Wow..

Wow Sneaky. lol

I bid 3600G on a Light Crystal yesterday!

Did you guys see this?

Untitled.jpg
... I wanna be that person.

I bid 1mil on something that was 100k once. I didn't bother asking for the money back because I did a /sea and saw it was a Japanese person and didn't want to go through the auto-trans nightmare. She/he sent ME a tell trying to auto-trans and ended up just asking me to meet them in Upper Jeuno at the AH where she/he proceeded to trade me 900k. I thought that was pretty damn nice considering I didn't even try to ask for the money back. We'll just say there was a lot of /bowing.

That's the most epic self-pwnage ever, the screenshot that is.

I was trying to buy HQ staves for a game wedding with my then 3 year old on my lap. :shok: when that little bugger helped me put all <almost 800k> of my gil on a dark staff.
Echild was kind enough to trade me back my gil. I did manage to buy the HQ staff. now can someone tell me why Wedding masters never seem to show up or respond to the wedding.

That SS could very well be proof of the greatest fuck up in FFXI history.

that happened to me too. was spamming on pluto's staff and got a dark staff for 1.5mil. had some sorta lag and it just went too fast and wrong.

zxcv was the name, and said his "sky bosS" could not give me the money back. lol. gilseller fag.

I'd say its more likely Kirin was looking over his shoulder.

gosh,that sux D:

I sold a velocity earring to Ugotjacked for like 1.5M when they where 150K and gave the money back. I think that was the number. It was the normal decimal-misstake. Never overbid on anything tho.

If you wanna win the lottery, atleast buy a ticket. Getting lucky like that isnt something you earn in anyway. But peple always dare to be assholes when they dont have to face someone in the flesh.

This is a fun gray area subject....

That long story about those mantles...I used to expect (keyword) people to be kind and understanding back in the day in FFXI pre Cop. I was wrong though to think that way. The reason is because I shouldn't expect anyone to hold my morale values at all and when ti comes to business morales usually are out the window.

Mistake or not you are at the mercy of the individual that "won the lotto". And if they choose not to refund you. Tough. It's your personal responsibility to make sure you post something correctly. When you screw up, its all on you. Don't judge or curse those who benefited. The blame and mistake is 100% on you and deal with the results of your mistakes and learn from them.

Though the situation sucks. And yes some of you may feel the morale standards you hold would make you want to give back the item or pay more. It does not mean that the purchaser is in the wrong for not refunding or what not.

This is business when it comes to AH end of story. I don't see the relevance to judging the purchaser as greedy mofo. They didn't do anything wrong. They bid they won. The seller screwed themselves by making a huge mistake.

Had to input. People dismiss personal responsibility far too often. The seller is a victim of there own actions. Not a victim of the bidder who won. Take it on the chin and move on like I said.

I've accidentally sent over 300 gold to a character before because I mistyped my alts name...who would have thought that there was a similar name off by one letter on my server and same faction (differ game). You know ...all I could do was ask nicely once. If they kept it...my bad.. I got lucky and they gave me half back and just said "learn from your mistake". I got the point and didn't hold them in ill views .. it was my mistake ..I have no right to get all pissy at them.

Just some food for thought..

As I admitted in my earlier post, there really is nothing that can be done about this ultimately, and it is the fault of the person that made the mistake, leaving them at the mercy of the lowball-buyer.

However, when you plainly say not to judge or curse those who benefitted, I only generally agree. When I look at the spefic incident I brought up, I feel judging and cursing is more than appropriate. Those who were already judged by the community at large to be such nice people proved to be beyond reason even when given a chance to accept a mutually beneficial solution. Versus, you know, one that shit all over someone they knew just for their own opportunity to be as greedy a fuck as they could be.

As far as communicating what happened. Better late than never. The truth should have been spoken then, but I didn't want to make a big deal of it.

Something like that happened to me once too.

It didn't. I've been around here more than a while ^^

Feedback gewd. Just wanted to clarify that tidbit for you. There's general observations, and there's general observations that don't apply to certain scenarios.

I remember once.. I bought a SH back when they were like what 6m and SH+1 we're like 15m? Some guy had a SH for like 300k in his bazaar and I thought I hit the jackpot lol.
I hoped the guy was quitting cause I felt like a douche lol, but he never gave me a /tell.
I also bid everything on a light staff once.. luckily the japenese fella I got it from decided to refund me.

That byne screencap /has/ to be setup. Part of me refuses to accept that someone would not only carry around seventy 100coins, but that they would make the huge mistake of selling at least two stacks of them somehow.

If the poster had the gil to buy them all, which he did, he would have pounced on them all, not stopped at sixty.

Just... no. I won't accept that level of carelessness and thoughtlessness in this game.

...that said, I once bought a gluttony sword for all of my gil because I didn't expect to win the auction. That's what happens when you try to win at AH.
