There english is kind of poor, yeah i talked to them though the day they logged onto my account. All i got out of them was they weren't "thieves" and if IGE gave them there money back they would return it(this was 5 days ago). Untill then they said it was there account and they would do as they please with it for example sell my my ninja gear that was on there.
 
How much was it sold for? Would you consider buying it back if all else fails?

Dunno why but i lose sleep on this. How a simple account can be stolen /cry

well i've thought about that, but i can't really do it even if i wanted to. 1) How do i know they will comply and give me my account back after i send them the money and 2) I'm on strict lock down atm managing money, i'd rather not spend the 149.99(they claim, which really pisses me off because its got to be worth way more then that) on a fantasy character that i may or may not get back.

very few have answered my orgional question so far.
Should i keep waiting on my character to come back, or move on and try and "replace" it with one of my old accounts. I'm looking at a 2-3 month process getting this account back in full swing where i am now on titti's account with her and kelzeins in crafting(inflation makes it a ruff road)

well the question really should be how did someone get access to your account. Every other person that i have heard about getting their account stolen has had some kind of game modification program that had a key logger in it. If u want to have a chance at catching the person that stole your account it would be useful to list all of the programs that u use that are related to the game be it windower, FFXI movies, botting program or otherwise. It is very possible that one of these is the source of your problem and could lead to the IP of the person that stole ur account. All codes leave tracks. I'm not good at coding but im sure if u find something suspicious there are people in this community that could help u out.
 
i use fraps, thats about it. my main system is on ps/2, titti has always been on reserve system for the most part.
I don't use bots, i dont know how. The one time i tried using something that was supposed to be like a windower(don't know the name anymore x something) i got all confused and just said fuck it and went back to the normal system. fraps is easy, i just install it and it runs on its own.

Personally I would keep going, what do you have to lose? Sure it might get a little stressful at times but hopefully you will come on top.

You know it's time consuming - costly & you know how to do it all :)
Its whether you want to take the time... and if it's what you want to do...
Yes Titti was taken.. but you know my stance on levelling another char- you are a good player- you can do it!
You also owe it to yourself to see this delima resolved !! Do not give up !
As was prev. stated- trails are left & you will eventually find out what happened. If u have the desire to play that job up- do it- if not...don't.. but remember- this is supposed to be fun.. Look outside yourself & see what makes you happy!
 
the person was shouting in Lower Jeuno claiming they were bought the account for christmas ect ect.
 
Moral of the story. Don't give anyone your info unless you're fully willing to accept the risks. I have friends who have shared their info with me, and I personally enjoy having that trust, and wouldn't do anything to lose it. But to anyone out there, again. If you're not sure you want to risk it, then don't. It's that simple.

If you by chance did somehow get hacked, then you obviously havn't been keeping up on your system as you should, and that again leads back to... do you really wanna take that risk?
 
you have so many accounts, maybe you sold one and forgot about it D:

what kind of normal person has 7 accounts with 9 characters each lol
 
Didn't Cubswoo post a thread a month or two back about a virus that seemed to have the sole purpose of collecting, and transmitting to the virus originator, FFXI log-in info? If my memory is correct, then you should do some serious file checking.

I just have to say one more time that I find the whole thing very odd, and that is putting it mildly. I would advise that those who are not involved do not contact Titti in regards to this. I surely know that I wouldn't simply because there are a lot of things that do not add up for me.
 
This is really confusing that just one of "your" accounts was compromised?

Did you buy it from someone originally and just do a yank back?

That's sort of odd.. when I talked to the person on the Tittimonga account a couple days ago (Thought it was you Passions, I was looking for a WHM for a party) the person actually seemed rather well spoken. He spoke english rather fluently if you ask me.

I don't understand why it seems "funny" or "fishy" at all. Unless Passions has a history of being a liar, then I didn't see anything that could be foul play other than the fact that he got royally screwed. I do remember that trojan virus breaking loose and hoping I didn't get smoked by it, but maybe passions wasn't so lucky. Please ellaborate on why you think things don't add up other than "my foot is tingling so something is wrong!" theory.

And back to the question of the thread: No. Just keep leveling things that you are currently working on, like Passions for example and keeping trying to get ur account back. I only have one account and 3 characters but if anyone ever stole Max, I wouldn't give up and play on Mrfluffers more. I'd fight for it back! No one ever got anywhere just by rolling over.

Because MMO history has shown over and over that accounts rarely if ever get stolen without the original owners involvement.

Ask yourself what it would take for someone to get your account info right to be able to log on and change the billing info. Then ask yourself how likely it is, and if it is even possible, that someone could obtain the necessary information from you without you knowing it. There is your answer.

Things like "My account was stolen, and I have absolutely no idea how it happened, someone must have hacked my WiFi!" seem indeed somewhat odd at that point.

If you, as in you personally, give your account info to someone else, later that account gets sold, and you come here saying it's been stolen, how are any of the readers supposed to know whether they got the whole story? Perhaps there was some sort of agreement between you and the guy you gave the account info to? Perhaps you had a change of heart after the deal was made? Perhaps you are a SOB who sold the account and now wants to shaft the buyer? Perhaps there are about one million other reasons or variations of the above we know nothing about?

The story already went from "I have no idea how it happened other than someone hacked my WiFi" to "Well yeah, someone else had my account info, but they wouldn't have sold my account".

People can believe whatever they choose to believe. To me this is not a cut and dry case, that's all I am saying.
 
well i think that you sold your acct and your just tryin to make up some excuse to get it back..... reason is.... to rip off IGE and try to mess up the gilsellers..... this aint a flame or anything just a theory i have =D
 
No way Ascar! Pandorda wouldn't go through all that trouble. Although having an account being stolen and sold online over-night seems odd....not saying it's impossible but odd.


Doesn't look like he'd go through all this for attention or whatever. He's had to have had it stolen!

But that's not the point! He wants to know if he should Continue the hunt or just go on with life and use mattizon.

I vote Retrieve....only because damn titti was a fine titti and when pandorda afk'd i'd go and hug titti secretly and it made me feel special.....True Story
 
I heard if you buy gil through the whilst ffxi is running through the windower, you are somehow at risk of getting your account hijacked. Idk how it makes sense either.

iRO, 2003. Database was hacked an over 3100 accounts on all three servers were hacked and had most/all equipment and money stripped from characters and/or deleted afterwards. They hadto do a serverwide rollback three times and introduced a 2x exp/drop rate for ten days to compensate the problem.

I cried when I logged in without my Ghost Plate Mail and Fin Helm. ;.;
