I didn't complain about people spelling things wrong. And like I said, my first language isn't english, so yes. I will spell things wrong.
My rant was towards people who don't know how to use dots, comas, paragraphs, and keep using annoying words like "u" and "r", and the numbers 0-9 as letters.
mt, lol, imo. Heck, even etc. are all abbreviations, and are not hard to read. I highly doubt you type out etcetera every time you want to involve that in a phrase, do you? However, when you involve "words" such as u, r, b4 etc. it's hard to take you serious.
Agreed Wyldarmz, if reading a paragraph with 20 lines makes your face "turn blue" and you get "exhausted", then christ go get some exercise. Your way out of shape. If there are no commas or periods in a paragraph, you are STILL ALLOWED TO BREATH!
Take one page, and write a long text without any comas, dots and paragraphs. I don't care what you type about. Then try to read it. Half-way through, you'll stop reading it because your head hurts and your eyes bleed. When I said that my face turns blue and I get exhausted, it was a figure of speech. I didn't mean mean it word-for-word.
However, if you read it out loud, you will get exhausted.
Here's an example, which one of these do you take the most serious, and have the easiest time reading?
1) hello my name is jamie I am a very clever little guy with large eyes and cheeks i am very good at math and i like to play outside with friends and once my mom said that i shouldnt be out to much because i might catch a cold but then i told her that it doesnt matter since i never get sick anyway so it doesnt matter but b4 that i told her that she better go take a bath because she smells and my dad then came and told me that "u smell too".
2) Hello, my name is Jamie. I am a very clever little guy with large eyes and cheecks. One of my favourit subjects in school is math, and on my free time I go play outside with friends. Once my mom told me that I shouldn't be out so much, since I might catch a cold. In my defence, I told her that I never get sick anyway, so why does it matter? But before that, I told her to go take a bath, since she was smelly. And to her defence, my dad answered with a "You smell too".
You can make it even easier to read if you split it in to paragraphs. For everyones sake, atleast learn how to use dots and comas... There are countless of posts on QCDN that I didn't even bother reading because of the lack of comas, dots, and paragraphs. I do read posts from people who use "u", "r", "b4" etc. but I'll take you more seriously if you use "you", "are" and "before".
And yes, I know people in America/England use different dialects and slangs. Every language has that. Aight, got'cha, wassup etc. are all ok to use,and I don't mind that. But you can atleast spell words that only use three letters properly. And whatever you say and do, numbers will never be letters -.- Feel free to prove me wrong. Please do turn in a paper to your englishteacher with no dots, comas, paragraphs, and numerical words. And please do post it in it's whole here so we can see her remarks. I highly doubt any english teacher will agree with what you've written.
And once again, I know that many people (including me) don't have english as a first language. And like I said before, I don't mind if you can't spell it properly. I also don't mind if you have grammaticall errors. But please, for gods sake, atleast use dots, comas, paragraphs, letters (no numbers), and spell out three letter words -.-
