What a petty person you must be to actually think that Windower is not detectible. And then to say that when someone gets suspended for it, they must hack. But yeah anyways, everyone who is accusing Ruffy of hacking needs to just shut up already. I read through the first few pages and everyone keeps saying he is banned. HE IS NOT BANNED. HE IS ONLY SUSPENDED and will be getting his access back.

If he hacked, I would know. And he doesn't. =/

Oh and since many here are saying that removing Windower would wipe a very large portion of SE's userbase... kinda sad, says something bad about the game.

That is true on most of the population, really. I agree with it. Way too many people are hypocrites and will act just like that in the example you gave. But I'm still going to come and say that he doesn't hack. People most likely are going to choose not to believe me either and say I only want to hide something for a hacker (when he isn't). But a lot of the people in the game and this forum are always dishonest at something, so accusing me of being dishonest is fallacious. Really, if he hacked, I think him and the rest of us would be better off than we are. And we're not. So can't really accuse me for keeping a hacker for my own benefit. I have already kicked an LS member who pretty much revealed his use of "many 3rd party programs", among various other reasons. I don't like hackers (edit: in any game), especially those that will use them against you making the game unfair.

Btw, I only quoted you Meeze for anyone else who is going to take their biased stand against him. No point in replying to someone who already stated it doesn't matter to, which is reasonable since it doesn't involve you. It's for the rest. You hit many points, but for anyone who tries to use them against Ruffy, I'm going to defend against.

You miss the point, they dont need to ban you for you to sue them over that. Mr Straight as a board no windower or nothing who finds out/is told about this can sue over invasion of privacy under the current EULA and ToS.

not that i disagree with the bulk of this but anyone who thinks they're gonna sue SE over anything related to FFXI didn't read their EULA and ToS very well. Same with those that think your computer sends SE information about running processes.

There are symptoms of windower that are detectable serverside but they could have multiple causes. Unless you said something in a log that was watched for whatever reason, bragged about it, got ratted out, etc. They don't know shit. If they did it wouldn't take peregrine reporting every fleehacker he spotted for 3 months straight, they'dve already known. It also wouldn't require 'investigation' so much as a quick check and a whomp of the banhammer.

Until such time as someone can give me something more solid then 'oh they can check it' the evidence is against it, chasym or not.

Edit: Immediately jumping to ZOMG ruffy haxxors was a dick move, to be sure, but wtf could you have expected from the FB crowd? srsly.

Ruffy is way too unlucky to have hacked. I doubt he would have spent 2 weeks at Biast, and another week at Orctrap if he was hackin, no matter what the type of hack.

Actualy, if they did install a program like thay, under the current EULA they are open to lawsuits. If they changed it to say that by agreeing we give them permission, then no we cant.

Because us "old timers" have seen more people get suspended for "only using windower" only to come out later after the permaban and admit to cheating. Take Chasym for example. He wasn't permabanned, but he said something like he only played on PS2 or something. I don't fully remember details from that thread.

I don't understand why everyone is arguing about how it can or can't be detected. You know what, on the Archbell website it says use at your own risk. Which means if you've been suspended it may have been for that or it may not have been. But still, when you use the program there's always THE CHANCE that they might find out. It's best to play it safe and just not use it in my opinion. You can always play on a PS2 or 360 near a computer. Besides... Looking at porn slows down parties. "Sorry guys, I was afk." "Oh really.>_>"
