In SWG folks used to Ebay their Jedi accounts for about £500~£1500 depending on certain factors, then they would phone up SOE a month after sale, whine and get their account back, and keep the money, it happened alot and was always funny. :D

First of all, there are no "agreements" between me and anyone. The only other way your theory would work was if my friend in real life sold it from his computer that the account is on for me to play on when i'm over there.
Secondly, I never said it was "hacked by my wify" I was simply giving options as to how it "might" of happened. I've tried answering every question asked yet for some reason you still think that I sold it and am just trying to scam someone.
Sculli, this is the first time i wish for you to butt out. You are not helping my case, and you changing my tittle to what it is doesn't help. I wasn't asking for help on finding who stole my account, I was asking if it was worth redoing the characters that were taken. YOU still have yet to answer that question, you just keep asking questions that i dont have answers to or try to answer as best as i can and then you reword them and try and make me look like a bad guy.
I think dragon said it best, WHY would i go through all the trouble of selling ONE of my accounts and then try and jack it back? Let alone, if I had why would I bring up the subject to all of QCDN? Think about those questions sculli, and then answer my origional question. You just keep going with this itchy feeling that i'm just not understanding. I might not be able to answer a lot of questions asked, but i do know one thing I DIDN'T SELL TITTIMONGA AND KELZEIN.
So if your going to keep coming here with a biased opinion sculli, i'd prefer you keep them to yourself. We all know you must make good money off IGE and i'm sure this has you irked a bit since you used to sell to them and all and there aids raid your site. Wouldn't want a flame on them to piss them off and make you take there adds off now would you? Is that what your protecting?
Any post you make after this sculli will ignore if it isn't related to my origional question, because all it does is piss me off and wish that i hadn't came to this comunity for support.
 
Try for a little longer. If little or no progress is made I would suggest leveling your other whm character.

I don't think I have ever said that you sold the account.
I do think that I have said that I believe that the whole story is not really known to the readers, and I stand by that. Personally I do not believe you sold it, I do believe that the whole thing did not happen without any of your involvement. The reason why I believe that is that I can simply not imagine how someone could have changed your account info without some sort of assitance from you, whether that was voluntary or involuntary assistance is undetermined.

I just don't believe that you "lost" your account, that's all.

No offense, but what does it matter what others think whether it is worth doing. Whether something is worth doing is entirely up the the person who is going to do it. The whole world can say it's not worth it, but if it is worth it to you then that is all that matters.

You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I think you will just have to put up with public comments on an issue you brought up on a public forum, whether you like the comments or not.

Yup, I do have some history with IGE, based on my dealings with Yantis in EQ. Yantis and Playerauctions used to be his own business, and then he sold to IGE. I am not irked at all. I don't see that IGE has anything to do with this, from their end they don't seem to have done anything wrong. Someone sold them an account that the seller had in his possession. If not even SE will recognize that your account was stolen, what could IGE have done differently? To them it's a done deal.

It sucks to have your account, that you have worked on for so long, taken from you. I don't deny that this has happened. I merely question the cicumstances.

If this thread were simply about advice on what kind of character to create, then that is what it would have been. Instead you chose to post about the stolen account, and add the line to your sig. You can't honestly expect that people will not pick up on discussing the issue and merely limiting themselves to advice on whether to roll another character or not.

Not sure what you mean, to me it's a disagreement, an argument at best, far from a flame. Questioning just how the account got "lost" isn't flaming imho, correct me if I am wrong.
I went ahead and renamed the thread to closer reflect the OPs original question.
 
i dont want a flame war, the reason i explained about the selling and stuff was because i was informing people of the whole story.

thats why i didn't name it after account stollen or make a post about it being stollen. i'm not sure what happend, i just want to know if i need to keep fighting for what i've spent so much time working on or start over and only have my pictures as a memory.

That's the resolution i was more looking for from qcdn. sorry this is just a really sensitive subject for me because i have no clue how it happened. maybe it was my fault maybe it wasn't but i still have no answers for any questions i've asked let alone more being stacked on me. do you see where i'm coming from sculli?

Well, if nothing else then you could probably get the account closed.
Let's think about it. SE doesn't support selling of items of accounts. You can provide them with your billing info, which will show them that you were indeed the original owner. Then you can provide them with a copy of your correspondence with IGE that clearly shows that the account was sold. Then, if SE sticks to their end, they will have to close the account.

ok this has happened to a friend of mine named chirei.(some of you prolly know her)i can already tell you that shes a very wonderfull honest person and she had
her own Character stolen.long story short she kept on calling SE and working with them.talking to different ppl cause some of the ppl she talked to didnt seem to know what to do but eventually one day she came back and her char was back.ithink she said some stuff was missing but she was just glad she didnt have to relvl her whm all the way to back again.i dont know how ppl can do it cause im not that much of a cpu wiz and i play on ps2 but you can get your account stollen without being involved.i dont know how you can get all your accounts back but at least just keep trying.just keep calling SE and talking to different ppl and see if some of your accounts pop back.in the end run tho its your decision

It's not exactly hard to get account information from anyone. All it takes is an enemy. I, myself, wouldn't do this to FFXI or any other MMO but I have done it to some GB players (they tried to hack my account so I turned around and got theirs).

1 ) End up with an enemy.
2 ) Enemy bypasses a few security walls of SE to get to IP log. (Not hard. You're not causing chaos on their site so they don't even know you're there)
3 ) Enemy uses program and finds an open port to slip a keylogger in. You won't realize it because it doesn't show you as downloading anything and doesn't slow your computer.
4 ) Enemy brings up keylogger program on his/her computer.
5 ) Enemy waits until you type in your password to get on PlayOnline.
6 ) Enemy doesn't need 2nd password because it is saved and that's through PoL.
7 ) Enemy gets in and changes account information and billing.
8 ) Enemy sells account, gets the money, and has had their revenge.

The process looks long but it only takes 5 minutes to get everything set up and then wait for the person to log on PoL. Most people use a certain computer for hacking so you can't trace the IP due to IP blocks and IP changes. They use another computer for gaming and everything else.

Made any enemies recently? xD
 
mine was Hackd too

I had quit/took a break, and went on Vac for 3months I came back to find all 4 characters deleted, i calld SE and told them about it, all they would do is restore it from my last log in date. said ok told them date, waited a week, log in, and all my shit was gone i mean everytthng, all AF for 3jobs, calld them back, they said this was the last log in date, told them wasn't mine, that i was on Vac, and no one had access to my account, i live alone. said they couldn't do anythng and to keep my account info to my self. WTF are they dumb. Idk what to say bro but keep try'n

Why not just work on 1 of your other current 100 accounts instead of starting a new one? Though it seems like a lost cause, and i'm sorry you had to go thru it, be glad it wasn't 1 of your other further played accounts with better gear that you dumped your gil into, but hey if you have the time (since you seem to), start another account. I don't think you need to be involved or have an enemy to get your account stolen

Maybe it just happen you are the victim on randomly target.

If it really a keylogger problem, then i don't know..

If you have feel unsecure about logggin into pol/ffxi, make the setting on pol that automiclly logged into the PoL, without need it to type in your password and id. is very opposit of that you think, if key logger is really targeting you, you don't really need to worry because you switch the setting to automailly sign on before keylogger targeted you, and I don't think there is anyway they can read the dot lol unless the hacker really a veteran one and decode crap lol

There is a way to protect your account

1) Keep Firewall on at all time even during online game play
2) Keep your password and id safe and out of reach from anyone
3) Don't let your friend even your own family know your password and id
4) Don't make a simple password name like "Iownyou" or "Sweets" Those are easy to be hacked, use number and letter like "Ae451Ffq6"
5) If you taking a long break from FFXI, call the PoL hotline and say you want to supend the account, so there is no way hacker can hack your account that have been suspend, and won't leave open during your breaks.
6) Don't have the same password or id name from your e-mail address or any other website that you registered on
7) Scan your computer for virus, spyware, or keylogger software in your system, I think antivirus can detect keylogger in your computer now
8 ) Don't download any 3rd pt software that enchance the game, if you do use something, use it at your own risk.
9) If you buying gil from Ige or any website that sell game money, never give them your account info except for a character name. Use different credit card to purchase gil that is different from the credit card you use to pay your monthly fee
10) When you call your friend that you really trusted, don't tell him your id and password on phone, some phone have static and sometime someone can hear your convosion even those you did do 3 say, etc, This Happen to my friend when he call me, we was chatting, then for some reason there is a statics and we heard some mexican people speaking on a background, then we can hear it clearly what they say, even tho we don't understand, then my friend acting all funny and see if they can hear us, so he started to make a joke and some racist joke to see if they can hear, funny thing they hear it, then he start cussing and make some funny stupid joke to piss them off lol then they hang up. Soooo basicly tell your friend personally about your id and password if you really trusted that person/friend.
11) Don't use Friend List Plus from the PoL offical website, because it required your id and password, your computer could be hacked just at a right time and in a right place.
11A) Don't check your friend list in school computer using Friend List Plus
12) Alway keep your billing info and your registion code in a safe area incase you really need it in an emergancy so you can have proof.

My advice is work on one of your other characters BUT do not give up on getting your account back. In the end, you'll either have Titti back or have the other account up there.. or both. ;o
 
my advise.... buy a new account from IGE, tis the circle of life. xD
 
this all sounds like a cry for attention. the makings of a drama-queen.

i bet Passions hasn't even lost control over that one account and in a couple of months there will be another post about how he finally got his account back and he'll expect even more attention.
 
Passions if you don't know who has your character already, i do.

Send me a tell in game and i will explain, cause i spoke to Tittimonga in game and she revealed who it was behind the character cause I knew her by another name before. I wont reveal it to the qcdn audience yet, but we may need to talk beforehand so in case i'm wrong I dont look like a fool XD
