Hello all. I've been playing a lot of Okami lately, and for some reason I'll be playing for a few hours and the entire Wii system freezes up on me. It always seems to happen while playing only Okami and at the beginning of a battle. This has happened three times so far and I have lost at least two and a half hours worth of gaming because of this.

Can anyone shed some light on to why it might be doing this? Oh and for the record, it's not overheated, I checked that out already and that shouldn't be the case.

Thank you in advance for the help,
Realia

I really don't know, but mine will sometimes freeze up on the first load of a game, or a channel, and I'll need to restart. It's been good, ironically, ever since I got Okami though.

I never really figured it out, since it could never be overheating with mine. And without knowing more about how the Wii works on the insides, I never could really speculate with any sort of accuracy.

Has there been any sort of consistency in the situations in which it occurs? Like battles in the same area, or against certain enemies, or ones you can't run from vs. ones you can, etc.?

The only consistent thing is that it happens at the beginning of battles on my game and it's only happened with Okami. My boyfriend hasn't had any problems like this with his game. I'm so fed up with it I'm thinking of sending it back to get a new one. This is just ridiculous.

Try a new game for a little while and see if it happens there. If it doesn't, it might be something in the save file that didn't save properly or something. Or if it does, try erasing your Okami data. Would suck to lose all your data, but would suck more to send it in, and even more if it persisted after you got it back.

Mine freezes up a lot, too, often only upon first loading a game or channel. I just assume its faulty hardware since Ive had mine since release. Im guessing newer models have fewer problems.
