Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

Nancy bound at her feet and wrists? Well fuck you Chris. Fuck. You.

Steroids, apparently.

What a moron.

What a moron.

I know everyone's going to jump on the 'zomg it was roid rage' bandwagon but I don't buy it. Did Benoit use them? Sure. Do most wrestlers? Probably. Were they prescribed? In this case, yes. Just brushing it off as steroids is trying to find a simple one-line answer to something that was probably very, very complicated.

Yeah now I'm hearing that she filed for divorce in 2003 and that benoit has threatened her then as well. That you link that was posted says she had a restraining order during that time. I don't like how everyone is suddenly blaming steriods for this. They've been blamed since this happened. Sure it may cloud his mind to not think properly, but its not gonna put him into a killing rage. It takes something deeper than that to set someone off.

Very sad i must say i really was wondering what went on and i read something on my cell phone at lunch. Which more or less explained it all to me what went on cause I can check out cnn on my cell phone.

This really suck i can't believe a guy like him would do such a thing kind of makes me sick to my stomach. I mean yea i know drugs where involved but he just doesn't seem like that type of guy but u never know with wrestlers anymore. I know they said authorities found prescription anabolic steroids in the home among other legal prescriptions. I guess WWE needs to really crack down on stuff wonder if there was any like warrning signs that he was having problems at home.

I remember reading something a long time ago that WWE was gonig to keep a close eye on there wrestlers and there wellness policy cause they didn't want another death that happend like Eddie. So how does the WWE enforce there policy now about legal prescriptions drugs and steroid. Just really sad i mean i fell for ppl like Chavo, Dean, and Breat Hart who knew him and was close to him.

Viscera Set For Gimmick Change & Main Event Push?

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Viscera's transfer from Raw to ECW is going to end up being really beneficial for the big man. He is currently in line for a monster push in ECW.

The idea is to make him a version of the 1980's One Man Gang character in World Class and UWF, where he pretty much plows through everyone because of his immense girth. Viscera's going to be repackaged - the comedy overtones and giant pajamas are going to be stripped from his persona. No more Viscagra and no more Rick Rude-like pelvic thrusts. Basically, "The World's Largest Love Machine" gimmick is no more. He's going to go back to being mean and bad, similar to Mark Henry if you will. The idea is to get him over big, unstoppable monster in ECW, then bring him back to Raw or SmackDown by the end of the year as a monster heel who can headline. This will be similar to what they perceived they successfully did with Snitsky, who is scheduled to mow down undercarders for the rest of the year and feud with Cena in 2008.

Viscera is getting a renewed pushed because he is big guy and not a problem backstage. Dave Lagana, the head writer of ECW, didn't want him on the brand unless he was going to be repackaged because he felt his "Love Machine" gimmick would never get over as a headliner. Furthermore, Vince McMahon liked the idea of Viscera being pushed like the One Man Gang in the 80's. Plus, it's easy to convince Vince to push a monster, even he's failed a few times before, as opposed to a smaller person, even if the person has a history of past success.

Very interesting i must say sorry i'm reading older wrestlezone stuff i missed these last couple of days

Still don't know wtf to say. The whole thing is messed up and I just wish it never happened.

btw Tyrath, it was going to be Linda McMahon.

I didn't read anything on that either actually. Thats good to hear though. Vicsera was pushed in the past when he won king of the ring and feuded with Taker. He was pretty big when he was teaming with Mo known as man on a mission aka MoM. How he goes from success to jobber I'll never know but I'm glad they plan on pushing him again.

btw Tyrath, it was going to be Linda McMahon.

That killed vince? Thats kind of a strange twist. She turned heel and teamed with Vince during her last TV run when they went back to the USA channel. Could be revenge for Vince having affairs with her years before I guess.

Regardless of this whole situation, i am still going to smoke one for the Rabid Wolverine. at home he may be a child killing bastard, but in the ring he was one of the best and one of the last of the great entertainers.

Regarding the McMahon "death" angle on Raw last night before news broke out on the sudden death of WWE star Chris Benoit, thus causing the show to be a tribute show, original plans called for the show to end with "federal investigators" arresting Vince's wife Linda McMahon on suspicion of murder.

However, it would later turn out that the incompetent "feds" were wrong. Not on last night's Raw, but on a future episode. The "feds" would then continue their investigation and the storyline would have continued for an indefinite amount of time.

Eh, they were planning on keeping it going for a while..

Sounds like it but let all move on i know its hard seems like ppl in the other form is more or less bashing him for what he did. Which i can understand what he did it won just wish it never went on just wish we could take back time u know that.

Here is a poem that i found i was trying to look for the one that actually Mark Henry wrote when Owen Hart passed away.

I thought I loved you
I thought I knew
I saw the lights, the stars... the moon
I felt it in my stomach
I felt it in my heart
I felt you in my dreams
I knew it this was just the start
As time passed on, we went our ways
My feelings stood true as they do today
But the time has come to tear away
The thick dark lies that blind me from day
I gave it my all
What more can I say
Other than I thought I knew
Tomorrow is another day
-"Unknown"-

I think Vince is doing a very good job handling this. With all that's happened I'm really pleased the way things are going in the WWE.

Yeah, he said there will be no more mention of Benoit now.

Yeah I'm hearing he's being erased everywhere. The WWE website took off his merchandise from shopzone and all pictures and videos of him. I was also told that WWE is taking his matches out of any future DVD releases. I hear certain stores are getting rid of his action figures as well. What a shame. He WAS one of the greats. Like Neg said, he had a great legacy and he crapped on it. Eddie and owen went out with a bang. Benoit went out with a dissappointment.
