Why is the Wii a fail?

but the difference between the games and videos is that the video is constantly being read from, whereas with most games, its just loaded and you play from there, without the laser doing any reading until the next level/area and so on.
Ah, so it's just the constant reading versus reading and loading. That makes sense, although I would have thought that DVD's would do something similar to games, just load a few chapters at a time and play them.

DVD players don't have hard drives or Gigs of RAM. Chapters are pretty large. They some memory, strictly for buffering a little bit of the movie ahead of what you're watching, so that when chapter changes do occur, you don't notice. Unless your disc is in awful shape, or the player is showing age.

Ya, so the PS2 plays DVDs and such fine but it isn't good for the laser :| and most DVD players do have a bit of storage but that's not really much, just the kinda "where did they leave off" thing.. at least I think. PS2, while had fun games, had quite a few draw backs. Though I never really had a problem with the laser, it's still something that I knew about and made sure to use my computer or something else to watch DVDs on :P

wii is better for 3 reasons.

its cheaper..making it worth buying ..
its has zelda...
the controller is cool.

oh and extra reason..my friend bought 6 ps3s and 6 xbox360s(too sell ofcourse)...the first 3 he opened for ps3 were broken..didnt work at all..xbox360 hes gone though 2 now..

"quality systems" as the black dude in the video said

hehe, I dunno, the Wii has its limits I worry about. Still not gonna say anything like it can't do something cause I'll just have to wait and see how developers do things with the Wii within the next year :P money isn't too much a problem for me so I don't look at the system's price, just the games. Controls are cool, but it still needs more time for games to really fine tune their games to the controls. Many games I've played so far didn't seem too great come control scheme.I really can't wait to see how it'll be in a year (well by the end of the year at least) and see what great games/gameplay it'll have. Again, the only thing I really worry about (not saying it will be, just something to worry about) are the hardware limitations :P when it comes to 360 I worry about the stability and, right now, when it comes to PS3, it comes to gaming library.

Eh, I'm not worried about the Wii's "hardware" limitations. The things it doesn't have, DvD playback, Blu-ray, 8 gajillion multi-uber cell Pentium nanoblaster radar processor, omgHDgraphicslawl, don't make a damn in the end. The 360 and PS3 have power but the Wii has Super Paper Mario. If you don't know what I'm gettin' at there, go play the game.

Eh, I don't really like Super Paper Mario all that much :P it's ok, but.. I'm just kinda sick of mario all together. And it's not the graphics, I mean the physics, game size, AI, etc that worries me for a game in the future.

My experience with the Wii was basically that it has a few games that I'd play socially, nothing I'd play solo, and the controller concept and execution doesn't really appeal to me.

At the moment, none of the next-gen systems really have anything to offer me when you get right down to it. Perhaps after the next major price drop in both the systems and the HD TVs you'd need to appreciate them.

Zelda is 40 hours, not counting side quests; super paper mario is supposed to be 40 hours, not counting all the extra stuff you can do. You're insane to think 40+ hours of gameplay is in any way "lacking." The physics couldn't be improved upon with the cell, because of the content of the game; the AI is fine as well. Your expecting unreasonable or just downright crazy(game length) requirements for the game.

There isn't much of a concern with maximum game length at this point, and that's easily solved by multi-disking(oh no, $0.10 more per game in costs). The only hardware limitation that will be of any concern is the lack of storage space for updates/additional content, but that can be easily remedied by Nintendo supporting a USB hard drive or just the SD memory cards which are dirt cheap nowadays.

Oh, and you fail for not liking super paper mario.

LOL!!!!! (Im not really poking fun at you, just pointing something :p) Ive been waiting for a long time for someone to put mario down because of its physics and AI!!! Although, I was hoping for a MS or Sony fanboy... lol

Zelda took me 36 hours to complete, no sidequests (and I did get stuck in a few places for a very long time)

Super Paper Mario took me around 23 hours-ish, and more getting stuck in a few places. (no sidequests here, either. That includes cooking, looking for secret areas with maps, etc.)

people think I'm a sony fanboy :P though I really don't care. Any system that holds the most game interests for me is the one I'll get first. And it's not physics or AI that bothers me about mario really.. I just got bored of the same game, essentially.

Zelda's fairly fun but the AI is really really easy. I didn't find any bit of Zelda a challenge really. I found it entertaining though, so it did its job. I don't doubt good games for Wii, hell, I like a few now. I see more in the future I'm sure I'll enjoy, and I'm betting they'll be even more since they seem to be getting more third party programmers back <3 And I'm told I fail for lots of things :| (like never playing Chrono series or the Ratchet and Clank games XD I really do wanna play the chrono series but I don't wanna use a ROM cause.. I dunno.. I just would rather use my SNES for it and finding a copy is not easy XD).

Edit: Gonna clerify, I have played Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross but not all that much.. not enough for me to say that I've really played them. I barely know much about it. Though I loved the battle system for.. which was it.. trigger? or were they the same... I can't remember :|.

Sit down and play both completely through. CC was the game with the chart battle system. CT had a normal Turn and go thing. Both just damn good games with high replay value.

Bah the interwebs gay, disregard this, I own a 360, fuck all of you.

The 360 is for people who wish they could afford a gaming PC. Get out of my internets.

Wii is winner for a few reasons.

Mario of coarse
Controller, This is the biggest factor. Wii now is the champ of sports game. Opens up a ton of posible games now because of it.

Price, its resonable price. for PS3, your basicly paying $600 for pritty graphics. And its painfuly ovius that most consumers are not paying that much for pritty graphics, and rather have fun games.

Nintendo products last long time.

Lastly, Most games are somewhat decent. Nintendo lets a few bad apples threw. sony lets any kid make a game.

Mario blows :P and in the past, it's cause the third party developers (well many) didn't care to put their games on Nintendo's system, sony's was easier and larger market, now more third party developers are going for Wii, I'm sure there'll be tons of bad apples just as there would be on Sony's or M$'s.

I've yet to play a Mario game that I didn't like. Anything that has Mario in it seems to be extremely awesome and addictive.

Mario is missing sucked balls, but then that was a Luigi game.

Win

Mario Sunshine wasn't that good either. That was just kind of lame.
