What opinions do you guys have about the jobs they may come out in the expansion if are any

What classes do you believe it will bring

Do you think it will end the Tank job class shortage

Please do a search. This topic has been beat to death in at least 3 threads already. Someone bring in the picture of the dead horse being beaten please.

Peace,
Shmed

I was thinking to myself, "self, it's been a while since we've seen anything about speculation on new jobs with the new expansion pack." And here it is, talk about coincidence!

You make it sound like this site has some sort of search function. I'm so sick of you elitest pricks picking on people for doing nothing wrong. Untill this piece of shit gimp site gets a search function you should just back off.

Who knows, I really don't know how the hell they're going to tie in these new jobs to an expansion about the past. I think if anything, Celv's ideas about the new classes are probably the best thought out speculations so far. I just really, really hope they don't do something lame like Painter, or some crap like that.

Look at what WoW has. Then speculate.

If anything, just like they did "by popular demand" with BLU when ToAU came out, they'll probably introduce TIM (Time Mage) or GRN (Green Mage) but it'll be the same Time Mage concept. As for the TIM/GRN quest, It'll probably be an NPC in the past who also exists in the present.

After that, it's totally up in the air. I would HOPE they add a new tank class to the mix. GLD (Gladiator) would be pretty darn cool. Powerful defenders of the past before they began to use white magic which then created the Paladins of the present. GLD could basically be PLDs with no magic skills, but stronger defensive stats.

And to appease the emo crowd, NCR (Necromancer) Besides, when you're on the Selbina/Mhaura ferry and Pirates attack....the humes that show up are basically Necromancers. SE may put in a lil' storyline where Necromancy used to be a much more common practice in the past, but then became outlawed. Now in the present, the only people who are trained in Necromancy are Pirates who use their powers to attack other ships. I wouldn't be too surprised if NCR related quests are based on Norg fame like some of the NIN scroll quests.

For the love of gumbercules, why do we need a GREEN mage?

Cause the power rangers already have White ranger, Red, black, and blue?

I think it's time for the American Indian!

I mean, Europe has the Paladin. The far east has the Nin and Sam. The middle east got the BLU. Hell, even france got the Thf and "flee". It's the US's turn!

Necromancer is a possibility. There's Eldiem Necropolis, and there's also a NPC that's a necromancer involved in a CoP quest, in Tavnazia I believe. As an example, the Homam/Nashira NPC talks to a Blue Mage in the CS when you trade the pieces in, that were a huge tip-off that Blue Mage would be one of the jobs involved in the new expansion. Hence why I had been talking a long time before it were announced that Blue Mage would be one of the jobs. Additionally, SE did unintentionally mention in the interview that going to the pre-war Tavnazia could be a possibility.

However, Necromancer were one of the more popular jobs that the fanbase at allakhazam wanted, and everyone knows SE tries to please them. SE could not see how necromancer could work in the game, so they gave us PUP instead. Either that, or they saw that as a better chance to explain Alexander ;) Either way, one job involving death is somewhat likely, considering the circumstances. The second somewhat likely job is Mimic, since it were a rather popular job in past games. However, as of yet there's really no mention of an NPC with mimic-like abilities. However, I'm still crossing my fingers that Mimic will be one of the jobs.

In all seriousness though, in order to figure out what the jobs will be, we'd have to see what NPC's are out there, since those jobs can't have entirely died out :p And SE will most likely put hints in the game about the next expansion as it draws nearer. That's what they did with CoP. The entire expansion mentioned Far East and their problems, and then they added a BLU NPC before the job were released. The entire NPC helper storylines were around Near East, and they hinted about Near East in other places as well.

So my theocraftery (is that even a word?) tells me the following:
1) Necromancer (would be the out-of-nowhere job like PUP)
2) Mimic (Would be the "obvious" job?)
3) Insert in-between job that's been in previous game but no one could see how it could work (read: Corsair). So perhaps Geomancer

Europe has Red Mage too :o

If you want something US's turn, you'll get a fat chocobo knight.

So they're cors?

Since its the past, the most obvious job would be "Torturer", and "Witch Hunter". Perhaps "Slave Driver" too.

Maat?
I'm thinking Past Maat (I just retyped that three times, I kept hitting the shift key too late x.x) will be the G5 quests for the new jobs. Maybe the senile old bastard forgot how those jobs work as he got older. Senile old bastard.
