I am sorry, but time after time I read posts about the drama in End-Game, and I ask myself, wtf? Why do I want to get involved in that bullshit? I want into Dynamis like no bodies business, and actually applied to a shell that some current drama revolves around (Although that was almost two freaking weeks ago and no response on here or thier personal website).

I guess I will just stick with the Social Shell (unless someone can really tell me why I should bother, and I dont care if no one cares about my post on this topic, if you dont have anything constructive to say don't bother posting as, again, I don't care) I help run and play the game Pre-End-Game until I get sick and tired of playing and quit, because I have enough Drama in real life, I definitely don't need that in a video game.

Rule #1 of ARC Alliance: Drama in ls chat = Broken Pearl (If you cant deal with it in /tell mode, GTFO).

And this has worked for my shell for a year now.

Why isn't this on the Flameboard? >_>

Nobody wants drama (besides those that start it), but they want their gear more than they don't want drama.

Good gear I suppose, as well as the chance to kill some really cool/challenging stuff. In most cases, I think that you get into as much drama as you let yourself. But then I'm not an expert at end game since I haven't been involved in it until recently.

I'd recommend giving it a shot and seeing if you like it. The game totally changed for me when I started end game stuff. Instead of having to find stuff to keep me busy while I was lfg, I don't have enough time to do half the things I'd like to. Try it and see if you like it or hate it.

That's the thing though...Nobody can tell you. You've heard of drama in end-game and you know it exists. Even the most squeeky clean shells will see some drama. Of course you don't want to knowingly commit to a shell that has a reputation for being overly dramatic about every little thing.

What you do with your time is up to you. WHY do so many people join end game shells when socials are more relaxing and fun? Gear.
And if you don't want gear or the challenge of end game strategies and such, I'd say don't bother. If you do find yourself wanting gear and to try something different and challenging, you're not left with much choice but to join an end game shell. Just make sure it fits your schedule and you're ok with the people in it. No sense to pour gasoline on fire...Unless you like drama.

Dynamis shells aren't really known for drama though. There have been some cases, but a majority of the drama comes from sky and major HNMs. If you stick to just Dynamis (if that's your thing), then you should be able to enjoy it for all its worth. For the very beginning, it'll be a little different and once you have the workings down, you can just shoot the breeze so to speak like any other social shell. From what I've seen, people just go into dynamis, tell jokes, talk shit, have fun because when it comes down to the terribly repetitive nature and poor drop rates, it's a welcome reprieve.

mmm you should probably avoid endgame. You seem really impatient. I went to go see when you applied and the first post was made on the 12 which means it has just been over a week. It's also the holiday season, so most people should expect a some delays. The thread is checked, but no one responds to you there. You will get a tell in-game around the time of a dynamis run you expressed intrest in in you application.

I can't speak for the leaders, but getting huffy over waiting a week is bad form.

If you don't do endgame, then really all there is to do is exp and that's boring. Endgame, even with all of the drama, you get to kill the biggest and hardest monsters in the game, loot is just a nice bonus to the thrill of accomplishment from beating something challenging.

Dynamis is practically drama free though.

Nah, there's plenty of other things to do. Crafting, helping people out, quests.... crafting... um... quests...

Beats me. I don't really see the draw of most of the endgame stuff outside of gear. I thought Sky was boring... as... hell... when I was up there. As far as endgame activities go, I stick to Dynamis and Limbus. They're fun to me and are on a set schedule.

Your milage may vary.

Crafting at this point is throwing your money away unless you want to sign your own gear or you have insane luck with HQ's; you also need money for crafting so unless you have a few million you're not using that's out. Questing, you can do while in an endgame shell, but there's a fixed number and a good 90% aren't even worth doing. Same with helping people, they don't need help all the time(unless they're REALLY pathetic) so you're still left with lots of free time.

Scheduled endgame is usually much more drama free, especially when there's little to no actual competition involved in participating.

You shouldn't do end-game if that's your attitude about it.

Drama comes to any LS when actions and rules communicated through leadership somehow give an unfair advantage to a few selected individuals, and those bothered by the inequality expose it in an unsightly way.

If your best response to your problems with an LS leadership is to post on the QCDN flameboard, then you should stay out of end-game.

The flameboard is more often used to correct punctuation and grammer, belittle the original poster, and derail topics to direct attention to an inflated body part. For me, the flameboard is an enjoyable read when I'm bored at work.

If you're educating yourself about end-game through the flameboard, then all you'll learn is that people make mistakes and have a hard time learning from them. Rather, I suggest you go to the Good-Times thread and see exactly what excitement there is to experience, and by chance, maybe you'll find some decent people who you'll enjoy your time with.

Not responding to applications, even as simple as stating that they have been recieved, or that "I will receive a /tell around the time of dynamis that i am expressing interest in" is bad form for a LS trying to recuit new members.

And if you think that I can just drop everything I am doing just to run to Dynamis at a moments notice when I havent been told beforehand to expect it, then I want no part of your LS.

Edit-Additon to post:

I am looking at Dynamis because I want to have fun in more then EXP and helping the Social LS I run. All other End-game events I have looked at are just too time constraining, and I have an obligation to the LS I run. Dynamis is supposed to be a predictable, scheduled event, and Kaizen has the times I am looking for that I wont be at work (not to mention SUPPOSEDLY recruiting PLD's). I dont know anyone in the shell, and I apologize if I appear impatient, but I live in the real world where everything is now, and when someone expresses an interest in MY Organization (I Recruit for the Military) I dont let them go more then 2 days without at least making contact to acknowledge that I am aware of thier interest. If that makes me impatient, then so be it.

It's bad form to get pissy and demand special treatment, especially when it's stated in the only announcement on the page how they will respond to you.

the rules said:
so after you've posted, please wait for us to get back to you. if we want to inquire further about your application or accept you into the ls, we'll most likely send you a tell directly in game
Sorry people can't spend their lives staring at the recruitment thread waiting for your post so they can instantly respond. If this is your attitude, you'll do well to avoid endgame, since few linkshells want someone as impatient as you're portraying yourself to be. If you had bothered to be patient, you probably would have been accepted, you still might, I don't know.

Dont bother.

I dont want special treatment. In fact I don't want treatment at all. I apologize for waisting your ls's time. 9 Days. and all I get is a flame because I am wondering when I am going to hear something. Can't help I am actively seeking a shell and your seemed like the best fit, was jsut hoping to hear something before some other shell picked me up.

I find it kinda funny you made a post about wondering if end game was worth it because of the drama, only to create your own drama, before you even get a pearl.

Actually in Post #12 the start of the drama is quoted. I wasn't trying to start anything, I was just questioning outloud whether I really wanted into End-Game or not. If I picked the wrong forum or means to do that (which is comming apparent very fast that I did) then again, I apologize to everyone.

You didn't get a flame.... you got a response. I didn't call you names or anything. I feel you honestly wont enjoy endgame. If you are concerned with drama and then complain about waiting for a week and start exagerrating; perpetuating the drama you are concerned about....

Well I'll just leave it at that. You wont enjoy it. It requires alot of sitting around doing nothing, which coincidently is probably why people start shit with each other. They're bored.

I made one offhand mention of waiting for a response in the original post, and I would have continued waiting while hoping that someone was going to post something positive in this thread in order to spur me on to continue my persuit of end-game. I did get a few positive posts. And for those I thank you.

I get invites almost daily on the game to end-game ls's, which I turn all down because none are 1. Dynamis or 2. Dynamis at the right time. I have a very limited amount of time to play, and when I am able to play I want to participate in fun activities.

If that means that I just tank things for my Social for the rest of the time I play this game, that would be fine, but would get boring as hell. I want more and Dynamis is the only thing that fits. I like the idea of HNMLS, but its too time contraining with the amount of time I would have to sit on the LS for pops.

I did not want this thread turned into drama. I just wanted to hear some positive reasons besides gear (sorry, I dont care about how big my e-peen is and gear will come if I am meant to get it) as to why I should even bother.

If they can't decide in a week about a new member, then someone isn't doing their job. Three days, max. Anything else is just lazy unless the application is complicated by circumstance.

OP, don't let people put a hook in your mouth. They would like nothing better than to see you stick your neck out so they can take a look at that vein. That's what endgamers do more than anything. They just want to see you deconstruct because in the end they subconsciously would rather see you "not in" than "in." They don't want competition from people who doubt their lifestyles.
