Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

Spanky main eventing now? It has been awhile since I've watched smackdown. I remember him jobbing to people before they pushed him and paul london as a tag team. Even then before they were champs, they would get put into squash matches from what I can remember.
 
Well...Spanky is main eventing. I think it's a nice change because he really is a good wrestler. I have to say I'm slightly disappointed with the smackdown all star premier though. Too many bad wrestlers in one night. lol
 
I've barely even been able to watch WWE lately, it's just been really craptacular.
 
They do have a few good things going. On Raw they have the ever amusing Charlie Haas impersonating superstars. They still have Santino on raw as well so that's not hurting them. Cody and Teddy could have been great...but then Affa jr. had to step in and makes that team look fucking retarded. Once Randy comes back in the picture I think Raw will be really good. Him and CM Punk will have a fantastic rivalry.

As for Smackdown...they ruined it when they had Natalia lose the diva's belt to Michelle McCool. Just because she's the undertakers dumpster means she'll hold onto that belt for a while. Frankly, that sucks.
 
Charlie Haas' new gimmick is funny as hell. He definitely made Khali break character and chuckle a little bit on the last one.

Randy Orton sticking around for the episodes even though he can't wrestle is fun too.

Santino's funny as ever.

Y2J as champ could be a little bit better but it hasn't been too bad.

Thats really all I can think of going good atm. The Kane angle went to shit when Mysterio got involved.
 
I just got home from TNAs Bound for Glory IV. I finally figured out what it is I loathe about TNA. It's their "Non stop action" camera angles. The cameras are never still and when they punch someone, it zooms in and out like we popped them. It's very annoying. ; ;

The pay per view was horrible too. Vince has nothing to worry about.

I enoyed RAW quite alot this week, for the first time in months. The only problem i had was when Randy Orton came out from the back and gave his speech, he claimed to be better than Cena because he was able to go on and finish his match with Triple H. Correct me if i'm wrong but... didn't he grab the ref and tell him to end the match 'cus he broke his shoulder as soon as it happened? I mean.. Randy's awesome and all but straight up lying like this relatively soon after the event loses him some points.
 
Randy actually did finish his match from what I remember. I remember hearing a lot of praise of him about how he handled that back when it happened. I didn't actually see it so I can't say for sure.
 
No, i remember it well. Randy was thrown over the top rope and landed on the mats below badly, causing his injury, he shouted "Oh god i just broke my collarbone" immediatly, and the ref made his way over and started counting to 10 (last man standing match) Orton made no effort to get up, however Triple H broke the count at 8 by pulling Orton to his feet, and then hitting him with a sledgehammer to end the match.
 
Oh well ok then. I never saw it so not sure.

On another note, Lance Cade was just released. Guess they didn't like his new gimmick as jericho's student.

I thought he got up, went back in the ring, got pedigree'd and then the match was over. I remember a pedigree after his injury truthfully.

It was a few months ago so i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure it ended outside of the ring exactly as i said HHH hit him once with a sledgehammer and he didn't get up, people were shocked Triple H even bothered to break the 10 count when the ref got to 8, the match was clearly over.

Well its not too believable that someone can get knocked out to 10 just from being thrown over the ropes espically when wrestlers have gotten up over things far worse than that (espically if your name is Mick Foley) so I'm guessing that HHH just used the sledgehammer to make the knockout seem more realistic and dramatic. Its understandable Orton got hurt and can't continue but letting him get thrown over and just ending it there makes for a dull ending. Thats just my guess though.
 
So they're trying to portray Mick Foley as part-owner of TNA now? Honestly didn't see that one coming. Thought he was just going to have his tiny month-long stint and then come back to WWE or something. At least it's somewhat worth watching now. As for the Main Event Mafia (Kevin Nash, Sting, Booker T, and Kurt Angle), I hope it doesn't turn out to be a sad re-creation attempt of the nWo. Nash 'was' one half of the dreaded Fingerpoke of Doom, after all. But then again, he doesn't have any writing power this time thankfully (for now).

That is why I stopped watching wrestling lol. TNA is sounding interesting though. I may have to pick back up on that. Also gonna necro to keep this thread going.
 
Y2j got his championship back in an fun cage mage so I'm happy :D

Dunno why they gave Batista an 8 day reign though lol totally pointless
