Windower this, windower that

Thing is, who cares if you got suspended? Why are you even trying to defend or justify yourself. If you are sure of what you did (just using windower) and it wasn't what others feel it is (hacking) what is the point of this post?
 
Odds say you did cheat. Most people will believe that. I could give two shits less. No sob story will work on me cause you knew windower broke ToS. Whether you think it is right or wrong, has no relevance to this.

You broke the rules whether it actually was justwindower, or you had other hax.

okay, its not a sob story, and apparently, plenty of people care. All I did was post that I go suspended in the general ffxi thread, which WAS on subject of the thread, and people had to go haywire, telling me I did use tools and hacks, which was BS. All I did was make a thread on flameboard so that it could be here, and not in general. Big whoop.

You people are never satisfied, seriously. Not too bright either. If you dont care, dont post, easy as that, right?

Well, thing is, you didn't really answer the question or statement. So I will repost with saying, why are you trying to justify yourself? Who here matters enough for you to care what they think why you were suspended? If people in your LS know and believe you and any other circle of friends you have, then why even care what others think?

P.S. asking a question isn't caring, its being nosey.

chances that you are one of the few innocents is slim to none. I think you need to take a step back and accept that fact. You can see the outsiders point of view from the reaction. And of course your friends say it could never be you, that they "know" you wouldn't.

Well, people defended OH to the end of the world, and a year later Chasym opened up their hacking forum.

Like I said, I could care less why you got suspended, but to stand here shocked that people don't believe you is retarded.

Unless i read incorrectly, the title bar in Windower constantly renames itself to avoid being detected, which implies it being detectable, however easy isnt known to me. Take a look for urself and then read the documentation on windower . . . at least the older versions of windower had it.

Now, im not taking sides, here, but why is everyone so quick to point fingers at who they think hax? Point one finger, and uve got three pointing back at you. Has this game turned into counter-strike? Must FFXI suffer the same fate by preteens and adolescents? This post, if anything, should just be viewed as more reason to be . . . cautious.

Anyway, to cover my own arse. I'm not takin a side here, as ive said. I couldn't give a rat's arse who cheats and who doesnt . . . ive seen enough Japanese clip through walls to not care anymore.

No, thats somthing SE implimented a while back. If you could look at it without running windower (Someone with dual screen and whatnot) you'd see it changing names as well.

Unless you've got proof shut the hell up. I love it whenever someone gets banned it's always "YOU HAXORZ GTFO!"?!" SE couldn't find their own arse with two hands, i'm bloody surprised they even catch 1 RMT. People will get banned for just using windower and people will get banned for sweet fuck all.
 
yeah the changing names thing is just a mask, There is one static title that never changes hidden behind that and thats "PlayOnlineMaskUS", without that static title though it would make it very difficult for anyone to use hacks with it since most hacks around now adays need the use of the window title to hook in, .

the only thing is that i have yet to see one person who got suspended or banned and they didnt hack, In the hacker community we openly say "it was because of hacks", Theres alot of people in that community and over there i have yet to hear the "I only use windower" defense.
You come here, and everyone uses that defense. I know i did, and everyone believed me too.
"You could never used hacks, Thats such BS you got suspended!!" stuff like that was all i saw.
Currently anyone who says they were suspended and NEVER touched a hack is most likley lying out of their ass in a hope to get people to believe it.
And since the time for that belief has passed and went, good luck.

SE doesnt have to give you a reason for your ban besides the loosely used phrase "Use of third party programs"
Chances of getting banned for JUST windower.

what i dont get is why people come out and say something instead of just hang in the shadows of your 72 hour suspension in silence and hope no one notices your gone. I only said something because someone i told i was suspended who was a friend said something publically about it.

If SE installs code that sends back information about your runtime processes. Which they cannot do without us saying they can, which hasn't happened yet.

You miss the point, they dont need to ban you for you to sue them over that. Mr Straight as a board no windower or nothing who finds out/is told about this can sue over invasion of privacy under the current EULA and ToS.
Also this "speed boost" thing sounds rather fishy to me, seeing as i'd never seen it, or even heard of it untill you brought it up.
 
Ok I was given a 3 day suspension before, why? Well i've used a hack before, well I say used I ran one of the MrArgus things that tells you all the mobs in the zone and when they die, someone told me that I could find out when an NM popped with it, I had no fucking idea how to use the thing and after about 30 seconds of sitting there thinking "what the hell is this thing doing?" I closed it and deleted it, right there was the 1 and only time i've ever used a hack. I still wouldn't know how to use it if you gave it me again, all I got was a list of mob names and some weird codes next to them.

However I got suspended AGES before I tried this. The only thing I had done wrong was use Windower, so as the GM said it was third party programmes it must have been windower. Now I know i'll probably get people coming on here saying "YOU MUST OF HAXORZED B4 DEN". However I know I didn't and no one had my account details then anyway. Also I couldn't really care less what 99% of QCDN thinks.
 
SE has more right to ban xbox 360 users for voice chat then ban for windower.
As voice chat is an advantage same as windower. But it is easy to tell what sort of machine your using when you play FFXI. But it is not easy to look into some ones PC. The TOS only got updated a few weeks after the 360 version came out as they had to make voice chat legal to use when on FFXI. Also at that time they made fraps legall as well as in no way does it effect FFXI. So if you got ban and only used windower your:
1) on GM Dave's hit list.
2) Hacked and lieing about it.

A voice chat according to SE doesnt alter the game itself in anyway. Windower does.

PS. I don't think SE should ban for either personally..

And why the hell won't they? I'd find it an extremely welcome change, and anyone who wants to leave because of it... let's just say the loss of those people would be a positive thing for this game.
 
If SE banned Windower users then at least half (maybe more) of the player base would be gone.
 
SE will never approve a rule that will threaten their biggest user base. They want that monthly payment.

That's why some things keep being a necesary evil, for them at least...
 
They need to implement IME into the NA version, thatd get rid of some users using windower. But if they're gonna be retarded about it . . . then so be it.
 
You know, there are always going to be people that do wrong and when they're found out, they like to go to the community and give one of those "I'm innocent" performances in hopes to keep others from knowing/believing the truth.

However, there are also those that are punished for crimes they haven't committed and you see it on the news all the time.

To completely ignore the possibility that someone can be suspended for not having used any hacks (not including Windower), is just ignorance.

And though I know little of programming, I still would have to believe that until it comes from SE's mouth, they might have a way to detect windower. They're the ones that built the game, they're the ones that host the game, so anything internal to do with programming has to be something they can figure out and considering that there have been chat logs showing that GMs say they can detect Windower, I would have to stand by that. They probably say that to discourage the use of the program, but the point is that the GMs represent the game and so I'd have to take their word first.

Also, when someone who feels they're being judged wrongly, its not uncommon for them to try to justify themselves and defend themselves. But its also not uncommon for people to believe in the worst of someone they don't know either.

All I can say is that if Ruffy had ever used a hack other than windower, to my understanding his character would be a bit better off. I don't know much on hacks, but from what i've heard they either guarantee you claim a mob, they allow your character to flee indefinitely or they give you details about when an NM will spawn or if it has etc. I've never seen any evidence in the entire time i've known Ruffy having had access to any of those cheats.
