 360)
Armored Core IV (PS3 and 360)
Assassin's Creed (PS3 and 360)
Devil May Cry 4 (PS3 and 360)
Mercenaries 2 (PS3 and 360)
Spider Man 3 (All)
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3 and 360)
Army of Two (PS3 and 360)
The Darkness (PS3 and 36)
Unreal Tournament III (PS3 and 360)

and there are the multiplatform games I'd want to get as well (depending which I want). Wii has a few things that interest me too but right now I don't like too much of their selection. Though I'm still not done looking through all the games for PS3 and XBox 360 and Wii that are out and coming out (officially announced and the whatnot). Right now 360 has more, but down the line it seems, for me, 360 and PS3 will both have the same amount of games I want (and the exclusives are going to be the key factor). I'm still torn :\ but it looks promising for both systems. As for Wii, I still see potential for fun games coming up, I just have to wait and see :P Ah well...

The difference with you Tagrineth. You like to argue how the game could be more compressed without loosing quality or a noticable amount that is fine.

We're talking about High Defination gaming, the point is to avoid dithering on the textures. There is no need to further compress Resistance, to compress it more would be stepping away from quality.

Tagrineth said:

Waste of space ? See you're thinking in terms of lower format. Uncompressed textures will mash compressed textures any day of the week. Look at Doom3 special settings. PC itself is High defination. On the HDTV less compression is what makes the new format cleaner.

You're argument is how developers will be using poor compression on Blu Ray media. This calls for comparrison. If you ask me, i'd tell you it's only a poor practice if the goal is to step backwards. We're not living on a planet that makes super advanced games the size of Atari 2600 games. If it were so, larger format world still be better.

Huge ? Not in Blu-Ray land. If 360 had more capacity on their media you wouldn't think 9GB is alot anymore either. Remember when 32megs was big for video games in the 16 bit era ?

So wait, you think Microsoft invented the term "fanboy"? LMFAO, has Sony blinded you tards that much?

First time i heard the term Fanboy, is when i was in my finaly year of college back in 2002. My classmates often called me that as i would make things i see other studios making as opposed to being more creative. I would argure the ability to make what we see is more valuable than being creative, unless ofcoarse we call the shots. But being creative is easy. None the less i scored high grades and earned alot of respect from my classmates upon the completion of my projects.

Fanboy is an ugly taunt that has resurfaced it's ugly head once again. In this case, anyone who uses it "on the most part" is pro-XboX360 and Anti PS3. At the least Fanboy is used against people who express their loyalty to a kind of entertainment media.

If you wanted to know my reasons for sticking up for Sony, all you had to do was ask.

- It's not in my nature to turn against things i love. It maybe for some people, but not me. On a side note Sony is still ruling the home console market, This is because they succeeded to deliver the goods. Many of us have turned against Sony because their personal leaders have choosen to fume at Sony's roumors. PS3 is here, and it is affordable. Not many games out right now, and if i have no patients like many of you, i'd kick and scream like the rest of the spoiled brats that think, Sony needs to be punished because this and that, so the PS3 must burn. They will all be singing a different tune just very soon. Maybe they will learn to watch and see what happens instead of trying to kill PS3 sales "for Microsoft".

- Sony PS3 is more advanced, The cell processor is so fast, i'm sure Sony can program the Eyetoy to rape the Wii Mote by reading hand movement or body movement if the user so desires. The Eye toy demonstrations show the PS3 can track movements using augmented reality quite accuratly with lightning speed. Sure Eye Toy and camera games are old, but never has it been this accurate. The capabilities of the PS3 is more than the competition in many aspects.

- All home Consoles do have a failure rate. Hearing about a PS3's that failed to operate does not change my mind about the system. Between my PS2 and XboX, I was able to fix my PS2's disc read errors myself. Simple reading. XboX i cannot fix. I need to either craft a special tool to open it, or order the damn thing. Many XboX run like shit today. All the PS2's i know, are all running fine. according to the number my XboX shows me (30 something maybe 37) It means the HDD in my XboX is dead. My friends XboX is showing the same signs that lead to the death of my XboX's HDD. But his just continues to play games whenever it's forced to run. Despite that, i still enjoy playing on XboX and wish them the best.

- I think what the console war has become is kinda stupid. People bashing the more advanced technology. What civilization we live in ? I want to progress to a wonderful future and not reach for the stoneage.

- Even though Smah my PS3 stole a heartbeat from my life span. I understand it is not a personal attack on Sony, as those guys thrive on getting a reaction from smashing all of the finest entertainment goods.

-My solution to Sony not having games i'm interested in is to wait for the ones i do want. I do not own a PS3 at this point in time, But i will when Ninja gaiden Sigma is released at the end of spring.

When i was saying the PS3 controller offers more controll, i should have just said the PS2 Dual shock controller offers more controll aswell I wasn't even thinking about the bluetooth tilt functionality.

Motorstorm isn't ridge racer. The game has to deal with rough terrain. Too much gas, and not doing things ahead of time will send you off the cliffs and into walls. I never had controll issues with it. I just wasn't very good at it on my first go. It's not a game i'm too much into. Maybe i'll get it if i get bored on Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which is unlikely cause i still play Ninja Gaiden Black when i can. My XboX having a dead HDD and all i can only play it at a friends place.

Anyway, I'm a bit exasuted. i'm off for now

I'm so tired of console argument, I think I'm going to take Firestreak's advice.

I'm not conceding the argument, I'm just tired of making it.

As far as I'm concerned I've said everything I need to say, both of your fanboy psychoses are painfully plain to anyone who reads this anyway, so, whatever.

I just have one thing to say though.

PS3 is here, and it is affordable.

LOL

Sorry you cannot afford a PS3, that is why you're so upset at the company that carried us since PS1 boomed, i see.

As if you pioneered bashing Sony. You're a victim of Microsofts 3.2 billion dollar advertizement campaign which took the internet by storm aswell as you're freedom to peacefully exist with a more advanced system.

Any fool knows, the "next XboX" will have to be as powerful if not more powerful than what the PS3 is now, If there is nothing better than Blu-Ray by the time new consoles are being made, then the next XboX will have a Blu Ray player. Yet you're programed to dislike Sony. Don't get me wrong either. I play Nintendo and XboX too, i just reconize what is happening. This XboX Elite package is the best Microsoft can do to fix their mistakes.

Hm. Predijust, against a kind of person that "still" loves Sony.

As you can see there are so few of us that stick up for Sony. I wouldn't say that is plain considering most people stand for Sony silently or they are against Sony.

What are you trying to teach us anyway ? That PS3 is not going to rule ? that's fine, it's not important if it's the peoples #1 choice or not. (It's ok for Microsoft and Nintendo to be number 2 and 3, but if Sony does not make it to #1 for a generation then we have hatred. Just why ? (Another question you won't answer, it's not part of you're programing)

Call me Fanboy if you want, i love all things pixelated. I've always made video games a part of my life, as does everyone else here. Be happy there is variety out there. I don't feel the need to bash consoles like you do. Forgive me if PS3 has what i want, and forgive me for being marveled at the cell broadband processor in the PS3 which is 20X faster than todays PC's at folding. Uh-oh i'm being a fanboy again, i better stop leaning towards the truth.

It's really funny to see the people who do bash a system. They are blatant fanboys of another system. Sony fanboys bashing Microsoft or Nintendo, Nintendo Fanboys usually bashing Sony (because Sony came in and owned Nintendo outta the first place for consoles a long time ago) but also Microsoft, and then Microsoft fanboys bashing Sony usually and sometimes Nintendo. Ah well.. people are stupid...

PS3 is a powerful System, I like lacks good games right now, no doubt. At least enough for me to want to buy it. But lots are coming out for it :P 360 is a good system now but has some flaws (pointed out before and in other threads) and has good games out now and more coming. Maybe enough for me to want to buy it, still not sure XD And Wii has a really interesting controller which allows for some very interactive gameplay. But, for me, lacks enough games at the moment to buy it. Ups, Downs, each has em.. sooner people realize it and stop saying one sucks completely and always will.. need to really stfu :\

Seriously though, is 600 dollars that bad? 500 soon enough.. lol.. really not a problem for me, it just takes time to save up enough, and I don't mind waiting :P

I have never owned a Xbox and I play ffxi now on PS2. $600 is ridiculous for a videogame with only a handful of games you can buy for it. I make a very good living so it's not like I can't go to bestbuy right now and get it if I wanted to. But that's not exactly chump change.

I'm going to make sure PS3 doesn't go the way of the Atari Jaguar or Sega CD before I fork over that kind of money for a console with limited games. Somehow I doubt if I'll ever be able to play ffxi on PS3. Just cause PS1 and PS2 were good doesn't mean PS3 will be. Nintendo and Super Nintendo were awesome but Nintendo 64 stunk.

Hehe, I know what you mean Tom :P So far it seems like PS3 will have enough exclusives in a year or so to make it worth it (assuming they stay exclusive). But I agree, if the system doesn't have enough to really be used too much than I wouldn't want to spend it either. But 600 isn't really all that much money (500 soon). My computer parts I wanna get to upgrade my computer would cost more than that and still probably wouldn't match the PS3's power :\ hehe

Just to throw out there, I play FFXI on PS3.

No improvements at all though, doesn't even support widescreen. But in theory it's a good deal if you want to play on a console but don't have the hard-drive and network adapter for PS2 already.(which I doubt are still being sold anywhere) Since it'll work off the PS3's harddrive and ethernet(or wireless).

Can't... resist... comment...

Actually, SEGA did that. Genesis and SNES achieved a tie, they ended the generation within 1 million sales of each other.

I don't even own a 360, and don't plan to buy one either, so where does Microsoft's advertising factor into anything...?

</console whore>

Nah, Sega didn't knock nintendo outta the way as much as Sony did. Sega TIED with Nintendo, didn't take over though. Sony did, however take a HUGE chunk of the market from nintendo, not just tie.
