Wings of the Goddess job classes

Yes, I am too. But like I said, they could still consider it for a later expansion :p

And the point of chocobo knight is to have your chocobo as a pet, not a mount. That would be stupid <.< Besides, the food idea is still a decent suggestion for PUP, BST and DRG me thinks. Hell, it makes sense that rewarding your pet makes him happy and perform better. Besides, now I won't have to go to bed regretting I didn't write my idea down and having forgotten it the next morning. Nor will I have to regret not attempting to make a change :p

gear slots for pets would be nice as well like pup

or passive traits for pets in nice packages I-IV like melee and mages get to enhance their traits

The problem with pet jobs(Bst mostly) and the reason I believe SE is so careful not to touch is because they cant figure out what to give bst and other jobs that they cant use to their own advantage solo.

Which is kinda dumb since other jobs have this benefit even as subs(nin,/nin) but for some jobs and SE's wishes like to annex bst to the party role, maybe they think that giving more buffs it'll push us farther into the solo aspect. which is kinda true exping on your own is very nice at a slower rate with all drops

Giving them foods that give various boosts wouldn't increase your exp/ht by a lot, since you normally charm an enemy and then uncharm it. Sure, you might kill slightly faster, but considering the recast time of it is 3 min unmerited without Bison hat, you wouldn't get the full effect out of it. It also wouldn't make an all THAT noticable difference on your performance.

As for DRG, they mainly rely on their pet to heal them. So giving the Wyvern food to attack slower or harder wouldn't enhance their exp/hr by a lot.

As for PUP, they, too, manily rely on their puppet to heal them. So it wouldn't effect t hem much in solo play.

So giving them food which gives their pets small boosts, wouldn't make them overpowered in solo play, but would still make them slightly better in exp party situations. It won't make them suddenly more desired in TP burns, but it would at least be a start.

Merits might be nice in how they function, but it doesn't fix the crippling "less damage for more TP deliverance" issues.

Maybe so but i still Out DD wars, monks, thiefs, and nin's. I have a parse if u would like to see and No we were fighting lizards not colibri

oh oh oh I have a job idea!
It's called the Hypnotist.
It probably has the best most awesomest ability out of all the jobs. It's called Prestidigitation, and it causes all linked mobs to become hyponitized and make out with each other, allowing the group to excape or sit there and laugh at them.

EDIT: Hell, lets just make it a Mindtaker class!
MIND-TAKING, BABY! Accept NO SUBSTITUTES

Since its the past, the most obvious job would be "Torturer", and "Witch Hunter". Perhaps "Slave Driver" too.

Hmm Slave Driver,...sounds like a good concept,..except for one small detail, slavery isn't of the past  it still goes on today. Maybe FF can add a sweatshop in alittle corner in Whitegate. I can see it now:

Slave Driver Quest: Enslave as many FF players as you can before the timer runs out.Whips and chains add for time extension.

Correction, any 2-handed melee without sublte blow simply gives too much TP :p Dark Knight gives a lot of TP. DRG gives a lot of TP, even without their pets out.

Another easy way to fix most melee jobs, DRG included, is changing the way 2-handed weapons work completely. Would also make Great Axe Warriors better.

Theres a very large difference between "too much TP" and a decent Damage:TP Given ratio.

Sure, every individual hit a Dark Knight does is a butt load of TP, but their damage is atleast good enough to justify it. Puppetmaster lacks subtle blow, and uses hand to hand. Sure, their individual hits don't fork out as much TP as a Scythe(later on, anyway,) but considering it's two hits, thats TP+3 and TP+3, assuming both hit. Then add in the Automaton which gains 6 or 7 TP for himself on melee hits, so thats an additional 9-10.

This is also why mages do not melee in any serious fight, even with NIN sub granting up to 10% reduced TP given through Subtle Blow. The ratio is just extremely awful for it.

Its not visible on normal exp mobs. However, in Salvage, where people usually fight close to their limits, with minimal equipment etc. it is highly noticable. especially on machinery that all have horrible AoE moves :p

If you've ever done Gyroscopic Gears, you'll know how horribly inefficient it is to have 2-handed melees meleeing it. More so for Restoral, which ends up healing himself for more then all melees total can damage him for, then the AoE's.

I got an awesome idea, how about instead of adding even more jobs, they fix the 18 jobs we already have and get nice balanced gear and what not out for all the jobs we already have! Sounds fucking splendid.

I dread those few days after the expansion is released, when I go looking for party members and every idiot is seeking on their omgTIM!!!! in an attempt to be the first to level it to 75 in two days.

I'm kind of satisfied with the job wheel we have now, to be honest. The only job that I think we sort of, kind of, maybe if you squint real hard "need" is a third tank which can hold it's own against PLDs and NINs. You just know that some of these "new and exciting" jobs are going to be horribly designed fan-service jobs which are just thrust upon us in an attempt to boost membership numbers. I mean the obvious way to fix the unbalances we have now would be to add more jobs, duh - silly you!

Still... I observe the whole process with an almost morbid curiosity o0

If they really do go through with adding new jobs a new tank is 100% needed. Two tanks and the game being out, what, 5 years now, nearly everyone has 75 PLD and NIN now it seems. Corsair was a nice addition to the refresh role.

something tells me there will not be 3 new jobs.

three jobs would be uneven, since there's an even amount of jobs now. That would mean the "Job change" screen would have an unopen spot. Hence, the choice is between 2 or 4 jobs. 2 would mean they can't add what they want, since they always seem to add one melee job, one pet job and one support job.

RoZ had SMN as support/pet job, DRG as melee/pet, SAM as melee, and NIN as "support"/melee

ToAU had COR as melee/support, BLU as a bit of everything really, and PUP as pet job.

So logically, they either need to make 2 jobs that fit in to each of the categories similar to BLU, or add 4 jobs. 1 tank, 1 support, 1 pet and 1 melee. And it makes sense that they would add one to each city - Sandy, Windy, Bastok, and Tavnazia or Jeuno. I do believe Jeuno were only a small fishing town at this time, or were that further back in time? and I SE partially mentioned travelling to the old Tavnazia might be a possibility. So that leaves us with either Jeuno or Tavnazia as the 4th town.

Speaking of which, I'd love to see Windy while it were NOT flooded.

Either way, putting the jobs by their respective city, Sandy were and is a noble nation, and used to be one of the nations with strongest military power, and were raising the black Destriers as battle chocobos. Which, untill recently, had "died out". Windy, as always, is mostly trained in magic. Bastok is the typical mechanical nation. Hence, it makes sense that each of the three main nations would get a job fitting their theme.

Hence, we could get something like the following:
Sandy: Chocobo Knight
Bastok: Alchemist
Windy: Geomancer

Assuming SE does not want to make the number of jobs uneven, nor leave out one of the nations with a job, we have a 4th to add to this list. So either Jeuno, which don't really have a theme of itself and is mainly a trading/fishing town, it leaves us with Tavnazia. No idea what real "theme" this nation have, so it would possibly be one of the out-of-the-blue jobs like PUP.

What I find slightly surprising, is that supposedly, the siblings (the boy and girl) from the intro video, according to SE, were involved in the CoP storyline somewhere in some way, but I can't remember ever seeing either of them. And the girl supposedly died.

Either way, Tavnazia used to be connected to the mainland, so I believe there's a high possibility that this will be the new "capital", like Jeuno and Aht Urhgan White Gate before. SE also said that you could possibly meet them again in this expansion, which hints that going to Tavnazia is possible.

I can't personally remember ever seeing the boy from the intro video. I also haven't personally done the quest he's involved in. However, the necromancer from the quest is involved in the mannequin quest. He agrees to breathe life in to the mannequin in order to bring back his beloved Alsha.

As you can see, she's been dead for 20 years, and he's strived to find a way to bring her back to life. That means she most likely died during the crystal war 20 years ago, which is the time this expansion takes us back to, no? Which means we'll likely see this NPC in the past.

Now, back to who he might be. I haven't personally seen this NPC, but possibly he might be the boy from the intro vid. Or he's someone completely unrelated.

Either way, it hints towards Tavnazia being one of the towns we get to visit, and possibly Necromancer being the last job. That boy had to have learnt it from somewhere.

edit: its completely possible we only get 2 jobs, both given in Tavnazia as well. I somehow find 3 unlikely though.

Aldo and her are them? :p And no, I don't. I finnished the expansion like 3 years ago or something <.< so no, I don't remember much from the storyline :p Additionally, I am unable to view the intro vid anymore. It never shows up for me, even with it supposedly activated :p so I haven't watched that for like 5 years.

And what I find weird, is that SE is bringing us back to the crystal war, and giving us more then one new job. But how were they not in the platoon sent to beaucedine glacier to fight the shadow lord?
